  1. Roofe posting on Instagram getting acupuncture on his calf. Never a good sign. I think Itten deserves another chance as a central striker/Number 9. I'm unconvinced on Soutter but low fee and moderate wage makes it less of a risk.
  2. Just another link i don't think has been mentioned on here. We are supposedly interested in signing Benjamin Siegrist from Dundee United on a bosman. Southampton also interested. As a backup I'd take him. Give him a chance to be #1. We have been linked with Zander Clark but i think Siegrist is probably the better of the two. Would like Robby McCrorie can step up too.
  3. I hope Kent extends. I don't think his recent form gets him the move he would ideally want in the summer. He was linked with Leeds after last season for example, i don't think that link will be there in the summer unless he ups his performances.
  4. Agree on the first point. Skov Olsen has all the markings of a player lined up for a loan to buy. Trouble is Bologna aren't flush with cash and will much prefer to sell. But they don't use the player in the correct position and he wants first team football so will likely move. As you state the other teams in for him if serious will force our hand. I think Doehki would rather see the next 6 months out at Vitesse and take the 2 million(as an example) as a signing on fee rather than move now, see Vitesse take a big chunk of that 2 million. I'm sure Stewart Robertson admitted the Aribo transfer cost us over 2 million despite the player only costing about £200k in development fees. I'd guess that the reason Lundstram is on such a high wage(if the rumours are to be believed) is due to us not having the finance to give him a big sign on fee in the summer. So we broke it down over his contract. I think ideally we would give a signing like that a big sign on fee and lower wage. Its a much lower risk.
  5. In the summer when they have 1 year left(both contracted to 6/2023) and don't want to renew not sure we will have much choice but to sell and replace them. Or lose on a free.
  6. I think we might get him on a loan to buy then buy in the summer after selling some players. Perhaps kent and Aribo.
  7. The twitter account posting that looks suspicious but not as suspicious as the poster on FollowFollow who claims he made up the rumour 2 years ago and multiple news agencies from various countries including Denmark and Italy have ran with it since. Not sure we have 7.5 million to spend, but we spent that on Kent (or there abouts).
  8. I'm not a massive fan, but we are needing a right winger. I think 3 million for a 28 year old is a bit much though. Would have no resale value. Pros - rapid, proven SPFL player, scores goals Cons - diving, Pace merchant maybe not so good against the 'park the bus', his hair transplant looks painted on
  9. The wage stuff is conjecture yes, but we cannot afford to have a high earner not be a key player who plays every week(I'd aim the same criticism at Roofe for different reasons). I'm not questioning his quality as a player at this point. Under Gio so far he has hardly played. Things change quickly in football, he could get in the team for the next game, perform well and cement his place in the team for the rest of the reason. From what i have seen so far i doubt it. Add to the mix we have just signed a boy who can play DM.
  10. I think we have lost on the Lundstram bosman. Reportedly 30k+ a week and doesn't fit into our team anywhere. He(Soutter) is a good ball player but has a tendency to switch off(Aribos goal at Tynecastle a good example). The injury record is the main concern though.
  11. Really interested to see where he will play for us, if its at CB or DM. Would be surprised if CB as we are well stocked and Leon King needs a path to the first team. But then he may be brought in to take over from goldson. DM is probably Kamaras role but then there may be games where we want Kamara and another DM to keep things a bit tighter. Gio keeps us guessing thats for sure.
  12. Yeah, think players like that are not worth it in the long run. Then there is the question mark over his ability. Is he good enough for us? We know Roofe, Jack and Helander are despite injury issues. But its frustrating to not have them fit for half the season.
  13. From what i have seen he has only played CB for the USMNT
  14. Interesting snippet from the article - we may be seeing more of him in the first team: “It’s important that every one of our young players at this stage has a clear plan and for Leon he will now move into the first-team group under Giovanni van Bronckhorst on a permanent basis between now and the end of the season.”
  15. Record(I know..) reporting we have bid for Skov Olsen Rangers have reportedly to have launched a bid worth around £5m for Danish winger Andreas Skov Olsen. The Bologna wide man has been in and out of the team this season and it is widely believed they are open to offers for the 22-year-old, who has 15 Denmark caps to his name. Earlier this week it was reported that he was set to make a decision "in the coming days" with a loan exit in January highly likely. But now Tutto Bologna Web claim that Rangers have launched a bid worth €6m (£5m) to sign him permanently. More from danish site: https://www.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/medie-rangers-byder-45-mio-for-skov-olsen/
  16. Great news. Was attracting interest from the big guns down south. Official site link - https://www.rangers.co.uk/article/leon-king-signs-new-rangers-contract/61x8l6r15jXye1NvVNPIH5
  17. Seville have entered the running for Skov Olsen. Reports from Turkey Twitter (pinch of salt) Galatasaray rejected a bid from us for Romanian winger Morutan, with the turks holding out for 7 million for the lad. Looks like we are after a right winger no matter what. My preference would be Skov Olsen. Real threat turning in on his left shooting from distance.
  18. Will be interested to see how he gets on. Fee being reported as 6 Million Euro. If we sign a player for 6 million he had better be good! Probably have to offload Lundstram before we can spend big on a midfielder. Don't see it as a priority position right now as things stand.
  19. Done Deal. Well done young man. https://rng.rs/3pVaHHv
  20. I agree and its still a good market for us, there are good players available and moving to Germany/Belgium for 1-3 million at the moment. But specifically for the lad Sands if we are to pay a loan fee and a future fee that gets in the 6 million ball park. This boy has got to be one of our best players. Edit - loan to buy is a great idea for us, worked well with Kent, Hagi and Davis (1st time round). So like that approach.
  21. Rangers linked with James Sands not going away. USA International, 21 y/o MLS NYC. Plays DM/DC. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10366135/Rangers-poised-sign-midfielder-James-Sands-New-York-City-selling-Nathan-Patterson.html Looking at an 18(?) month loan deal. Sure there will be a future fee. But it has been rumoured at 6 million which for us is quite an outlay.
  22. Lille offered 16 million IIRC (verified by their sporting director during an interview with talksport). Porto is not a step up for him and they dont want to pay us what we want so id forget about them. If he keeps his current form up and signs a new deal he could be worth much more. Alfredo plays a hell of a lot of games, rarely injured. Form dips up and down but whos form doesnt. He will be very difficult to replace but id rather we were doing it in the summer with the CL money pot to look forward to. @Rousseau - Itten deserves another chance I agree. I believe he did not settle in Scotland and would prefer to move away for off field reasons.
  23. In the summer I would. Not now. Crucial period coming up and that CL spot is very big for us financially. Sakala is still hit and miss, Roofe is struggling with his fitness (that idea of deciding to take up international football at 28 was a great one). Goldson, Kamara, Aribo and Morelos are the 4 we need to keep to win the league this year. Sell in the summer for 3 of them if we must. Obviously Connor will walk in the summer regardless.
  24. Good move all round. Patterson isnt going to play ahead of Tav. We sell the boy while his stock is high and he gets a chance at first team football, a wage rise and a healthy sign on fee. If we can sell an academy player like that every 5 years its good for us IMO. Now to get Leon King tied down on long term deal and path to the 1st team.
