Dortmund was an outlier, if we had played them 10 times we would probably have lost 5 times, drawn a couple and won a couple. Leipzig too, I think they were spooked by the occasion that night at Ibrox while our team rose to it, it was a perfect storm. Red Star Belgrade and Braga no. Even Frankfurt were not a big spender in comparison to many German teams at the time. But like I say that team we had that made it to the Europa league was paid more, had been bought for more and had gelled more than what we have now. I think there is some revisionism for many supporters around Gerrard and our run to Seville. The getting a hiding from a very expensively assembled Lyon at Ibrox is just how it is. And everyone needs to pull up the big boy trousers and look forward to Sunday and 3 points, and longer term reinforcements in January's transfer window.

Sorry, but I cant understand that logic. Their league form is nothing to do with our ability to beat them considering they will play better teams than us most weeks. I think so many Rangers fans are stuck in some parallel universe to me where we should be beating sides like Lyon for fun. You will enjoy the games v Man U and Spurs. Clubs who trade players for more than our entire club is worth.

Other than Sima, no player that left improves this team. Maybe Silva, but over Cerny not Bajrami. Most of the guys who left were regressing rapidly.

Our level is against teams with similar financial clout playing in similar leagues regardless of what European competition they are in. There are teams in the CL we could take.

Lyon have a squad packed with quality. They have players on the bench that they have paid more than we paid for our entire starting XI. But have they played well? No not really. Disappointed to be a goal down tbh.

Bajrami is good. Should be the minimum level of quality for a wide attacking player or a #10 for us.
