  1. DAVE KING has called for greater boardroom transparency at Ibrox as he raised several concerns over the running of Rangers and the direction of the club on and off the park. The former chairman penned an open letter to Douglas Park and his directors on Thursday as the under-fire Rangers hierarchy - still reeling from the successive four goal defeats to Celtic and Ajax - were put under the spotlight once again. Supporters have become increasingly disillusioned with the way the club is operating at present and King has now questioned: • When the board decided to ‘change its commitment to supporters to reinvest the proceeds of player trading back into the squad and why was this not openly communicated to supporters?’ • What has happened to the funds banked by the run to the Europa League final last term and whether the ‘focus has moved onto competing in the financially lucrative European competitions as a pure profit motive rather than as a means to improve the squad?’ • The relationship between the board and fan organisations and why Park is ‘so against the transfer of my shares into the control of supporters via Club 1872?’ • If Rangers are for sale ‘if the price is right’ following an approach by American businesswoman Kyle Fox amid suggestions, which Rangers have refuted and have launched legal action over, that a share deal and £75million worth of investment was on the table. King voiced his concern over Rangers’ transfer strategy and their role in the cinch sponsorship fiasco last week and has since seen Van Bronckhorst’s side suffer humiliating defeats in the Premiership and Champions League as the Dutchman has been left fighting for his job at Ibrox. Supporters have been critical of areas such as communications, ticketing and the merchandise arrangement with Castore in recent months and were successful in forcing the board to pull out of the controversial Sydney Super Cup trip that was scheduled for November. King said: “I have been closely following the Club’s activities on and off the pitch and as a supporter (and still largest shareholder) I have become increasingly alarmed about what I am witnessing. “Being a director of Rangers is a privilege that comes with an individual and collective responsibility that appears to have been absent from decision making for some time now. “There is a shroud of secrecy around what is happening within the Club and the lack of meaningful engagement with supporters and shareholders, who are entitled to a greater degree of respect, is completely unacceptable. “The Club is being run like a private concern with supporters being increasingly treated as customers rather than people who give their hearts, souls and hard-earned money to Rangers. “Rangers fans know only too well the pain and suffering that can come from a lack of scrutiny over those entrusted to protect our Club. “This is why I am forced to speak out at this time by sending an open letter to the Board and by asking for future transparency, honesty and respect for all supporters and shareholders.”
  2. You would think so after this performance. He may get the weekend but anything but a good win at Aberdeen and he should go.
  3. Think I’ll cancel Liverpool hotel.
  4. Tavernier off King on along with Matondo for Wright. Jack also on for Tillman.
  5. Ibrox Tifo Project Poll Result Dear Contributor, Club 1872 is delighted to announce that Contributors have voted 90% in favour of our latest Projects CIC proposal. The project is to help fund stadium Tifos by the Union Bears, which will begin with our first home game of this season’s Champions League versus Napoli at Ibrox on the 13th September. The Union Bears have created a number of spectacular stadium displays in the past and we are proud to be supporting them in creating another Tifo as part of Rangers' historic return to the Champions League this season. Club 1872 Projects CIC will now donate £7500 to the Union Bears. This is the estimated cost of the Champions League Tifo and the group will use any excess to help part fund future displays. We look forward to seeing what we are sure will be an amazing display. Club 1872

  7. League bosses moved to cut Rangers out of the vote on a new £30million a year TV deal - after the Ibrox club demanded cash and an apology before giving it their approval. The proposal to extend a contract with broadcast giants Sky until 2029 was effectively torpedoed on Sunday night when Rangers refused to give it their backing. And Record Sport understands the Rangers hierarchy are refusing to support the revamped agreement until the SPFL say sorry for a previous bitter dispute over league sponsors Cinch AND agree to pick up the legal tabs on behalf of both the club and chairman Douglas Park. League chief executive Neil Doncaster needed all 12 top flight clubs to sign a waiver agreeing to let Sky’s cameras into their home grounds for one extra game a season. But while the other 11 signed up for a slice of the extra cash ahead of Sunday’s deadline, Rangers stood their ground and left the deal hanging in the balance. Yesterday, Doncaster attempted to circumnavigate that blockage by sending out a new ‘commercial resolution’ to clubs which requires the support of only 11 top flight clubs for it to be pushed through. It must also receive the blessing of at least six clubs from the Championship and a combined total of 32 clubs from across all four divisions. The clubs have until next Tuesday to register their votes but the league are confident the resolution will carry the support of the vast majority. Sky want to beef up their coverage of the Scottish top flight by increasing their live match package from 48 games to 60 games from season 2024/25 - and are willing to increase their annual payments from £24m to £30m by season 2028/29. And one source close to the stand off told Record Sport last night Rangers have said they would be happy for that deal to be signed off. The source said: “They have actually said that they will vote for the Sky extension but only after they have received an apology from the SPFL and get their legal fees paid along with those of Douglas Park. “That’s what’s caused this problem and why there was no alternative for the league other than to issue a new resolution which can be carried by an 11-1 majority.” A second resolution was also put forward yesterday which, if pushed through, would enable all clubs to sell an additional five pay-per-view matches per season from their home grounds. Record Sport contacted Rangers for comment.

