  1. From STV article: "The notes state that in 2013 the first team payroll is to constitute 26% of all revenues with it currently sitting at around £7.5m, which will reduce to 18% of all revenues in the next two years as Cenkos predicts turnover to hit £46.5m by 2015" I think as usual there's a bit of a negative spin in the reporting of this. A wage cap is surely sensible after what we've just been through. The 33% of turnover being less than half of what the rest of SPL clubs spend is a red herring though, as their turnover is much less than ours. Anyway, why would the example of what the rest of the failing SPL clubs do be something for us to aim for? The increase in ST prices is also something that you would have to expect as we go up through the leagues. Not convinced the dividend idea is a great thing though, but I suppose that means that the club will have to be run profitably in future.
  2. From the BBC News site: The old Rangers Football Club owed more than £94m in unpaid tax and penalties, according to its administrators. The final report to creditors from Duff and Phelps reveals that the size of HM Revenue and Customs claim against the club totalled £94,426,217. It also shows that the administrators are claiming £3,121,683 in fees. Creditors have until 12 October to vote on the report. When the administration period ends, the old Rangers FC will be placed in the hands of liquidators BDO. Rangers was forced into administration by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on 14 February over non-payment of tax totalling about £14m. Third Division Craig Whyte, who bought the club from Sir David Murray last year, was successful in having his nominated firm, Duff and Phelps, appointed. Continue reading the main story Rangers crisis explained Rangers went into administration owing up to £134m to unsecured creditors. As a result its registrations with the Scottish FA and Scottish Premier League were terminated. Charles Green led a consortium which bought Rangers' assets for £5.5m. The former Sheffield United chief executive reformed Rangers as a new company. The 'newco' did not get the required votes for re-admittance to the SPL and started life in Scottish Division Three. Following a hearing at the Court of Session, David Whitehouse and Paul Clark were appointed as joint administrators of the club. After HMRC rejected proposals for a creditors agreement that would have allowed the old club to continue, Duff and Phelps negotiated a sale of assets to a consortium led by Charles Green for £5.5m. He has since formed a new club which is playing in the Scottish Football League Third Division. In its final report to creditors, Duff and Phelps states: "The joint administrators have continued to review the claims made by HMRC in the administration. "The claims are largely made up of determinations issued by HMRC in accordance with Regulation 80, penalties and outstanding PAYE/NIC. "The joint administrators have adjudicated on these claims and confirmed to HMRC that for voting purposes, their claim will be admitted for voting purposes at £94,426,217.22." The majority of that figure relates to the old club's use of Employee Benefit Trusts (EBTs), on which HMRC claimed unpaid tax and penalties in excess of £49m. October judgement A judgement on an appeal of this assessment, which was heard at a First Tier Tax Tribunal, is imminent. The creditors report notes: "An outcome has yet to be determined by the tribunal and is currently expected in October 2012." Among the resolutions which creditors are being asked to approve is Duff and Phelps' fees. The report states: "That the creditors approve the remuneration, expenses and outlays of the joint administrators in respect of all accounting periods not previously approved, being, in respect of remuneration only, £2,930,644 for the period 14 February 2012 to 29 June 2012 and £191,039 for the period 10 August 2012 to 14 September 2012."
  3. I could never take to Whyte for some reason, but never thought he would do what he did. However, theres something I like about Green. Don't know what it is and I could be totally wrong but I think he'll do alright. His statements are no nonsense and seem genuine. Just glad we are playing football again, though I don't think or problems are over yet while Rhegan, Doncaster and Liewell are about.
  4. He's been immense through this but he needs more people to come out in public and stand up to the corruption thats going on.
  5. I agree. While I think he could probably do a job in the 3rd div, this stinks of a pr stunt and he'd probably be playing for free because there would be a tv camera following his every move for a new reality tv programme or it would be for a new book or something. FFS this is the best chance we'll ever have of nurturing a team of youngsters for the future. No has-beens please or we are just going back to square one!
  6. I know its probably been said many times before and maybe it's too simple, but why cant Kennedy, McColl and all the 'Rangers' men who care so much about the club get together and invest to get their 15% each. There must be enough of them that they would then own most of the club. It seems that they care more about being in charge on their own for an ego trip, than joining together for the good of our team.
