Pre-Season 2022/23 Megathread | [FT] Rangers 1 (Colak 24') - 2 Tottenham
BEARGER replied to Rousseau's topic in Rangers Chat
Please note that Supporters are encouraged to enter the stadium earlier than usual. We have a number of supporters who will be in unfamiliar seats and as a result we are expecting increased queueing times at the turnstiles. Particularly those in the Broomloan Stand should arrive as early as possible. All Supporters in the Broomloan Rear will have to enter the stadium via Turnstiles 57-60 which are located in the south of the Broomloan Road Stand. Please arrive as early as possible to aid access to the stadium. Supporters who are in the Broomloan Front should enter the stadium via Turnstiles 61-66. The half-time smoking area will not be available in the Broomloan Stand for this fixture. -
Club 1872 Statement on BBC Scotland Dear Contributor, Club 1872 notes today’s announcement by BBC Scotland that they have reached agreement with Rangers to resume coverage for the 2022/23 season, following a period where they refused to adequately cover Rangers games. Whilst cautiously welcoming this development, we note that BBC Scotland has not in fact acknowledged the inherent bias in much of their coverage of the club over the past decade. They have chosen instead to restate the apologies they have already made - the majority of which had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, out of their senior management following detailed complaints from Club 1872 and hundreds of individual Rangers supporters. This climb down by BBC Scotland is a victory for all those supporters, and we thank those supporters for their considerable time and effort, but it does not address the core problem. Without a wholesale change in the culture at BBC Scotland, which does not appear to have taken place, it remains to be seen whether they are able to ensure pundits like Michael Stewart adhere to BBC editorial standards despite multiple breaches involving Rangers in the past. In the meantime, we are pleased that Rangers supporters will once again have access to the coverage that their licence fee pays for. The quality and fairness of that coverage will now be the focus over the coming months.

Craig Houston Appointed Club 1872 Development Manager Dear Contributor Club 1872 is pleased to announce that Craig Houston has taken up the new role of Development Manager for the organisation. Craig previously served Club 1872 as a Director, receiving the largest share of votes at the first ever Club 1872 elections. The Development Manager role will see him tasked with increasing awareness and attracting new members. The Club 1872 Directors are delighted that Craig has accepted the offer to return to the organisation and believe that his experience and skill set will be a great asset. The Board wishes to expand and grow the organisation and this new role is part of many new initiatives being introduced and researched. Craig said: “Club 1872 is already the largest constituted body of Rangers fans and a major shareholder in the club. It can purchase shares and invest in projects that are beneficial to the Rangers community. Both these features should be viewed positively by fans, the club, and the PLC Board." "Rangers fans need no reminder of the club’s history since 2012 and Club 1872 provides a vehicle for fans to engage positively and have a say in any key decisions of major shareholders. The more Contributors we have, the bigger this influence will be and the more Rangers Football Club will benefit from that engagement.” With a career in Sales Management, Craig is aware that Club 1872 must evolve as it grows: “I am keen to develop procedures that make it easier and advantageous for fans to contribute to Club 1872. The true value of the organisation cannot be met until it becomes the norm for Rangers fans to also be Club 1872 Contributors. Recent history has shown us that our fans can influence change at our club and have an incredibly positive impact. Club 1872 can ensure a brighter, better future for Rangers”. “It is easy to forget after occasions such as “55” and Seville that fans can and should play a part in making sure we do not return to the mistakes of the past. Genuine fan engagement can improve the decisions made by the custodians of the club and go some way to preventing a return to our darkest days. Club 1872 can provide that if we can further increase our membership. That will be my aim.”

I see Dylan Reid at St Mirren has turned down a transfer to them. Believe he’s a bear but don’t know much more than that. Anyone think he’s one for the future? -

I assume that John Brown is still on the payroll as a scout for us? He was at Dundee td v Sunderland game. Running the eye over Ross Stewart? Or possibly looking at Graham the Scotland U21 CD? Then again maybe just fancied a day out at the Fitba. -
