I am thankful for all he has done but he is becoming noise that we don't need. Not to mention leaking stuff to the Daily Record last week, get that in the bin.

Agree with this, enjoy the occasion. If we go out then we focus on the league & cup. We have made Europe post xmas which was always the goal. -

Barca for me. Atalanta and Sevilla only teams I think we wouldn't beat. -
Itten has not really been playing much recently for Gruther after starting initially. You have to wonder if a guy that cant get a game for the worst side in Germanys top flight (by some distance) is good enough for us. He has showed flashes of what he can do. I have also heard he struggled to settle in Glasgow on a personal level. We knew the injury issues that came with Roofe when we bought him and he is a very good player, but as with Helander there is no point having quality players on the treatment table. We need them on the park.

Aribo again stepping up and getting a goal. Delighted at how much he has improved his final ball/finishing recently. This guy can get better too. Will attract attention in January, -
Connor Goldson for me. Solid. Borna should have done better to stop the cross for the own goal IMO. Harsh? Maybe. But it is what it is.

Lyon have been a total let down domestically. The managers coat may be on a shaky peg. I expect them to rest and rotate heavily and focus on their league game at the weekend. Wonder if Dembele Dollars will play, he has barely made an appearance this year. The manager preferring to play attacking midfielders and wingers up front over him. I expect us to rotate and keep key assets available for Sunday. -
Official: Zeb Jacobs confirmed as Academy Head of Coaching
Sutton_blows_goats replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
A really bold appointment. A very young guy with some new ideas around coaching. We have an issue bringing through youth players but the last few years the club have done lots of work in the background to try and change things. Can only give them credit for that. -
They spent circa £40 million on two new centre halves in the summer. And around 9 Million on the lad from Celtc. I dont want to belittle other clubs but they sum up the term 'nothing club' for me. Will never compete for, or win anything. Just yo-yo from championship and Premiership. But have the cash and players can live in London so its a massive attraction.

There is a real risk with the current Helander/Balogun situation. Both seem to be extremely prone to missing games through injury. Helander long term injuries and Balogun short term. Given we cant yet rely on Simpson I think we may see some personnel changes in January. -
This is the reality of where we are. If he goes for a big fee either this winter or next summer he will go down as a fantastic signing. I even think if Goldson walks this summer for free he is still in terms of transfer fee paid, weekly wage and number of games played per season at a high standard a very good signing.

Agree with this. From the boys perspective, he is not playing for us and teams have offered good money for him and will likely pay him far better than us. If anyone comes in for him gut feel he is gone. Also the way Aribo is playing can see him going to EPL. The lower-mid tier of EPL transfers will probably kick start this winter now that things are getting back to some normality. A Watford/Leeds/Southampton for example could quite easily splash £15 million on him. Not sure we knock that back given his contract is running down.

Rangers accounts analysed (Swiss Ramble)
Sutton_blows_goats replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I think the people at Sky must assume the large volume of Scottish subscribers pay for the premiership and championship and just watch the SPFL stuff because its on. The complete contempt Sky have for our game is unreal. The end to end product they put together is so half hearted compared to the EPL. No studio analysis with tactics and graphics and visuals etc. No touch screen (although that's style over substance) and on some occasions no post match. Just cut to the next game if an EPL or championship game is on. They barely advertise or market our game during the EPL or championship content either IMO. -
Aribo was superb and he is developing as a real threat.
-
Great 3 points yesterday. Felt like an old school routine 3-0 home win from the good old days when we were racking up trophies. Aribo is really developing into a player with a final product to back up everything else he offers. Manager got the midfield spot on yesterday. Sakala looked a constant threat. Needs more composure in front of goal and he will really take his game to the next level. I have no idea how the wee skinny fat guy was not sent off. The referee needs to call the game as he sees it and not with some kind of context he clearly applied. That's the only reason I can think of for the boy not walking. In fact I have no idea what their manager was thinking involving him, he comes with too much baggage V us and doesn't offer anything on the park.

Yeah I'm not sure I can follow JR's logic, if there was contact then the player was fouled and its a penalty. Jack Ross is turning into a bit of a parody with some of his post match comments defending the indefensible actions. Like the recent sending off at Ibrox. Good to be here, very sensible posts and no real hyperbole or wild stuff -
Ive picked Aribo but really couldn't justify it if pressed. The Goldson clearance in the second half was great but he didnt have a great night. Kent won the penalty, got a few decent shots off well but had a poor night other than that.

Linked with Xavi Simons of PSG https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/nuevo-posible-destino-xavi-simons-12930999 - twitter feed link Supposedly the boy and his agent (a certain Mino Raiola) want him playing 1st team football. Id imagine if we were to get a deal arranged it would come with caveats of 1st team football. He is available on a free. It would probably be similar to the Boumsong arrangement where the player would come here, play well and win a big money move elsewhere with player & agent making a big % of the transfer fee. I wouldn't be against that and the agent would ensure a decent fee for the boy I'm sure.

Terrific result and a very good ground out win. Penalty was a stonewaller have no idea how anyone can contest that decision. Didn't think we were great by any means and I'd struggle to pick a MOTM if pushed. But I don't think Hibs troubled us at all. -
Having sat in the enclosure, seated directly behind supporters in wheelchairs for two seasons (that's all I could last before moving) the view from there is not great. Ideally we should be able to allow wheelchair access supporters better viewpoints in the stadium. I know it has challenges due to mobility and fire escapes etc But there must be a way. And I believe the club needs to prioritise this over any safe standing initiatives as much as that wont go down well with some.

From what I've heard so far it was a bit of a standard AGM with a few points covered we already knew about, stance on selling players, further investment etc. How great is it to have an AGM pass by almost un-noticed after recent years.
