  1. Yeah for me he plays ahead of Arfield or Tillman. Push Lundstram forward if you want to be more attacking
  2. Yes, after not kicking a ball for weeks he is now expected to be our saviour. Bold strategy.
  3. This is my problem with this scenario. Any new manager coming here has to out perform a team who can heavily outspend us transfer wise. It’s a poisoned chalice. Our support demand success no matter what.
  4. Spot on. Too expensive to run per game.
  5. I don’t think it’s a practical solution. We have so many games thick and fast. They would never get up to speed in time. We just need to manage it until January unfortunately.
  6. That sounds like his opinion rather than him alluding to it IMO.
  7. Do we trust the powers that be make the right call? I’m not so sure.
  8. VAR without Hawkeye for the goal line stuff apparently. Sounds legit.
  9. Great news if accurate. Although in my experience even minor tears can be tricky to heal
  10. Good listen tonight but open the biscuit tin and buy Craig a mic if he is going to be presenting regularly @Frankie. My pet hate is people joining calls with laptop audio
  11. Very true, written into European footballing folklore. I'll let Gio off the hook for the Ajax result
  12. Yes i agree, but we beat Porto 2-0 in 2019. They reached the CL later stages with pretty much the same squad and manager.
  13. I'm not convinced. I think Brugge/Porto is our level, or should be in time.
  14. I think overall our transfer business this summer was good. I look at each signing in isolation, and i like them all. The problem seems to be getting these guys in the team either through fitness or form (bar Colak). My biggest issue with our business this summer is still we didn't bring in enough. We have needed for some time some CM/#8 presence in midfield. I'm not so concerned by the RW conundrum. Between Matondo, Sakala, Lowry and Wright we have enough bodies to throw at it for now. How we have went on for years with guys like Jack, Davies, Arfield who cant play every week, and Kamaras complete loss of form has left Lundstram and our defence extremely exposed. Our injury list as another poster has said is too much to be coincidence. Do we need a conditioning coach (similar to Millsom). Are we not warming up/down correctly. Are we pushing players with knocks too hard? Lots of questions around this.
  15. One thing I will give credit for in terms of transfer strategy is the loan to buy deals. Initially with Hagi but then Sands and Tillman. Its a good approach that reduces the risk around transfers. The profile of these signings is good too.
  16. As usual its as clear as mud. We probably paid him a meaty sign on fee and a decent wage to get him here.
  17. If the pessimist thinks I'm being pessimistic then surely that's a double negative that cancels itself out? I'm taking the win on that one
  18. Always enjoying listening to these on a Friday/Sunday night. Keep up the good work.
  19. Bennet might have said that, but its been talked about for quite some time. If he was serious about that he was being disingenuous. We put up a good package for Aribo as we wanted to sell him on in the future, make no mistake. That was far longer than 6 months ago. If he meant we made our first major sale 6 months ago (Patterson) then fair enough.
  20. Absolutely, I think if we drop a few more points over the coming weeks (I'm sure we wont btw but IF) then its time to transition the likes of King, McCann, McCrorie and Lowry into the team. That's how we will make our money. I'm not sold on Sands as much as i like him, not sure £4 million is his value to us. Same with Tillman. Good player but not sure he is worth £4~5 million to us. Also I'm still sceptical of his ability to play 90 minutes never mind 2x90 mins a week.
  21. Mr Magoo could see it was a bad idea.
  22. That's like a lottery though. If you only buy one ticket the chances of you winning are slim. As you state our average age is sky high. From our team that started Tuesday night, where are the assets(Bassey, Aribo type)?
