  2. FOUR million more shares have been issued in Rangers' holding company - at a cost of £1million. The latest transaction in Rangers International Football Club PLC went through at the end of last month and was communicated on Companies House today. A total of four million shares were alotted - and bought at 25p per share. It's the first such transaction this year, and comes after similar allotments in two tranches of five million (£1.25m) and four million (£1m) in January and February of last year. It’s not known if the shares are being issued for cash investment or for the conversion of previous loans into equity. It comes after the Ibrox side announced their most positive set of results in a decade at the end of last year. The headline figure from the club's year-long figures up to the end of June was a turnover of £86.8million - a club record. That saw an operating profit of £5.9million - compared to an operational loss of £23.5m for the 12 months which immediately preceded it. And those figures didn't include the sales of Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo - and this season's Champions League money. The club saw a modest but important investment in players last month with the arrival of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin. The likes of Douglas Park and John Bennett have previously committed to providing additional loan facilities to meet shortfalls but Gers last year hailed the success of the player-trading model. Park wrote in his annual report notes: "Off the field, and allied to performance on the pitch, we have continued to make enormous strides. "I am delighted to be reporting a Club record turnover of £86.8m for the year to 30 June 2022. "From this revenue, we returned an Operating Profit of £5.9m which represents an improvement of £27.6m on last year’s operating loss. "This demonstrates the success and progress achieved over the last 12 months. "During the year to 30 June 2022, we have raised new equity of £10.1m and taken on new debt of £3.6m to strengthen our financial position.”

  16. Standard Liege make decision over second Rangers Nicolas Raskin bid By Christopher Jack@Chris_Jack89Senior Rangers Writer Nicolas Raskin STANDARD LIEGE have rejected a second bid from Rangers for midfielder Nicolas Raskin. Boss Michael Beale has identified Raskin as one of his key targets for the final days of the January transfer window following the capture of Todd Cantwell on a long-term deal earlier this week. Rangers have been admirers of Raskin for some time and made their move in recent days after tabling an offer to the Liege hierarchy. Sources in Belgium valued that bid at around €500,000 as Rangers were told they would need to significantly raise their offer if a deal was to be done this month. And the Ibrox board will now need to come back to the table for a third time if they are to land their man in the coming days after their follow up approach was also booted out. Beale confirmed on Friday afternoon that no pre-contract agreement had been signed to bring Raskin to Ibrox in the summer as Ross Wilson, the sporting director, focused on getting a switch over the line by the close of business on Tue Beale said: “It is not true that we have signed a pre-contract with anybody. So I can dispel that right now. “He is obviously a player we like, there are negotiations going on between the clubs. They are not the only ones we are speaking to.” The negotiations are still at an impasse, however, after Standard rebuffed a second approach from Rangers on Friday evening. The Belgian outfit - who are managed by former Celtic boss Ronny Deila - are standing firm as they attempt to get as high a fee as possible for a player that will walk away for free at the end of the campaign. Beale has been open about his eagerness to add to his squad this month but, speaking ahead of the Premiership fixture with St Johnstone, he insisted that Rangers would only do deals at the right price. Beale said: “There are a lot of players. The summer window is a much better window for us as a football club, for every football club I think. “The winter window, if you are in the market for players it seems like everyone knows you are. So it makes people be a little bit stubborn. Without talking about those two players, because there are three or four more we are speaking to, it is like if the deal is right now it is going to get done. “If the deal is not right now we will move to the summer. In the summer, with the contract situation, it does open up space in the squad. I named a lot of players there in the final third without naming the midfielders like Lundstram, Kamara and Jack. Where are all these players playing? It is a big squad. “I want the squad to be tight not too big that it becomes difficult to manage. I like to have everyone knowing that they are fighting for their way in and being keen.”

  19. Wee bit of light reading to keep you occupied. https://club1872.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Survey-Report-Rangers.pdf https://club1872.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Survey-Report-C1872.pdf
  20. Club 1872 Contributors Survey Report Dear Contributor, We are pleased to present our Contributors with the report of the recent survey carried out by Club 1872. With nearly 2500 responses, this is the largest, in depth survey of Rangers supporters carried out in many years. Statistically speaking, the number of survey responses make it hugely significant in terms of accuracy. There is a great likelihood that the survey results generally mirror the views held across the huge breadth of the Rangers support. The results form a hugely valuable source of information for the Club 1872 Board to accurately reflect the views of Contributors. The topics covered all the major areas of debate, concern and discussion amongst the Rangers support and our own Contributors at the time. It is the Club 1872 Board’s intention to hold a number of smaller surveys in 2023 based on these results. The results of this survey will now also trigger specific Contributor polls to form Club 1872 policy in a number of areas. These polls will include taking a formal position on Safe Standing, updating our position on seeking an RIFC Board place for Club 1872 to push forward fan representation at Rangers and consulting Contributors on ways in which we might improve accountability for the current custodians of the club. The survey results mirror some of the concerns that the Club 1872 Board has had in its interactions with Rangers’ Executive Team over the past two years. We hope, following Douglas Park’s public commitment to engage with Club 1872 at the recent RIFC AGM, that we will now be able to address these issues directly with the RIFC Plc Board in 2023 and help to improve the club’s general interaction and engagement with supporters, based on these results. The report is split into two sections and also contains details of actions that Club 1872 will now take based on the results. The first section relates to questions regarding Rangers and can be veiwed here - Survey Report Rangers The second relates to questions regarding Club 1872 and can be viewed here - Survey Report Club 1872 We will also shortly send the video of our Annual Contributors Meeting, which was held on Monday night, to Contributors. It will also be posted on our YouTube channel. Club 1872
