  1. That’s the strongest team possible right now. Perhaps playing Matondo for Kent would be a better idea as the game might be more open than the usual park the bus. Let’s go.
  2. Signing a few 1st team players (Hetate, Maeda, O’Reilly) in the January window last year helped them improve. No reason why a few of the right players can’t help us. We got Colak for 1.8 million. There is no reason why we can’t get a couple of midfielders and a keeper in for similar fees who can go straight into our first team and have an impact like him.
  3. We have played a heck of a lot of games over the past few years with a squad full of players who need game time managed. This injury situation was inevitable. Both for the guys who are injury prone and the guys who play every game. Law of averages catch up with Goldson/Tav etc
  4. Dont know if we are still using this. https://theathletic.com/2216451/2020/11/24/rangers-artificial-intelligence-getafe-injuries/
  5. Brace yourself for this shocking news.. Are you sitting down? Gio has announced.. Roofe is injured.. Shocking I know.
  6. I didn't think he would go anytime soon anyway but if that's true he is here for the next couple of seasons unless he gets a better offer.
  7. He would be a cheap punt in relative terms. And if he decided to go elsewhere in Scotland our involvement only drives up the cost. Anyone under 25 and in the Scotland squad available for free from the SPFL should be on our radar.
  8. Both Sands and Tillman represent for me an issue in terms of the markets we are looking at in our recruitment. Players in MLS are being valued higher than ever. Evander (who we were linked with in the summer, plays for Midtjylland in Denmark) is being linked to a move to Portland Timbers for around £9 million. The teams in the MLS can pay and command higher transfer fees than we can afford. They are buying up top talent from South America and Mexico. The future fee for sands being a reported £4 million is affordable in this case but generally the elite US talent is sold off at a younger age for much higher fees. An MLS team bought a highly rated Argie called Thiago Almeda for £15 million, 20 years old. Usually these guys go to Spain or Italy but the MLS has the means now to buy them, pay them well and give them a platform. Tillmans reported fee from Bayern is around £5 Million. Similarities when buying Kent for £7 million from Liverpool. These elite clubs like Chelsea, Man City can command big fees for thier youth products and also rights to any future fee. They are also generally paid quite well which gives us a challenge in fitting them into our wage structure. By all means we should be looking at all these players and bring them in if possible. But given our financial constraints they maybe don't represent the best value we can get. Bassey who was available out of contract for a small development fee is a good example of the profile we should be targeting.
  9. Whats the agreed price? Something like £4 million. Hetate and O'Reilly cost them about £3 million combined.
  10. I'd be quite happy never to see him or Kent play for us again. I wouldn't miss them tbh. Colak will score goals and win us games, Roofe will chip in when hes not injured and Sakala is always about. When Lawrence comes back if he plays LW/LM we will quickly forget Kent ever existed.
  11. I've plumped for Yilmaz as his passing forward and not backing off wingers constantly was refreshing. Leon King did ok, got caught under the ball for the 2nd and couldn't cover Davies for the first. But for a 18 year old up against a very decent side deserves a mention. James Sands is never a midfielder in a million years.