  9. Was thinking the same, we will see.
  10. Copied from Four Lads had a Dream Twitter posts. 13 away league games in 2022 calendar year 6 wins, 5 draws, 2 defeats. 46% win rate 22 for 19 against (clean sheets 2) Of those 13, good performances? St Mirren, Motherwell & Hearts (last game of season) If people are asking on GVB, this is why and it’s indefensible. The draws - Aberdeen 1-1, Ross County 3-3, Dundee Utd 1-1, Celtic 1-1, Hibs 2-2 Wins - 0-1 St Johnstone, 0-4 St Mirren, 1-2 Dundee, 1-3 Hearts, Motherwell 1-3, 1-2 Livi. Defeats - 3-0 & 4-0 to Celtic
  11. Did not know that. How is our spend/turnover against Celtic over the last 18 months? Yes it is imo, hope you’re correct. Agreed.
  12. GvB seems able to get tactics/selection & subs correct in Europe but seems incapable of doing so in the domestic games. As soon as the team was announced with 3 defensive midfielders yesterday, we all knew the plan was to sit in and invite Celtic on to us. It was embarrassing. Gio and his staff are responsible for yesterday’s shambles along with the board who did not come up with sufficient funds to strengthen the team. The league is gone for this season already, we know there’s more turgid games ahead where we will drop more points. Will the board act sooner rather than later?
  13. I fear the worst in Europe, we are in CL not EL. Big difference in class.
  14. That horror pass from McLaughlin was coming, been close for a few games this season.
  15. Totally embarrassing.
  16. Offside to them and once again our defensive slow. meaning our players not switching on, Celtic quick at pace and quick at thinking.
  17. Daft booking for BB.
  18. Defence asleep at throw in!
  19. "From the first time I walked out on the pitch and heard Tina Turner's Simply the Best, I knew this was something big. What a club! There are no words to describe the size of Glasgow Rangers, you just need to feel that to understand what I am talking about. There are also no words to express my love for every part of the club. Since I arrived four Years ago, the love and support I received from the fans was unreal. We shared a lot of good and bad moments, from the wins in big games to the bad injury and long road to recovery. All ups and downs but the support was always amazing. Although I'm a very emotional person, I always manage to control my emotions and stay calm. "But yesterday once it became official that I was leaving and I started to receive messages and phone calls from many friends I made here, I started to cry like a baby. I just couldn't help myself. That club shaped me into the man I am today and I am extremely proud of every experience I had there. "The show must go on, that's life. No-one apart from God knows how things will go in my career but I can always say I played for one of the biggest clubs in the world and I helped Famous Glasgow Rangers to be back where they belong. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say a Massive Thank You to both managers, their staff, all my teammates I shared the dressing room with, every employee at the training ground and Ibrox, and to every single fan who made this journey unforgettable. It's definitely not a final goodbye - I will continue to follow and support the club, and I will definitely be back! With love, your Niko.”
  20. From the 4th Official, whoever that is. EXCL 🚨 Understand Rangers are trying to thrash out a deal for FC SKA-Khabarovsk winger Kirill Klimov Fee expected to be around £5m mark Khabarovsk has 5 caps for Russia & is predominantly a right sided attacker and is left footed
