  1. It’s all one way. Most Liverpool fans are not that bothered about them or us for that matter. The ones I know do prefer us.
  2. What was that about? Don’t think I’ve ever seen a linesman/assistant come on to the park and act that way. He seemed to be aggressive to our players, and continued when we were trying to take the free kick. And he missed the foul in the first place from a couple of yards away but Ref saw it from 20 yards away.
  3. Pep Guardiola has said that he was offered Pogba and Mkhitaryn in January. Pogba: Man Utd midfielder was offered to Man City - Pep Guardiola By Simon Stone BBC Sport 32 minutes ago From the sectionMan City 180 Sharethis page Man City were offered chance to sign Paul Pogba & Henrikh Mkhitaryan - Pep Guardiola Manchester City were offered the chance to buy Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United in January, says manager Pep Guardiola. Guardiola said the pair's agent, Mino Raiola, contacted him and told him the midfielders were available. Pogba, who joined United for a then world record £89m in 2016, stayed at United as Mkhitaryan joined Arsenal. Raiola told BBC Sport he did not speak to Guardiola but did not deny telling City of the players' availability. A senior United source said they would not have sold Pogba in January, and they would not have sold him or Mkhitaryan to City. In his news conference before Saturday's Manchester derby at Etihad Stadium - when City will win the Premier League if they beat their rivals - Guardiola was asked to comment on reports that Raiola called him "a coward" and a "dog" for the way he treats people. Guardiola said: "Two months ago he offered me Mkhitaryan and Pogba to play with us. "Comparing [me to] a dog is bad - it's not good. He has to respect the dogs." 'I never spoke to Guardiola' Pogba was a regular in the United team since rejoining the club from Juventus in August 2016, but was left out of United's starting line-up for both legs of their Champions League last-16 defeat by Sevilla in February and March 2018. Spaniard Guardiola refused to say whether he was interested in Pogba but said the 25-year-old France international "is an exceptional player, a top, top player". Raiola, 50, is agent to several star players, including former Sweden and United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Italian told the BBC he is a huge admirer of Guardiola but said: "I never spoke to Pep Guardiola. I would not speak to him about players; I would speak to Manchester City. "They are a fantastic club with a fantastic manager." Armenia international Mkhitaryan, 29, joined Arsenal in the January transfer window as part of a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move in the opposite direction. 'We don't have the money to buy Pogba' Guardiola said there was "no way" a deal for Pogba would be possible. "We don't have the money to buy Pogba because he is so expensive," he said. Raiola fell out with Guardiola when he was manager of Barcelona over his treatment of Ibrahimovic, who criticised him in his autobiography. Ibrahimovic accused Guardiola of "buying a Ferrari" but driving it like "a Fiat".

  5. The "sold out" signs are up for Saturday. However it is pretty certain that -like the Killie game- there will be loads of empty seats due to many ST holders not attending. If ST holders know they are not gong to ge there on Saturday please can you make your seats available via Secondary Ticketing. We only have around 4,000 matchday tickets to sell for each game, so the number of tickets available to bears who want to attend now and again is small. Releasing seats via secondary Ticketing helps bears who want to attend. I've known a few bears who want to go along on Saturday but can't get a ticket at the moment and that's frustrating, knowing there could be a few thousand unused seats on the day. Ok, the 'financial incentive' may not be great but it's less about the money and more about giving the opportunity for fellow bears to attend and help them out.
  6. 116 years ago today: Hundreds injured and 25 dead in the first Ibrox disaster One of Britain's worst football ground tragedies is often forgotten. Today, we look back on the horror that struck Ibrox stadium 116 years ago. BY KIRSTY MCKENZIE 21:00, 4 APR 2018 April 1902: A section of the terracing which collapsed at Ibrox Park football ground in Glasgow, killing 25 people and injuring 517, during the Scotland v England match. The tragedy led to a shift from wooden terracing to earthen embankments at football grounds. (Photo by Hulton Archive/Getty Images) It was the afternoon of the British Home Championship match between Scotland and England, Saturday, April 5, 1902. Like all matches against the Auld Enemy, the atmosphere was electric. The stadium swelled with the bodies, chants and laughter of 68,000 football fans, each paying shilling entrance fee. The Scotland v England clash, the most prestigious international in the football calendar, had brought in the stadium's largest crowd to date. More than three thousand supporters travelled from Aberdeen alone and hundreds more made the journey the outskirts of Glasgow and beyond. Before that fateful day, Ibrox's 80,000 capacity had never been more than half full. The match was a tense one. Ten minutes in it looked like Scotland was set to score the first goal. The opportunity came to nothing, but reports at the time suggested that it may have been a contributory factor to the horror that would soon unfold. The Scotsman reported how the crowd pushed forward, down the terracing, as the Scots came close to scoring. The open spaces soon become filled with supporters, pressing up from the packed stairway. According to the paper, ‘an extraordinary congestion’ took place, which put an unbearable pressure on the flooring. Then, 51 minutes in, disaster struck. The start joists of the newly built West Tribune Stand began gave away and a giant hole opened up on the terracing, sending hundreds of supporters plunging towards the ground. A tangled mass of fans dropped 45 feet, tumbling through the broken boards towards the wood, steel and concrete below. For many, it proved a fatal drop. The scale of the horror was immeasurable. One father went to the Western Infirmary in the hope of finding his 25-year-old son, William Robertson and was quickly ushered to the mortuary. He was arranging the funeral when his son arrived home at Bainsford, Falkirk. Despite all this, the match continued, the teams battling it out for a 1-1 draw. Those in charge that day feared a riot would erupt if the game was abandoned and were concerned that the swelling crowds would prevent the injured from being rescued. The match was later declared void. The match was replayed at Villa Park a month later, finishing 2-2. The proceeds, £1000, went to the Ibrox Disaster Relief Funds. The final death toll was recorded as 26 with a further 587 injured. Though the horror of 1902 has faded into the cracks of time, with many unaware of the true scale of the tragedy that unfolded that day, the first Ibrox disaster reinforced the belief that the design of football grounds had to be improved. It also marks the beginning of the stadium's century of horror. Disaster was to hit Ibrox four more times over the next 70 years. On September 16, 1961, two people were killed at an Old Firm game when a wooden barrier gave way on Stairway 13. It was replaced with an iron barrier. Then, in September 1967 eight were injured in another incident. On January 2, 1969 – again on Strairway 13 at another Old Firm game – 24 were injured. None of the incidents could compare with the scale of the 1971 disaster in what proved to beBritain’s deadliest stadium disaster until Hillsborough

  10. Safe Standing Survey Results Dear Supporter, Club 1872 and the Union Bears recently held a survey into safe standing which received thousands of responses from supporters. The responses were sent to Rangers to verify the data and we have now received the figures back from the club. As a result, Rangers now have a verified list of just over 2300 supporters who are interested in being located in a safe standing section. There will also be a further opportunity for those who did not fill in the survey to give their views on safe standing in general, in an upcoming supporter survey to be carried out by Rangers. Club 1872 met last week with the Union Bears and both groups are in agreement that this is an excellent first step towards creating a positive and vibrant safe standing section within the ground. Both groups will now liaise with Rangers on the next steps and the cost of creating such a section and will also seek to give input into the club’s own survey of supporters. We would like to thank all those who took part in the survey and we will update all supporters on progress once there is something further to report. We would also remind members that any use of Club 1872 funds to help finance safe standing will be subject to a member vote. Club 1872
  11. SPFL starts on Saturday 4th August, can I assume we will be away from home on that day. Previous seasons title winners always play first game at home?
