  1. I remember reading an interview with Steven Whittaker in which he was asked why he was teetotal. He simply replied that it was a short career and he had many years to drink after retiring if he wished.
  2. 3-1 Rangers. Quite confident, with no basis whatsoever.
  3. Man Utd will stretch their lead and win the league comfortably. West Ham, Wigan and Wolves to go down. So ends another season in the dullest football competition in Europe.
  4. Just look at McCoist! :robbo:
  5. We don't have the defence to play one up front in Europe this year. Our route to the final in 2008 was based around Cuellar, Weir and McGregor, who for long periods were impassable. This year we can't afford to spend 80% of games defending. We're going to have to defend higher up and go for it at the right times. Diouf in particular has a big part to play IMO.
  6. They'll be a tough nut to crack but PSV aren't to be overly feared IMO and we should really be going all out to beat them. I'm guessing they're a shade above Sporting - perhaps Pete can comment? From the Quarter Final stage in any major competition, anything can happen. As wary as I am of the fixture pile-up and undermining our SPL chances, there really is nothing to beat the excitement of an extended European run.
  7. Rangers were cheated in 2007/08, we all know that. 2008/09 was a fine achievement, though those who remember Easter Road will know how close we came to blowing it. But under Walter MkII, we've only been comprehensive against Celtic last season, when we were up against a laughable bheast outfit of the early 90s variety. Celtic have never been better than average since O'Neill.
  8. I donââ?¬â?¢t think weââ?¬â?¢ll ever find out how good a manager Ally McCoist could be for Rangers because he isnââ?¬â?¢t going to be given a chance to build any sort of team. Walter Smith has had some fine moments and won us nine in a row but when he came back, this time without the money to burn, he struggled against a Celtic side who youââ?¬â?¢d place somewhere between pisspoor and average. We could have Mourinho in the dugout but heââ?¬â?¢d struggle to win the SPL with a board who wonââ?¬â?¢t allow (cash) signings for two years. The team is in dire need of a complete rebuild and until that takes place, the issue of who is manager is largely irrelevant. Look at Chelsea - Abramovich stopped signing a couple of seasons back and with their team left to age and stagnate theyââ?¬â?¢re running the risk of failing to qualify for the CL for the first time in 8 years. Those, and Iââ?¬â?¢ve a feeling there are many, who are going to spend the next few months on McCoistââ?¬â?¢s back should do us all a favour and see the bigger picture ââ?¬â?? if you feel so strongly about McCoist as Rangers manager, rip up your ST renewal form and hasten the downfall of the regime which is decaying our club at an alarming rate. I donââ?¬â?¢t envy McCoistââ?¬â?¢s position. Heââ?¬â?¢s taking over with everything stacked against him. On the other hand, he wouldnââ?¬â?¢t be anywhere near the Rangers managerââ?¬â?¢s office were we not in the financial mess weââ?¬â?¢re in, so heââ?¬â?¢ll view it as a great opportunity and as a Rangers man could never be expected to turn it down. Iââ?¬â?¢ll make a prediction here and now that, barring a miraculous takeover, Ally McCoist wonââ?¬â?¢t win a league championship as Rangers manager. Thatââ?¬â?¢s partly because our owners are taking the piss out of him, but also because for backs-against-the-wall, win-at-all-costs, us-against-them-ery, Lennon has his number. That being what it is, he was my childhood hero and will get nothing but my wholehearted support as Rangers manager.
  9. Heavens you're dull.
  10. When do they not? It's why they're losers. We'll just keep celebrating in May. One positive from last night is it dents Abergreen's hopes of a Top 6 finish, thereby denying Clarification FC a free 3 points in the run-in.
  11. All players Holloway picked were in Blackpool's Premier League-registered pool of 25. Someone should now ask the Premier League how they define "weak" players, explaining how many of those players picked for Blackpool on the day were "weak" and why. Joke decision from a joke organisation. I can't believe more fans haven't walked away from this tedious freakshow of a league.
  12. I take a fair bit of what comes out of VB with a pinch of salt, but that was just a brilliant, honest article. Cumbernauld I really don't know what your problem is. FO took the time to write something that pisses all over anything FF has come up with in years - if it's "pointless" at least explain why.
  13. Blood pressure Neil, blood pressure....
  14. For a start, it's the last position we need reinforcing. I wouldn't want him back, at the moment anyway - I'm by no means anti-Boyd but we've improved as a team since he left and I'm not sure we'd want to jeapordise that.
  15. It just gets better. Laughing all the way to the SPL trophy bhoys.
  16. I'm away for two days.... Merry Christmas all
  17. Pit a line oan
  18. Apart from a brief renaissance under Martin O'Neill, Celtic have been a soft touch for about 25 years. You should know what second best is like by now Thomas.
  19. As I always say, points in the bag are better than games in hand. That said, the bheasts are only ever a couple more bad games away from implosion. It's actually starting to feel a bit like last season, the only difference being they've managed to stay with us a bit longer.
  20. I notice we never win titles, they hand them to us. GIRUY timmy
  21. I await the game's cancellation for the first dead K-list celebrity of 2011.
  22. That barely merits a response. For starters, both Rangers and Celtic would have 32 meaningless games a season. Idiots. The bheasts will love it though, gives them a chance of winning the title.
  23. :boogie:
  24. Take a chill pill timmy, life's too short
