Ha ha ha Come on Bears, we've waited 10 long years for a comfortable run-in. Sit back and enjoy. For what it's worth I reckon the bheasts will do well to win half their remaining games. They're really not very good.

I personally thought the Treble was doomed from the moment people started talking about it in Jan-Feb. Smith was spot on in his comments the other day about how people totally underestimate how tough a feat it is. I think a lot of Bears thought we just had to turn up and collect it this year, but Trebles are only ever won by pretty special sides and shouldn't be devalued by the sort of blase talk we've heard this season. Far be it from me to be positive, but a League Cup and SPL title represents a pretty fantastic season given the gloom surrounding the club last summer, and I'd have snapped your arm off for it at the time. Let Ross County have their cup.

I'm usually from the cautious, eternal pessimist school of football fan, but if Celtic were to win the league this season it would just about be the most staggering thing I've witnessed in the game. Wouldn't we have to lose about half our remaining games, with Crisis FC needing a near flawless run-in? We're far more comfortable mathematically than we were in 07-08 remember. And have you seen the bheasts lately?

FFS we're 1/500 today for the league. It's over.

You mean there's someone at Celtic who knows how to spell it???

I'd love him to stay in the job for a while longer, firstly because he's dragging Aberdeen back to the Skovdahl era, and secondly because everything that comes out of his mouth is just gold. What an absolute dick, McGhee and Abergreen - a match made in heaven.

Fulham are lucky to have one of the best British managers of the modern era, however they are also lucky to play in a league which affords them financial clout way out of line with the size of club they are. A stunning result nevertheless. But I don't think there can be much doubt a club like Rangers in similar financial circumstances would be beating teams like Juventus on a regular basis. I mean Christ, we have the third largest fanbase in the United Kingdom.

Prick! .

Could be a struggle then, hopefully there's an ex-pat bar showing it.

I don't know what channel it's on. Any chance it'll get an airing south of the border? Never missed a cup final in my life and don't want to start now.

I'm speechless. Best column I've read all season. I particularly enjoyed: "There is indeed something rotten in the state of the SPL - and it's festering away in Glasgow's East End" They've been found out for the scumbags they are this season. 2-in-row: GIRUY

Given Webster's form this season (possibly the token non-OF POTY nominee?), we would appear to have a ready-made replacement should Bougy or Weir not be at Ibrox next season. Does anyone know if he is eligible to play in games against us this season? Would be good if he wasn't facing us on Sunday.

A Tale of Integrity, Fair-mindednesss and Hypocrisy
Norris Cole replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Hear, hear. The single most vile act I've seen in the game, absolutely disgusting. They lost their mythical moral high ground forever that day. There's a poster on Vanguard with links to certain figures at Rangers who says it hasn't been forgotten. "Low" was one word apparently heard in the corridors of Ibrox. -

I'll never think anything other than Kaunas was a sacking offence. But as MF points out, the only thing you ever really have to do as Rangers manager is finish above Celtic, and for all the acres of copy written about Smith down the years it's often overlooked the absolute hex he has had over the bheasts during 10 seasons spanning 20 years. It's why they absolutely hate the man. Brady, Macari, Burns and Strachan were all seen off, and now Mowbray has been reduced to a desperate, warbling buffoon. Smith has made his fair share of shocking signings, and while I think the fact he hasn't been able to sign a player since August 2008 is part of the reason for our success since, it would be unfair to recognise the fact that this season he has produced a free-scoring, watertight defensively, side with one hand tied behind his back. It was also pretty crystal clear during the last Old Firm game that only one team was busting a gut for their manager. Again though, as MF says, if we are ever to come into a bunch of money again, I don't believe Smith is the man to be handed charge of the tiller. But that's for another thread. Agree about Alec Cleland by the way, the guy was a perfectly solid player for us for a few years. I've never quite understood why these players continually crop up when discussing our worst players. Henning Berg is another -
If it isn't Kris Boyd then it isn't a Player of the Year award. Let's face it though, we all know what these 'awards' are all about. By bheasts for bheasts. I'll take the league trophy, thanks.

Well I lost about 60 seconds of my life at the time, so I can't say for sure, but the more I think about it the more I seem to remember grabbing the back of some hard-looking guy's jacket while jumping into him in a fit of maniacal frenzy. Naturally I'd watched the entire game stood behind him without speaking a word to him. For sheer inexplicable behaviour however, it still doesn't beat that time at Pittodrie a few years back when I hugged a complete stranger and started slapping his bald head.

Now I'm not one to say football is better than sex, but click to enlarge the picture and you get an idea of what that goal on Sunday meant to the Bears. Some amazing faces. Christ alone knows what faces I was making at the time.
