True, this is probably a line being fed from their board to make this more palatable to the great unwashed. Its a smart thing to do. Our board however are miles behind. Its also another reason why i could believe this to be true.

Rumour was the players didn't want to wear it due to our record with other kits (purple one) but its a bit far fetched. -
Same with Aribo/Kent/Morelos.. maybe time is coming too for Tav. We have a massive rebuild job in the summer and I'm not sure we have any resources to do it.
-
What were the options? I see us bringing in 15 million (approx) for Patterson and Gerrard(&team). I see we spent 200k on a polish right back with a handful of games under his belt to backup Tav.
-
You have also got to take into account the previous management team took a few bargain bin rough diamonds and polished them up (Kamara, Aribo etc) We still go into many games with a midfield that cost at most 50k.

This guy is a grade A sevco moonhowler and should be ignored at all costs. -
Agree with this fully. As time goes by it looks more and more like we either don't have the finances for transfers or we don't have the ability to identify targets within our budget. Looks like we have also gambled that bids would come in for Kent, Aribo and Morelos hoping for big money when we will likely lose them for a fraction of that big money in the summer. Kent in particular I'm now thinking we will be lucky to make our money back on. Doesnt matter who manages the 1st team this area needs to be better.

We got a fair few pennies in during the January window and spent barely anything. Brought in 3 loans who have so far hardly featured. Also we have far too many key players approaching the last year of the contract and our best defender in years walking out the door for nothing at the end of the season. Meanwhile the infamous Skov Olson who went to Bruges for 6 million euro has been tearing it up there so far. Serious questions to be asked of our board, DOF and scouting team. This is going to be a very big summer.

Agree. Also chucking helander in at tannadice when he was clearly miles off it then trying Lundstram at CB a bit later seemed to be acts of desperation.

Another 3 points another forgettable performance. I could summarise but i think I'd just be repeating myself after the past few weeks. We will know by the end of the month if we can win it or not. -
Hard to tell. Had some great results (Prague, Dortmund, away run before xmas, hearts horsed at home) and some very bad ones which are obvious. I'm behind him fully but he makes some odd decisions.

Massive 3 points here for us in Aberdeens final game of the season. We need to want it more than them. Do that and we will win. I'd go ------------McGregor----------- Tav--Goldson--Balogun--Bassey ---------Jack--Lundstram------ Aribo-------Ramsey--------Kent -------------Morelos------------ -
This is who we are enjoying a commercial partnership with for big anges homecoming. Astounding that they use a mans death to promote a betting partner and sponsor. Sick. Not surprising at all mind.
-
I'm sure we will find out in the fullness of time. If Celtic are getting more it will inevitably be leaked by them in order to get one up on us.
-
Well i think from an economic perspective, it can be argued that taking part in this for a little cash boost is fairly short term in that 1) our direct rivals are also involved and will get the same (or greater?) cash boost 2) our direct rivals are embarking on partnerships with Australian broadcasters (https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19967743.celtic-seal-partnership-major-australian-entertainment-company/) and as such look to be one step ahead of us.. again 3) this is already being marketed down under as 'anges homecoming' and not Rangers V Celtic
-
Again I'd expect some within the club (commercial and media types) to have him briefed a bit better. I don't agree with or can excuse his comments but allowing him to say it and almost chucking his toys out the pram with a response like that was an insult to the support.
-
Exactly this. Bisgrove is as much a Rangers man as any other random person. He is a commercial/marketing professional and probably a good one. This proposal would have needed sign off at senior board levels, that's where the issue lies for me.
-
I quite like King and his bravado, but I'm also pretty sure if he wanted to still be chairman at Ibrox and in control he would be. That says more to me than any soundbites. Hes not here so he is about as relevant as the other yesterday men.
-
Even if we get the same amount of money from it as Celtic, it doesn't help us gain an advantage as they get the same as us.. its pointless.
-
yeah its just a rumour, but that one would be more believable than yours.
-
Does it make business sense to participate in a tournament with your biggest rivals if they are going to make more money from it than us as is rumoured?
-
Wouldnt surprise me if true in the slightest. Which makes the decision all the more bizarre. Whats the point in us getting an extra 5 million dingo dollars if they are getting 10? Also, have the club had any assurances that the club staff and support will be free to leave the country in the event of any further COVID restrictions? Didn't Australia completely lock down and stop anyone from travelling in or out? This is quite important.

Agree RE: Goldson a good signing for the money an owes us nothing. But he will be difficult to replace IMO. The McLaughlin thing has me worried. If he is good enough get him in the team now. Why wait until McGregor retires. An i am not convinced he is good enough to be our #1 FWIW. We also face losing Aribo, Kent and Morelos and wont get top dollar due to contracts running down. We brought in 12 million for Patterson and 4 million for Gerrard and spent next to nothing in January. Not sure we are in a position to being in 2/3 real quality players. Considering we will lose at least 4 i suggest we need more.
