  1. How did I forget that?. Old age does not come alone.
  2. £7M for Kent. Hopefully the club used the Seville calculator.
  3. As I was under it could not see what it depicted. Know now it was from a Iron Maiden song/album ? Must have been a lot of work put into it, but what was the point? I can’t see any Rangers or football connections, or am I missing something? Hidden meaning?
  4. https://www.heraldscotland.com/opinion/17874264.1956-1968-scot-symon-football-great/ 5 hrs ago 1956-1968: Scot Symon, a football great By Russell Leadbetter SCOT Symon was the manager of Rangers when in October 1956 they played their first-ever match in the European Cup. Rangers beat the French team, Nice, 2-1 in the first leg at Ibrox but lost the second leg, in France, by the same scoreline. The replay, on November 28, took place at the Parc des Princes stadium, in Paris; Rangers, badly missing their inspirational captain George Young, lost 3-1. The Evening Times described the three encounters as a ‘blood and thunder serial story’. The main picture (far right) shows Rangers keeper George Niven signing an autograph at Renfrew Airport when the team arrived home after the first game in France, with Symon just behind him. “James Scotland Symon,” says the Rangers website, “was different from most football managers in that he had none of the extrovert characteristics often associated with the role. He was a quiet and reserved man who had been a Rangers player under legendary manager Bill Struth. “By the time he was chosen to succeed the great man in 1954, Symon had proved himself not only a very good player but also a manager with the right pedigree for the job.’ Symon, it adds, was the first man to play both football and cricket for Scotland and would have had more soccer caps but for the fact of the Second World War. He was also to be the last of the old-school bosses; “after him came a new breed who would don tracksuits to join the players on the training pitch.” Under Symon, Rangers reached two European Cup Winners’ Cup finals, in 1961, when they lost to Fiorentina, and in 1967, when they were defeated by Bayern Munich. Domestically, he steered them to their second treble of League, Cup and League Cup Treble, in 1963-64, as well as the League and Cup doubles the previous season. In all, Symon saw his players win six league titles, five Scottish Cups and four League Cups. He is pictured here (right, bottom) in November 1957 with two other Rangers greats - Bob McPhail, who scored 230 league goals for the club, and Alan Morton. Symon was controversially dismissed, however, in 1967; in the words of the club website, it came after he rejected a move to make him general manager and let a younger man run team affairs. The younger man was his assistant, David White who suddenly found himself in charge after just five months at the club. Symon went on to serve as a director at Dumbarton before taking over as manager at Patrick Thistle. The picture (right, tóp) shows him in the dugout in his first game in charge, against Hibs, in September 1968 -Thistle won 2-1. Simon died in April 1985, aged 74. The Herald’s Ian Paul wrote that Symon had “tasted the glories of football as well as its depressions.” His death had occurred just a few months after he had become reconciled with Rangers: “Not surprisingly, his sacking caused great controversy, and it was only when Rangers played Moscow Dynamo this year that the rift was healed and Symon accepted an invitation to return to Ibrox.”
  5. Have we played Aribo, Arfield, Davis, Kamara and Jack before in a game? We knew that Ajer was out for them meaning that their poor left back would be playing. Piss poor team selection from the manager, we’re the home team far too defensive. Got abuse before on here for saying the Goldson always makes a mistake, and he did again today. Not many got pass marks though. Celtic played like Aberdeen and won, says it all.

  16. From the Sun KON-TACTS Rangers ‘bid’ €10million for Amiens striker Moussa Konate Gary Taylor 25 Aug 2019, 20:34 Updated: 25 Aug 2019, 20:39 RANGERS have bid €10million for Amiens striker Moussa Konate, according to reports. Gers have been linked with a move for the powerful striker as they prepare to face bids for Alfredo Morelos. 1 Konate in action for SenegalCredit: Reuters Steven Gerrard has admitted he would be ‘powerless’ to stop the sale of the goal scoring Colombian. And French newspaper L'Equipe claim the Light Blues have sent an offer of just over £9m for Konate. The 26-year-old striker is under contract with the Ligue 1 side until 2021. But Amiens will have their mettle tested by a significant offer from the Ibrox side. The Senegalese forward was the subject of interest from English Premier League sides West Ham and Burnley last summer with both teams linked with an £8million move. And more recently, West Brom have been reportedly interested in signing the striker to bolster their attacking options. Meanwhile the Union Bears has hit out at the club for the stadium ban at Ibrox for Thursday night's Legia Warsaw clash.
