As @Malangsob stated we are moving towards the US sporting system of major divisions having teams populated by farm affiliates playing at lower level. The others seem younger when they moved which usually inflates transfer value. I've not done any research but i reckon when a player hits 23 transfer value peaks and drops after this. Teams just love paying big for potential. Fabio Silva and Ahmad Diallo great examples of this.
