  1. I also post on another forum. As soon as I admitted to being a yes voter the attacks started. I was a phoney, nationalist troll, tim, not a real Rangers fan etc. etc. Some of it was just pure hatred, it got me to thinking do I really want to be associated with these people? In fact I stayed away from the last two home games, not because of the board (although that may come) but due to not wanting to share the same space as these bigots. Now I know that not all supporters are the same and in fact 1000's voted yes and I will be back, but we seem to have a vocal minority who attend games who have issues that are more important to them than the team.
  2. Why anyone would wish to be part of this no power talking shop is beyond me. just another divide and rule tactic by those in charge at present.
  3. BBC website Newcastle United: Mike Ashley says the club is not for sale Newcastle owner Mike Ashley says he has no plans to sell the club until at least the end of next season. It was reported on Thursday that he is ready to buy Scottish side Rangers, in which he already has a 9% stake. "The truth is Mike Ashley remains committed to Newcastle United," said a statement from the Premier League club. "This means that for the remainder of this season and at least until the end of next season, Mike Ashley will not sell Newcastle United at any price." Ashley also ruled out purchasing any further shares in Scottish Championship club Rangers. Buckinghamshire-born Ashley, who owns sports retailer Sports Direct, bought Newcastle in May 2007.
  4. Was it not 1.8M sold plus 1.8M bought? One sell one buy total 1.8M ????
  5. Full house at Ibrox just now. Wallace , Hale and Pace , Nash and McCoist has just popped in. Would love to hear what is going on. From FollowFollow.
  6. See the "tims are voting yes" diatribe is now on GERSNET. People using that as a reason to vote no, dearie me.

  8. I wonder how many have joined this fans group? We know that all ST holders are automatically members, although they could I presume tell the club to remove their names from the membership list. But how many have actually paid money to join?
  9. There is no chance of anyone who they see as being against the board, outspoken, not following the party line, or going against the grain as you put it getting anywhere near this fans board. Anyone who has these attributes would not go near this company union talking shop.
  10. This is just a talking shop, a sop to those stupid enough to believe anything this board say. Any Bear who would represent the fans correctly will get nowhere near the fan board.
  11. Not sure there is anything new in these "revelations". This report from Daily Record. Sep 23, 2012 11:27 By Anthony Haggerty 17 Comments CHIEFS planned to strip Gers of five League Cup titles in original plans to punish the club for the use of EBTs. RANGERS were going to be stripped of FIVE League Cups in the original draft document set up by the SPL to punish the club for the controversial use of EBTs. MailSport can reveal the Hampden bosses who wanted Rangers to accept the loss of five league titles and four Scottish Cups had also planned to take away five League Cup victories in return for granting the club a place in the First Division. But it’s understood the stripping of those League Cups was taken off the list of punishments after the SFL refused to enter into such a plea bargain because the Ibrox outfit had not yet been found guilty of wrongdoing over the use of EBTs Ibrox chief executive Charles Green steadfastly refused to accept any EBT sanctions in return for newco Gers getting the chance to be parachuted into Division One. And that move never came about anyway as SFL sides instead voted for Green’s club to start again in the Third Division. Our sister paper the Daily Record revealed two months ago that Hampden chiefs were planning to strip Gers of the titles and Scottish Cups won in the EBT years. But the original package of punishments also included the League Cups and would have amounted to Rangers losing 14 honours. Had the SFL ratified the punishment, Rangers would have been forced to agree to: “The withdrawal from Rangers FC, RFC and Sevco of the award and status of winner of the League Cup for each of seasons 2001/02, 2002/03, 2004/05, 2007/08, 2009/10 and 2010/11.” Lord Nimmo Smith has been appointed by the SPL to chair an independent commission into Rangers’ use of EBTs and the hearing will begin on November 13. Green is facing an SFA charge of bringing the game into disrepute after claiming the commission had decided on the punishments before the case was heard. And many fans may now be convinced that Green had a point when he said the stripping of honours had been on the SPL’s agenda since June.
