  1. Imo the fact we make losses every year in our accounts will encourage buying clubs to ‘lowball’ us in terms of offers. They don’t have the same financial restrictions as us. We are perhaps perceived as weak financially. the fact we seem to have accepted far lower than expected for Aribo up front will perhaps only encourage more ‘lowball’ offers. Time will tell. The club do have a plan with transfer strategy it’s just hard to believe in it from the outside.
  2. Rangers review reporting Hagi out until after the world Cup. I wonder if the loan Cammy mentioned earlier in the thread is a short term #10 to replace Aribo until Hagi comes back. McAtee from City been mentioned.
  3. Very true, risk mitigation is a big part of any business and football is no different. To be less reliant on a player who has a history or injuries is a good thing. We have the luxury of being able to sign players like Colak and Lawrence to support our squad.
  4. Exactly my reaction when Roofe and Jack go halfway round the the world to play international friendlies tbh
  5. Doesn’t matter if they choose to be injured or not. If they can’t play they won’t win us many matches.
  6. I see Roofe is injured again. As much as it’s not a surprise when you look at Colak and Lawrence they are available for most games. So that’s a big positive with both players.
  7. Same here. We also took in plenty from Gerrard and Patterson. Just frustrated at the lack of funds not blaming the board or anyone in particular.
  8. A backup striker from a Greek diddy team and a free from a relegated championship side. Not the transfers I’d have hoped for but got to give these lads a chance to see what they can do. Still think the manager deserves more financial backing from the board but if it’s not there it’s not there.
  9. Given the past 30 years of our club and various owners being less than transparent I’m not yet at the fully trusting stage.
  10. Hopefully they come out and detail what it all is. If they don’t then the sensible conclusion is they don’t want to let public know they have sold on the low side.
  11. For me he can be a great ball playing centre back. When he plays in midfield he just looks like a centre back playing in midfield.
  12. If we only get 6 million for Aribo then that’s criminal Southampton just paid double that for a Man City youth
  13. Absolutely boils my piss to see a like Fulham and Forest splashing the cash like it’s going out of fashion. TV deals have priced us out of the transfer market and I hate it. anyway, great to see we can bring some cash in for Aribo if we are not getting him to extend. Ten million will do as others have said it’s better than a free and sets a benchmark for Morelos and Kent if they don’t want to extend. hopefully we get to reinvest the full 10 million and it doesn’t go to covering operating costs like the Patterson/Gerrard money.
  14. I suspect we will only find out the truth in next year’s financials when they are released.
  15. I think he will definitely be an upgrade, and on the loan thing it’s probably sensible. Really we have a big squad so unless we sell other than a RW or a box to box midfielder to partner lundstram we are well stocked. Would rather play Lowry than a loanee like McAtee if he is a number 10 type. I hope we can get Colak in quickly question marks over buffalos fitness and Roofe just can’t be relied on. Qualifiers in a few weeks.
  16. Yup, looking like loans unless we can sell. Colak will replace Itten if we can get him.
  17. While that’s true. Aaron Ramsey and a 36 million pounds winger from Manchester United must come in with the expectation of doing well from the management side of things. Itten was a signing with gambling with as there was potential there. Shame it didn’t work out.
  18. For the most part yes, but without Ramsey, Diallo and Itten who have yet to be replaced.
  19. Yes he is in charge of the scouts. But he doesn't scout. My original point was he doesn't go out at watch players. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Yes the DoF should be responsible for players coming in but that doesn't mean he has a big say in the specific individuals we turnover. Wilsons biggest job this summer in recruitment is to find a replacement for Andy Scoulding imo.
  20. He doesn't go out and watch players and say aye he'll do. He's a negotiator. But yes he is overall responsible for recruitment, and moving players on.
  21. Need to sell them first. This is how Wilson will earn his corn. Not by scouting players as some people think is his role.
  22. Yes but its less than ideal. We have very important CL qualifiers to prepare for and we don't know if the likes of Morelos, Kent and Aribo will be available due to the transfer situation. We can just decide to keep them and write off any potential transfer income but then may struggle to finance replacements for all 3 next season. What we really need to avoid is what Celtc did with Eduoard and Ajaer last season and selling them late into the window. The next month is key.
