out of contract after this season and intends to go back to Germany i believe but Katic will be back from loan

Happy to pay for a VPN and subscribe to RTV. However the broadcasters will catch on and stamp down on this somehow. They have cut back on the illegal streaming.

The boy that ripped them apart for bodo/glimt is available for about half a million supposedly. Value is out there.
-
I think this is fair. Its also crossed my mind that the teams strength is playing European football and not dominating Scotland. How many years were we dominant here but useless in Europe? Look at Celtic recently in Europe V domestically.
-
Agree again. But then who do we bring in? Who is going to take it if we bin Gio. With no money to spend we are not an attractive proposition for someone. We will also have to pay big money to pay off Gio and his backroom team.
-
I keep going between the two extremes of agreeing fully with you to then thinking all the help he got was a few loans in January, and if the squad have chucked it mentally then there is not much he can do.
-
He's injured just now sadly. I'd have him in the team see what he is made of.
-
Steven Conroy admitted lying about disclosing his team as Dumbarton so he could ref big games despite being a clear celtic fan and no one has batted an eyelid. Kenny Clark had/has a season ticket at the scumhut.
-
I've only seen Weston once and his off the ball movement and leading of the line was superb. The Celtic B team defence never stopped chasing him. I'd have him involved for that alone.

I agree with this. As tough as it is to stomach. Other clubs have been doing stuff like this for years (I'm sure Arsenal for example have been doing this for 10+ years and their season/matchday tickets are far more expensive than ours). We simply cant keep complaining every time ticket prices or merchandise costs go up.
-
Not allow key assets to get into the last year of their contracts and depreciate in value, and not lose them for free moving forward. We simply cant afford to spend money like we did on Kent for him to walk away for free or a cut priced transfer.
-
I cant see the future, can only call it as i see it now.
-
Time will tell if we ever spend that money but i doubt it. I for one, and i know many others were concerned about the lack of options at right wing/attack BEFORE Hagi got injured. Skov Olsen was a great example of what was available, for 5 million pounds. He has went to Brugge and is tearing it up. he will make them millions in a year or so. There was also a need for an attacking midfielder. Which is why the club went out and got Ramsay and Diallo on loan. There is some truth to what you say about the market being tougher in January, but other teams manage it. Our rivals being one. The world of football is a big big place and there are many options. Our winter window is some countries end of season window.
-
One of two things is true. 1) we need any player sales cash to cover our losses 2) we dont What does the evidence point at
-
We didn't re-invest because the money is going to cover the losses. If we end up spending the Patterson cash in the summer I'll hold my hand up.
-
I agree there. Lets hope they can pull it off.
-
No one wants us to go back to the days of spending more than we have. But the reality of where we are v where our biggest rivals are financially means they can spend much more on players than us. And in turn have a much better chance of winning things than we do. This will be the case for some time if they continue to get far higher European revenue than us. This season has been a massive own goal for us in that regard. 55 was the big one but it was supposed to be a foundation for us to build on. Not a millstone around our neck.
-
We were told many times that player trading was going to be a big revenue stream for us but have failed to maximise the ROI on some of our biggest assets in years. Yes I'm aware the impact COVID has had not just on us but football world wide. But i stand by this.
-
I hope so but it depends on revenue streams which in the past have not been enough to break even and we have relied on directors to cover the shortfall.
-
That's fine if its accompanied with some transparency and expectation setting. Ross Wilsons comments at the AGM about us not having to sell players as we are comfortable financially is not quite how it played out in January.
-
Will the board give the manager the money to spend? We took in circa 15 million for Gerrard&Co and Patterson. Manager got some loans.
-
I think that's a bit optimistic John. We will lose McGregor, Goldson, Davis, Arfield out of contract in the summer. We need a top keeper to replace McGregor IMO. Kent, Morelos, Aribo, Helander all have one year remaining and should be renewed or sold. In Helanders case he cant stay fit so would prefer to move him on. Worst case scenario is we fail to move Kent, Morelos and Aribo and lose them for nothing. Lowry is in his last year and needs to be renewed or promoting him to first team duties and developing him for his next club wont do us much good. Agree RE Leon King. Now at the point we either need to play him and give him games or try to get some money for his potential. Katic is an interesting one. By all accounts his performances have been improving so i wouldn't be adverse in having him back. At the same time if we get a decent bid for him it may be best for both parties to move on. Real question marks over the quality of Itten and Sakala. If we can move them on and reinvest we should. Roofe cant stay fit so we should move him on and reinvest if we can. He takes too big a wage to spend that much time in the treatment room. Kamara was a big asset for us under Gerrard but now looks a shadow of the player and how much would we get for him? I think these questions were as valid in December when we were top as they are now.
-
Agree but given the major rebuild we have ahead of us its a massive ask.