  7. Thats wot i thot, why wud ticketus nd paid?
  8. From SSN, not sure if it's already been posted: Dorin Goian is targeting an Ibrox departure after the Rangers newco was voted into the third division of Scottish football. The defender's revelation marks a big U-turn after he vowed to remain at the financially-stricken club on Friday. The Romanian, who joined Rangers from Palermo last summer, had pledged to stay if the club were allowed into the First Division. But he quickly announced his intention to quit after 25 Scottish Football League clubs voted to admit Charles Green's Rangers in the bottom tier. No question Goian told Romanian media: "I am not playing at the fourth level - there's no question of that. "I am on my way back and I will meet the president of the club and I will learn more. "My agent has already spoken with other teams but nothing has been agreed yet. "I would have stayed if it was the First Division - but not this." No surprise really, no chance he would stay at that level.
  9. “Ultimately, there must be an outcome that enables Scottish football to move on with consensus, clarity and confidence into a new era for the national game.” So, try to force Rangers into an SPL 2.
  10. I love their statements. As good as calling regan and doncaster liars. How they are still in a job beggars belief!
  11. My god, they even want to alienate another team who isn't even directly involved in all this, just out of pure hatred. I don't particularly like Michael Johnston but at least he didn't follow the pack. It's more like the school playground!
  12. While I really hope that we stay in the SPL WITHOUT sanctions as Tannochsidebear said, I fear Green may agree to anything to keep us there, as that would make us a whole lot more valuable.
  13. Couldn't care less what pish Fleck comes out with, he's one player I won't miss.
  14. Why doesn't Malcolm Murray do more talking and tell Charles Green to take a back seat? I think more people would believe what he says than the things that Green comes out with. At least Murray sounds like a genuine fan of the club.
  15. Whyte, Green, Brown......gets more like a game of Cluedo everyday! You couldn't make it up.
  16. Maybe I'm being niave but why can't all these 'Rangers men' get together if the club means so much to them and put in an offer that can't be refused and with a plan that the fans would all want to follow. Or do all the 'Rangers men' that are about not even trust each other. FFS, please somebody get their act together as this is a complete nightmare.
  17. "SN: I spoke to Ally McCoist. He didn't try to talk me out if it and wished me all the best. I think he'll stay " What can Ally say to them? He has no idea what league we will be playing in next year, if we are playing at all. He could only hope that the players hung on for as long as possible, but as I expected most of them want to know they've still got big wages coming in. I'm gutted today, but whats new!
  18. “In the event of serious financial difficulty, the board will have to look to the members, shareholders and supporters to step up their support for the club and the Well Society. This is likely to be in the form of increased prices, higher attendances and further Society memberships and contributions." At last, somebody telling their fans the truth. Basically, if you vote out of hatred rather than common sense you will put your own club into administration. As we all know you won't put any more money in, because you care more about fucking up Rangers than you do supporting your own team.
  19. This must be an absolute nightmare for the chairmen of these clubs. Their fans are screaming for us to be kicked out and the chairmen probably want that too but they know if they vote like that, its basically condemning their clubs to be in administration before the seasons out. You couldn't make it up! It's only a matter of time before they are needing our help again and I hope we remember how they treated us.
  20. I would accept Div 1 as long as there were no other 'sanctions' made up to punish us more. There are a few teams in that league that would give us a good game. It might not be as easy as we'd like to think in Div 1 depending on what players we can keep. I also think the fans would turn out in much larger numbers than if we were to drop to Div 3. I'm not sure we could prosper dropping down that far, given we still have Ibrox, Auchenhowie to run and staff wages to pay.
  21. This is a disgrace if true. Ally was only one left that i would rely on to do the best for the club.
  22. Agreed Andy, it's the lack of business morality thats got us in this shit mess!
  23. That made me laugh, but its either that or cry. Can't believe I was feeling better since Miller was named preferred bidder. What an idiot.
  24. What a fucking shambles. An utter disgrace that we are still no closer to survival at such a late stage.
  25. What happens now? Is it too late for BK and TBK's to bid again? Would they evn want to?
