I think this has been lost on much of the support. Many still expect us to be competitive just because we are Rangers. They forgot about the work that needs to be done on and off the park to facilitate that. Definitely the board are guilty of this.

I suppose it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. They will canter to the title with or without referees making decisions like that. Let’s see if it continues when there is a real title race on.

One off games we should be beating everyone bar Celtic every time. Should we be beating Nice 4-0, or drawing with Spurs who have players worth more than our entire club? Football doesn’t work like that.

Don’t think anyone is accepting anything, we have been mismanaged for years to the point we need to make a dramatic course correction. Expecting anything from this season other than just getting by was always going to be unrealistic.

Taking the emotion out of it, I’d guess that as long as we finish 2nd the distance doesn’t matter to the board. I genuinely don’t think they care about any of that. All that matters is to them is the payroll, something they should have been cognisant of long before the summer. We have taken a few scalps in Europe, look good to qualify and narrowly lost a domestic cup final. I think it’s quite some distance from a disastrous season. It could have been much, much worse.
