The answer is pretty obvious to me that we play in a way that leaves us open but if players win the duels then it should be an issue. Soutter lost his on Sunday and we lost the game.

I liked the question being asked, and how he didn't back down when challenged by the manager. But does anyone think the manager is going to come out and explain in any detail what his gameplan is and how we will beat teams?

The club set expectations in the summer with the downsizing and the new contract for the manager. Not sure what the support were expecting.

Well done to Stevie Clifford asking him that question, its not easy to put yourself out there and ask something that the manager wont want to hear. Or the usual cookie cutter guff for the usual suspects like Raman and Kheridine.

We didnt get lucky with Aribo, he was highly rated and expensive. Kamara and Sakala were good signings yes. Bassey was a fantastic signing. Now list the ones that were crap and a waste of money. If you have a spare 48 hours.

Maybe he would, I think he would be an improvement but I will never change anyone's mind. He would definitely be cheaper which would fit in well with our current aggressive downsizing.

How is this possible if losing possession is so bad?

When we harvest the magic money tree, we can buy better players than Shankland. The money wasted on Danilo and Dessers is criminal.

I've not seen any stats possession so I wont comment on them. I'll just comment on the eye test from what I saw from him last season. I have also seen him play as a #10 which is remarkable for a guy that stats say cant retain possession. In the extreme case that all he offers is lower wages and low fee then yes he is still a better option than Dessers. RE: stats. I'm not entirely sure Shankland is that motivated to play for Hearts this season. An issue I'm sure we all all more than familiar with, from our own team last few seasons.

Sakala was also a win. A guy we got for free, paid a small sign on, paid around half of what we were paying Lundstram and then sold for 4million after 2 years. We need to do more of the small wins like Sakala, the big wins will take care of themselves.

If we could shift Dessers for 3-4 million in January and sign Shankand(who I don't think is particularly great tbh) for 500k and pay him 15k per week that's an instant upgrade for me. That's how bad he is. We also need to stop signing centre backs that are soft as sh**e like Propper. I also lost count, the number of times Cerny could have went in to tackle his man and he just didn't bother and backed off, backed off a few 50/50's too. That's pointless.
