If this is accurate, thank goodness we made the Europe league final, the CL group stages and sold Bassey, Patterson and Aribo for big money. And the money for Gerrard and co. Where would we be without that?

And that's the real ball buster about this. Its our European efforts that keep the co-efficient high enough to get a Scottish club auto CL qualification. But we cant be good enough domestically to take advantage.

Matondo is going to take some time to settle in and be polished up. Anyone expecting performances from him Wed/Sat every week is in for a shock. I have a feeling he might be a longer term option on the left rather than the right. I also expect Ridvan will prove to be an excellent signing. Now that our business is complete I feel that Goldson renewing was absolutely massive for us. Despite his early season form not being up to his usual standards.

I think many are under estimating how many of our squad need game time managed. When you have a fixture list like we do with an injury list like we do over the next 3 months the manager will find his options getting limited very quickly. Yes it’s hard seeing our rivals out spend us year after year. Reality bites and when it comes to spending power on players we lag behind them. That’s never a good feeling and never should it be meakly accepted. Hopefully the board have a plan to even things out. The two biggest questions before this window were extended contracts for Morelos and Kent. We can’t sell them now and they haven’t extended.

Maybe the club have faith Matondo will come good. Hagi won’t be back until after the World Cup. A 6 month loan would have gave us options at low risk.

Yep, I can see that. That is where you'd expect the club to facilitate player turnover and help the manager build the squad he likes that suits him. But if it cant be done it cant be done.

No concerns about his ability. If I’m being harsh I want to see how his fitness fares in this hectic schedule we have coming up. I fear he may be another one of these player where we need to manage his game time and not a Tav/Goldson who just plays every minute of every game.