  17. Yes very true. I thought (possibly wrongly) that the UB were in dialogue with the club on frequent basis. But you’re correct, also proves my view that they see themselves as special.
  18. The UB statement is exactly what I expected from them. No remorse far less an apology from a group who think their the most important thing on match days. One other point if it s correct, the club have never spoken to them about the song sheet. That’s a dereliction of duty by our board.
  19. Steven Gerrard admits he fears losing one of Rangers’ top stars in the last week of the transfer window - and not being allowed to replace them. The Ibrox boss claims he’s satisfied with the squad he has to take him through until January and will only add to it if there’s a late chance of heart from Liverpool on a Ryan Kent loan. But he’s aware of interest in the likes of Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier and believes a decent bid for any of his main men might end up leaving him short. Gerrard said: “We’ll find out in the coming days. I predict that a bid will land for one of my players. "I think you'll see some movement out. There's some offers swirling about for certain individuals, so there will be news broke over the seven or so days that are left. “But I can't see there being any change the other way unless something comes out of the blue and takes away one of our players we might have to replace. “That could happen. There's nothing really solid yet that we have to make a decision on, but it's getting warmer as they days go by, so I predict there could be some outgoings. "I'm comfortable in certain situations with certain personnel going out and playing football, players who are maybe not in my plans. “What I'm not comfortable with is if a bid comes out of the blue for a player that is in my plans, that's when I would have a decision to make.” With eight days to go until deadline day, Gerrard is hoping any bid which will be to the detriment of his squad will be knocked back but he confessed: “I think it would depend on what comes from above, what their opinion is on it. “At the end of the day it’s their money, the players are owned by the board. I want to keep as many good players as I can but I’m also not stupid enough to realise that if a bid comes for a player and the board accept it then it’s a tough position for me to be in. “I’d give my opinion but at the end of the day we’ve all got bosses haven’t we?” Asked if he and his scouting staff would be in a position to replace like with like at the last minute, he added: “Of course we always think worst-case scenarios…’what if’, imagine if’. That type of work is always going on. “I was watching clips of players this morning again, just in case. But certain players are more difficult to replace than others. And each day that goes by, that becomes tougher. "There will be a cut-off point in the coming days where we go ‘we don’t even pick the phone up’. It’s a simple as that because there is no possible way we can move forward and challenge on all fronts if we were to lose a main player.” Meanwhile despite constant speculation on Kent’s fate at Anfield, Gerrard insists he’s they're still in a shielding pattern. He sighed: “I don't really want to speak about it because nothing is happening on it. “There's been no change or developments since the last time we asked Liverpool and were told there wouldn't be a loan situation. Nothing has changed on it. “But you never give up on trying to improve your team and squad. You never give up on following and tracking top players. “I made it pretty clear over the course of 12 months working with Ryan how highly I rate him, so I'd never shut the door on any player and certainly top players but I have to understand, respect and appreciate the situation of his parent club, who were obviously very helpful in giving him to us in the first place. “If you're told no, you have to accept the answer is no until there's ever a time that changes. Where we stand right now that hasn't changed.”
  20. The answer is very very simple. The board must take action including bans for offending groups and individuals. At the moment 99% of fans will back any action the board decide on, the balls at their feet will they kick it hard enough?
  21. I think we’re at a watershed point in our history now. The Club have a simple choice, take strong action to rid us of the morons or go on with the wee cosy chats and appeals that the morons will just ignore. If this behaviour continues we could be out of European football, does anyone think that Steven Gerrard would stay if that happened? He’d be off not wanting his name attached to a club that’s been proven racist/sectarian, the directors have a big decision to make here. Are they up to it?
  22. BF1 told they’ll get a refund. Looks like CD6 also closed.
  23. Email out to those in CD7 it’s ONE of the areas to be closed. People on ccc will be moved elsewhere.
  24. Close part of club deck and move these people into Broomie front.