  12. From The Herald. More porkies from Green. Greens tale of George Soros £10m to rangers dismissed THE billionaire financier who teamed up with a former Rangers investor to break the Bank of England has distanced himself from claims that he is involved in a £10 million investment bid at Ibrox. George Soros, one of the world's richest men, has distanced himself from claims that he is involved in a 10m investment bid at Ibrox Photograph: Getty Former Rangers chief executive Charles Green claimed he was close to raising up to £10m to plough into the financially troubled Scottish Championship club with one of the interested parties cited as Soros Fund Management. It was said the investors had already held talks with a senior Rangers official. But sources close to George Soros, 83, one of the world's richest men with a fortune worth £23 billion, insist that there is no truth in reports of him becoming involved. One briefing suggested he had instructed Green to make a move in the next seven days, which could see the former Rangers chief executive return as a director of Rangers International Football Club plc. It is understood Rangers shareholders were to be offered 20p a share - nearly 10p below the current asking price on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), part of the London Stock Exchange. If that move failed, Soros - through his Soros Fund Management vehicle - and Green were reported to be willing to offer the board a £10m loan at 5% interest. But that had the controversial condition attached of taking the Murray Park training ground as security. Green's involvement has already been met with resistance from the Union of Fans, the Rangers supporters' group, who say they would orchestrate a boycott of the club if he returned. He became an unpopular figure among fans after leading a consortium to buy the assets of the club through a £5.5m loan in June 2012 as the operating company headed to liquidation. He was forced to resign in April 2013 when allegations of business links with former owner Craig Whyte emerged, although he denied any wrongdoing. A source close to Soros said: "I think the rumour about Soros investing in the Scottish football team is false." In September 1992, Soros teamed up with Joe Lewis to make a killing by betting on the pound crashing out of the European Exchange Rate Mechanism. Their pressure forced the pound out in what is still known as Black Wednesday, and cost the Treasury an estimated £3.4bn while generating huge profits for Soros, Lewis and others. Soros was then a little-known financier but he became known as "the man who broke the Bank of England". Lewis went on to become a Rangers shareholder and was listed in 2013 as the 308th richest person on Forbes' List of billionaires and ninth wealthiest person in the UK. Announcing the investment bid, Green said: "I've got a number of people ready to invest in Rangers. "I've told people this is a great club and a great opportunity. It's one of the world's biggest brands in terms of football. "I don't want to go back to Rangers, I left unhappy last year and know it wouldn't be right to go back. However, to see where the club is now is a disaster. What I'm saying is if someone else can raise the money then great. If not, I'll do it. "I wouldn't be involved at executive level or operationally but if I bring investors in, they'll want some kind of representation on the board. That could be me or someone else." It was announced earlier this week that Rangers are looking to raise £4m through a new share issue. In 1999 the Bahamas-based Lewis bought a 25% stake in Rangers for £40m through the ENIC Group investment vehicle, only for former owner David Murray to buy back his stake in the club for almost £9m eight years later. Soros was born in Hungary but emigrated to Britain when he was 17 after the Second World War. He is believed to have made a profit of $1bn during the Black Wednesday crisis. He has a 1.9% shareholding in Manchester United and was said to have played a role in the peaceful transition from communism to capitalism in Hungary between 1984 and 1989. He provided one of Europe's largest higher education endowments to Central European University in Budapest. He is the chairman of the Open Society Foundations, which is a grant-making organisation aimed at shaping public policy to promote democratic governance, human rights, and economic, legal, and social reform. Forbes magazine lists Soros as the 27th richest person in the world and the seventh richest man in the Uited States.
  13. Merlin may indeed be off his medication but he is certainly on something.
  14. It was on FF and published in the Daily Record (if I remember correctly). Seems there is nothing new in this so far. Why are VB releasing their new information(if it is) in dribs and drabs?

    Longmuir

Did anyone spot David Longmuir at game today? Wonder why he was there?
  16. Oh dear indeed.:laugh2:
  17. The very fact that these rats found new clubs very quickly proves you wrong IMO.
  18. Nobody expected any of the so called star players to play in the 3rd division. What we did expect was a bit of loyalty, sign over and let the club acquire the reduced transfer fees that were in their contracts. Whitaker is a piece of shit , I wish him and the others nothing but bad luck.
