  1. St Johnstone struggling big time but this is still potentially a massive banana skin for us.
  2. Defo, as others have said judge it when the spell with us is over. But right now it looks like a bit of a pointless signing.
  3. I'd suggest if we fail to win the league this season the blame will lie more with the players who played, rather than those who didnt. Although it is frustrating to have a talent like Ramsey and not see him play.
  4. He went out on a limb to get the club to bring in James Sands during the window. An 18 month loan to buy for a reported 6 million. The manager played him as a DM twice where he looked like a centre back playing DM and played CB once against Annan. Yesterday Lundstram played CB ahead of him. If that's anything to go by there are serious questions to answer.
  5. No real idea where to start here. Feel slightly cheated by this squad. Can mix it against a star studded multi million pound Dortmund side but sh*t the bed against Aberdeen, Ross County, Dundee United and Motherwell today. Not to mention capitulating at the home of our main rivals had handing them initiative in the league race. Tav was asked after the game (by David Edgar i believe) is there an attitude/application issue and he said no because we can do it against Dortmund. Thats exactly the problem and the fact he cant see it speaks volumes. This is a bad result in isolation but raises more questions about our recruitment in the window. The polish lad I can overlook. But the fact we have hardly seen Sands, Diallo and Ramsey since they signed does not reflect well on the recruitment team. Electing to play Lundstram at CB, who has been great for us in midfield recently is quite frankly bizarre and is on the manager. Sands is available, Balogun was on the bench. heck even through Leon King in. We needed Lundstram in midfield in that second half. Not making changes after half time when it seemed some players were running on empty. Bizarre. A few questionable offside decisions again, a red card that wasn't given and the player was subbed at half time. All the usual and again we have no interest in calling it out so it will only continue. I genuinely believe there are players within this squad who have no real desire to win this league. Just do it on the big stage in Europe and try to get a move. Domestically go through the motions.
  6. He was excellent at taking the ball in situations where he had 2-3 players around him and keeping possession for us, holding the ball up allowing others to get into position which was critical.
  7. I am starting to think this team needs to play big guns to be up for it. This will be a tough tie for us. Will be interesting to see the lad play we were interested in. Ivancic was it?
  8. Doesnt look fit and hasnt done so for a year or so now. Going to the euros injured was a bad idea. Needs a full through medical imo. Just doesnt look on it. Looks to have lost a bit of zip.
  9. Maybe, but then someone else might be able to acquire that debt for very little and earn it back to the long term detriment of Chelsea. Business is business. Not sure how any sanctions against a large debt would affect FFP too. All very tricky. I suspect the UKGOV, UEFA and the FA will choose the path of least resistance and do nothing.
  10. Like Putin he has seen all this coming. Chelsea owe him 1.5 billion. If they are taken off him they are in big trouble.
  11. Yes. They should either be kicked out, or allowed to continue to participate with no home games and no prize money.
  12. I went for Kent as he was robbed of a certain goal by a blind Spanish ref.
  13. Gutted we cant draw any of the Spanish teams. Always a great away trip and can usually get home end tickets easily enough.
  14. Great performance from the team last night. A real game of two halves. First half we were not really in the game, done well to win the penalty a great piece of play by Kent who was brilliant over the 2 legs. But couldn't really get a hold of the ball and when BVB scored their second i was starting to fear the worst. Credit to the manager they changed the system at half time and it killed any attacking threat Dortmund had, there was just no space for them. Tav back to his terrific best last night, the second goal in particular started with a long ball to him, he had no right to bring it down and control it but he did and the rest is history. Those two legs are an indicator of what this team is capable of, similar to last seasons relentless form and highlights to me how some of this squad could be better focused on domestic competition. This BVB side are no mugs, packed full of 30 million players and one of the worlds top young players in Bellingham. he was superb over the two legs and I wouldn't be surprised to see him move to a top club in the summer for big, big money. But compare the performances of Malen to Morelos or Brandt to Kent and you can see the quality we have in our team. Enjoy the night and on to 3 points on Sunday.
  15. Still angry about the whole thing. Planned out by Murray, the bank and administrators. I bet they thought we'd get docked 25 points for the following season or something. They didn't bank on hate. Opportunists took it as a chance to keep us down for years and get a free run at trophies, European tv money etc.
  16. BTW - that goal from Arfield that was chopped off (wrongly imo) for offside. What a finish!😍
  17. Fredo, but need to praise Lundstram for his performance.
  18. i was against it but I'm starting to think the same. I'd be tempted to give Sands a run out at CB. I don't think he is the type of midfielder we need. He looks very much a CB playing in midfield. Also rumour is hearts wanted a sell on fee which was the deal breaker. They wanted a kings ransom for Soutter but perhaps they knew we were running the risk of seeing out the season with 2 chocolate CB's that cant seem to stay fit.
