  1. Sad but unfortunately true for many of us. I honestly had no idea this game was coming up until I opened the thread. I'm not bothered what the result is, which certainly wouldn't have been the case 20 years ago.
  2. Kiernan. Ugh. Could be a long afternoon chaps. Pity about Wilson as he had been improving. Otherwise reasonably happy with that starting line-up, particularly Holt, Windass, Miller, and Tavernier relieved of defensive duties. Good to see Dodoo and Garner on the bench, could be a role for both. Funnily enough I found myself in agreement with Scott Brown yesterday. This should be a different game to last month. We're underdogs but if we're smart and if we're up for it, we can do this. Odds of 5/1 the Rangers win are laughable. 3/1 maybe.
  3. I've started wondering whether he's the new Templeton. You would have thought that in these financially strained times, if we're going to fork out half a million pounds on a player, it's for someone earmarked to be a focal point of the team.
  4. You just wonder what the hell is going on there.
  5. It's pretty poor isn't it. I'm just thankful they managed to write an article about the Hamburg support without labelling them 'sectarian'.
  6. To paraphrase Brendan Rodgers, they are strange human beings. Last week it was Kenny Miller being abused in Asda, now another of our players being accosted while out with his wee boy. What kind of sub-80 IQ mentality does this sort of stuff? As a previous poster said, I wouldn't give a toss if I saw, say, Scott Brown in Tesco. But hey, this is the atmosphere in Scotland in 2016, with the full congruity of the powers that be. Am I being paranoid, or has the atmosphere in Scotland gotten nastier since the SNP won a majority in the Scottish Parliament?
  7. I can agree with those odds on a Celtic win. But the odds on Rangers are ridiculous. To the bookies, Bears!
  8. Is that so? Interesting. I have to admit I've always had a soft spot for Ajax, having read books such as 'Ajax, The Dutch, The War', 'Ajax, Barcelona, Cruyff', and 'Brilliant Orange'. It's just that when I think of Feyenoord I think of 2002. I remember looking at both their fans and team and thinking, 'It's like Celtic but in red and white shirts.' Do they still sing "Hamas, Hamas, Jews to the gas"?
  9. Indicative of how out of the loop I've become I guess. The guy from Preston
  10. "What kind of chromosomes made you, ya state."
  11. Proper football, where you smell the Deep Heat, hear the crunch of the tackle, and accept that the pie will keep you on the pan for a week.
  12. Please take that picture of my wife down now.
  13. As I posted in another thread, I'd start with both Miller and Gardner. Don't know what it is about that Gardner lad but something tells me he has something. I also have a lot of trust in Warburton, and it has been many a year since we've forked out 1.6m on a player.
  14. I know what you mean. I couldn't have been the only neutral willing Wednesday over the line last season. They will always be a more inspiring prospect than the likes of Middlesborough.
  15. You'd need a good reason for leaving Miller out given his record in OF games.
  16. Head says: Foderingham Tavernier Senderos Wilson Wallace Rossiter Halliday Holt Windass Miller Garner Heart says: Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir Weir
  17. Whether it's Foderingham or Gilks between the sticks is totally irrelevant IMO. Two competent goalkeepers. That's not where the game will be won or lost.
  18. There are shades of 1993/94 for sure. But I'm more concerned at the gaping holes in our defence which remain unfixed.
  19. I have a feeling you're right. Ran riot in the Championship, but in the SPL he looks like, well, a former Wigan squad player.
  20. Pretty good statement that.
  21. Feyenoord? Good god man, have a word with yourself.
  22. I did find it strange that after three months people were still saying things like "Krancjar looks like he's getting closer to fitness".
  23. Aw whit? Bad news. He seemed to be slowly coming on to a game. We're due a huge slice of luck soon.
  24. Not that I would wish to paper over any cracks, but while we absolutely deserved to get beat that day, that could easily have been a single goal defeat. My one criticism of Warburton, who I am a big fan of, is that he has now had a fair bit of time to sort out our glaring issues in defence without any sign of improvement. In 25 years of following Rangers, I can't remember such a sustained period of shipping goals. Thankfully that is also Celtic's weakness. 12 goals shipped in three CL fixtures. Unfortunately Celtic v Rangers in 2016 equates to Celtic v Hibs/Dundee/Motherwell in 2006. I don't see us getting a doing like last time. In fact I think we can win it. But I'd be lying if I said I was brimming with confidence. How can you be with that defence? Windass and Miller must start.