  19. "We note with interest the comments of David Somers in the press regarding the proposed sale and leaseback of Murray Park. We would question why it is Mr Somers, and not the CEO Graham Wallace, who is making this response on behalf of the board? The phrase "plausible deniability" springs to mind. Whilst the response of Mr Somers is a fascinating insight into his "mindset" we are more interested in unequivocal, legally binding statements from the PLC board. We note these are still not forthcoming for either Ibrox or Murray Park. Mr Somers stated at the AGM that he was not against debt as long as it was 'cheap' debt. It was clear that his "mindset" at that time was that 'expensive' debt was not acceptable. Weeks later the board agreed to take extremely expensive debt from Laxey in a move which was only thwarted by fans. We are therefore not inclined to take too much heed of Mr Somers "mindset" at any given time. However, since Mr Somers appears to be the designated spokesman for the board on this topic perhaps he can clarify some more specific matters: Is Mr Somers denying that Mr Wallace and Mr Stockbridge discussed raising finance using the assets of the club as early as a few days after the AGM in December 2013, at which Mr Wallace stated the club had "enough cash for the near term"? Is Mr Somers denying that this would have been done had the asset finance not fallen through? Is Mr Somers denying that Mr Wallace and Mr Stockbridge specifically discussed raising finance using Murray Park? Is Mr Somers denying that Mr Wallace and Mr Stockbridge discussed using board relationships to raise finance against the club's property assets including some of Mr SomersÂ’ own relationships? Is Mr Somers denying that although this use of Murray Park to raise finance was not actioned at the time it was discussed that it could be used at a later date? Perhaps Mr Somers feels that two Executive directors of the Rangers board discussing raising finance on Murray Park does not constitute "board discussions"? We would disagree and remind Mr Somers of his focus on board collective responsibility when he was defending Mr Stockbridge's appalling performance at the AGM. Once again we would ask this board to stop engaging in half-truths, pedantry and wordplay and tell fans the truth."
  20. Letter sent to Rangers CEO Graham Wallace As we previously communicated with you, we contacted Graham Wallace in June requesting whether he still agreed over the "importance for clubs with ambition to own their own stadium and training centre". Sadly, we received no response so this week we have sent further correspondence to Mr Wallace. This is as follows: Dear Mr Wallace, Season Ticket Sales and the Future of Auchenhowie We note we have yet to receive a response to our email of 10/06/14 (copied below), and again write to express our concerns in regards to the above. Season ticket sales appear to be very disappointing, which is astonishing given that this season could see us return to the top flight, and will involve some potentially excellent matches against Hibs and Hearts, in what will generally be a much more competitive league. This is surely a reflection on how the fans view the performance of the board, and in particular, a reflection on some very real concerns fans have over the future of Ibrox and our training ground at Auchenhowie. We note the recent statement by the board as regards Ibrox, however, rumours continue to persist that the board are in the process of using Auchenhowie to raise funds in some way to bridge the gap left by the very disappointing level of season ticket renewals. As you are no doubt aware, the training complex is viewed as a symbol of the future by Rangers fans, and disposing of this asset in any way is likely to be counterproductive as it would lead to further disillusionment and detachment of the fans - who, it should be remembered, contributed significantly to the cost of the facility. We would therefore urge you to end this downward spiral and clarify how the board plan to address the apparent lack of confidence which the fans appear to have in them, and thus, hopefully, increase the level of season ticket renewals. We would hope an increase in season ticket uptake to a more realistic level would obviate the need for the board to resort to disposing of vital assets. We note that the first responsibility of the board is to the company and not to any individual or group of shareholders. With this in mind, you will recall the board's recent attempt to raise short term funding via a major shareholder, and that The RST was able to assist in procuring a significantly more beneficial deal for the company. Can you therefore confirm that we will be afforded a similar opportunity to obtain a better deal for the company should the board fail to raise season ticket sales and have to resort to using Auchenhowie to raise finance? We hope you will understand our concerns and the urgent need for a response. We will update members with any response we received.
  21. They should ask for £25 reduction in ST price. I'm sure that will be well received by the guys in control.
  22. All that for less than £25 what a bargain. Plus you can stand & vote in the talking shop elections, hawd me back.
  23. If you believe that this mob will give DK any influence in our club you have not been paying attention.
  24. Not too sure about that. Poor preseason plus first couple of games on Monday night & Sunday afternoon may turn some off.
