Rangers 1 : 1 Valencia - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Norris Cole replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
:rf: He must dread being sent back to Pittodrie after experiencing last night. Well played Ricky. -
Crocker's just a third rate commentator, there's nothing more to it than that. Provan - and tin hat firmly on here - is IMHO a very fair and insightful pundit. Now Andy Walker........*blood pressure rises*.........

Scottish Premier League meets to discuss reconstruction
Norris Cole replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
A 16 team SPL makes far more sense than letting clubs like Dundee go to the wall. -
Rooney leaving in January for a bit of cash is the best scenario for Man Utd. He's got a shit attitude and will become just the latest in a long line of players who leave great clubs like Man Utd only to find that the grass isn't greener on the other side. Is he really going to be happier in a foreign country? He was easily one of the top players in the world last season, which was enough to make him a legend in his own head and I can see that one season being his peak. He's been dropped for two or three games this season and he doesn't have a leg to stand on given his form, yet that's enough for him to take the huff and start thinking he's bigger than the club. In a way I understand him wanting more money, if you look at the likes of Yaya Toure earning more than double what Rooney does, and the majority of the England side now on more than him, but he gets no sympathy from me. Not that I have anything for or against either, but personally I'd rather play for a proper club like Man Utd than a Hollywood freakshow like City. I'd find a way of getting by on £90k at Utd I'm sure.

Oops, I meant penalties at Parkhead Don't get in the way of my paranoia
-
It would be interesting to know the number of penalty kicks the bheasts have been awarded in OF games since we last had one. Around six or seven? McGeady at Ibrox last season springs to mind fairly quickly, as does the bheasts whinging after the match that they didn't get two more . We can't ever have gone a decade without getting a penalty in an OF match before, and this in an era when we play them around 5 times a season. There will be 10-year-old Rangers fans who have never seen their team take a penalty against the glue-sniffers, and some people still don't think there's an agenda...

Can't disagree with any of that. In the light of Adam's good form in the EPL these sorts of threads were inevitable, but people often overlook the fact that Rangers are in fact a better side than Blackpool, therefore he always had a better chance of standing out down the road than at Ibrox in a team full of internationals. With players like Davis, McCulloch, Naismith etc. nobody would expect Walter to build a team around Charlie Adam, which is exactly what Holloway has done at Blackpool. Always good to see Bears do well wherever they are, and for all that some questioned his attitude at Rangers, he seemed a decent sort and never went in the huff despite attracting far more stick than Ferguson and Boyd ever did.

1 -1 (Miller)

I'm going to go for early doors, to settle the foaming hordes. Within the first 15 minutes. A Rangers red card is also an absolute given.
-
Fantastic. Yet again, no need for a team talk. They will never, ever learn.

41,905 according to the Beeb. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/9038867.stm Mind you the BBC are hardly pro-Rangers....
-
Because it's only sectarian if it's anti-Catholic.
-
That's right. 41,905. I make our capacity around 51,000.

McGregor, the BBC, SFA and the wider implications

£5m? Double it and come back to the table. -
Perhaps if the club didn't charge stupid money there would be interest. 10,000 empty seats for the opening CL fixture at Ibrox this season tells its own story.

Another injury blow for the Champions

I think it's the next game at Tannadice after the 28th Nov or nothing - with each passing Rangers game at Tannadice that passes without a boycott, the message loses a bit of force.
-
Dissapointing to hear TSB, although I'd echo MF's sentiments that your fight was a worthwhile one and it was long overdue that a group of Rangers supporters got together and decided enough is enough. I'm sure DUFC didn't expect a case to be brought against them over this and doing so will have pissed them off no end and, we must hope, made them think again about their treatment of supporters, nay, customers. I'd love to think this sort of concerted action is the start of something in terms of the Rangers support at large getting together and standing up for themselves, but if the RST hasn't been able to co-ordinate itself into a viable force in the four or five years of its existence, I can't expect it to happen anytime soon. That's not to start an RST 10-pager, it's just frustrating when you see how far one RSC can get when it puts its mind to it when we have a body supposed to represent every one of us continually failing to live up to its raison d'etre. A boycott of just one match at Tannadice would be a huge statement IMO.

Anyone else find it interesting the number of times the word "sectarian" gets mentioned in that article? I don't think the BBC and Record stories on Paton & Diamond said it once. Strange that.

Hope he's back for the Piggery, he'd be as big a miss as Jelavic for that one. And that's something I didn't see myself saying a couple of years ago.

Footballer disciplined over Queen comment A PROFESSIONAL footballer from Londonderry has been reprimanded by his club after sectarian comments against the Queen appeared on the internet. Dean Jarvis, 18, a Roman Catholic who plays for Aberdeen Football Clubââ?¬â?¢s youth team, ââ?¬Å?rather stupidly put an ââ?¬Ë?ftqââ?¬â?¢ at the end of a message on his Facebook siteââ?¬Â, a spokesman for the club said. The comment appeared last month as part of a discussion about Protestants in relation to the popeââ?¬â?¢s visit to Scotland. The messages were posted on Jarvisââ?¬â?¢ Facebook page between September 16 and September 19. On September 16, Pope Benedict conducted an open-air mass at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. During the thread, other Facebook members, including another member of Jarvisââ?¬â?¢ team, made further sectarian comments including ââ?¬Å?No prods in Bellahoustonââ?¬Â. Last night, East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell hit out at the youth player ââ?¬â?? who is also a Northern Ireland youth international ââ?¬â?? for ââ?¬Å?allowing this sectarian debate or discussion to be carried on his siteââ?¬Â. ââ?¬Å?He needs to be extremely cautious about what he allows on his site and the football club who are his employers ââ?¬â?? and who have taken acton against other players on sectarian issues ââ?¬â?? should take action in this instance as well and ask for an explanation and an apology.ââ?¬Â Last week, it emerged that two Aberdeen FC stars ââ?¬â?? Michael Paton and Zander Diamond ââ?¬â?? had posted sectarian comments on Facebook, again around a discussion on the popeââ?¬â?¢s visit to Scotland. Aberdeen Football Club confirmed that the postings have now been removed and the players ââ?¬Å?spoken toââ?¬Â. Last night, Aberdeen FC spokesman Dave MacDermott said: ââ?¬Å?I personally spoke to Dean when he was over in Germany last week to explain exactly why this is not acceptable. ââ?¬Å?He rather stupidly put an ââ?¬Ë?ftqââ?¬â?¢ at the end of a message on his Facebook site. ââ?¬Å?Perhaps we need to educate the youth team a little more. But we have instructed them about showing respect to faiths etc etc. We obviously have to tighten up on it and reiterate it more often.ââ?¬Â Mr MacDermott added: ââ?¬Å?What we can do, which we are doing, is in no uncertain terms bring disciplinary action because it is bringing Aberdeen FC into disrepute.ââ?¬Â http://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/Footballer-disciplined-over-Queen-comment.6577972.jp

I'm sure Pat Nevin blamed Whittaker for two Spain goals last night, so I'm guessing that was probably a sign of things to come today.

I think that prospect is the reason Alexander recently signed a new contract. Danny Wilson.
