GPL Predictions Bluebear54's GPL 2022/23: Rangers vs Kilmarnock

Great performance so far. Some real good link up and direct play at times. Great to watch. Cloak looks sharp. Sakala, Cantwell and Raskin all impressive. But yet another week of getting kicked off the park and no cards. Killie players going down at the slightest or no touch getting free kicks. Do we have a lighting issue at ibrox? Why can’t the officials see it? Thankfully VAR picked up on the penalty that was pretty obvious during open play. How the Govan linesman missed that.. well maybe he never.

yeah, looks like the SPFL soy cucks sold the rights for the next 900 years and now SKY cant be arsed showing our games. Funny eh. Rangers TV. Sponsored by NordVpn

Mar 2023: Lawrence and Roofe out for the season

I still like them better than gio grunting his way through 5 mins of nothing. I still like the honesty but I see your point about the support in general. -

Well then he is stupid because everyone knew the state of play when he came in, him more than most. I think he can turn it round. -

Dont think anyone lied. I think if anything he came back expecting to pick up where he left off after 55 (which he keeps referring to). needing minimal funds to progress. Maybe now he has realised what many of us have known for a while - there is a rot in this squad and it needs cut out. -

I dont agree, we need to move on the 15 million/150k p/w wages or so of talent we cant get fit and the usual suspects that cant be counted on to be match ready like Jack, Davis, Arfield etc (as harsh as that sounds) Move on guys like Lundstram/Kamara/Tav/Sakala/Hagi(who i love btw) if we get decent bids. Let Morelos and Kent move on and free up the wages. Both players are approaching thier peak years as players but seem to be no better than they were when they first arrived. If we do better with what we have we would be in a much better place. If anyone can refresh the squad with young, hungry players. Its Beale. We have been talking about refresh/revamp/rebuild for a number of summers now. Its time to actually grow a pair of balls and do it. -

Michael Beale said when he first arrived 'This squads not as broken as people think'. Wonder if he still thinks that. -

if that's the case after selling Bassey for 20 odd million, Aribo for 6, Itten for 2 and making the group stage of the CL - we are in big trouble. -

James Sands returns to NYCFC

I still think it was a worth while signing and I see value in the loan to buy route. A full USA international at 21/22 is always worth a punt. Many critical of the clubs transfer approach (including me) but i think loan to buy is a very good option for us. -

Agree, Wilson specifically had never been brought to task over those comments. It grated me particularly after the Jan we sold Patterson and got money for Gerrard and co and then 3 loans were brought in. -
Seems sensible, doesn't really fit in here as a defender or a midfielder. I'm sure will be a good player elsewhere. https://www.rangers.co.uk/article/james-sands-departs-rangers/1PmGXCNTEfFWr0AgnDyAmf RANGERS Football Club can today confirm James Sands has returned to parent club New York City FC. The United States international joined Rangers on-loan in January 2022 and went on to make 41 appearances for the club in both domestic and European competition. Sands featured for the Light Blues in the 2021/22 Europa League final and played his part in last season’s Scottish Cup run, as Rangers lifted the trophy for the first time in 13 years. He has also made a contribution to this year’s run in the Scottish Cup, with the winning goal against Partick Thistle in the last round of the competition. Rangers Manager, Michael Beale, commented: “I would like to thank James for his time at Rangers. He was a well-liked player in our squad and I enjoyed working with him on a daily basis. I believe he will go on to have an excellent career. “The opportunity to return to NYCFC for the start of the MLS season, where he will be a key player in their squad, was something that we felt was correct for all parties. Everyone at Rangers wishes him well moving forwards.”

I think covid and the subsequent financial losses due to it led to this. Gerrards talk at the time was that of someone who expected financial backing. -

This pretty much mirrors my own thoughts on the top level club vision. I wouldn’t say we are waiting on Celtic failing, probably looking at them and thinking they won’t get any better(rightly or wrongly). I do see much more positives from Beales early tenure than I did from Gio’s. But again we are relying on a manager who could leave at any time to lay out a vision for the club. -

So would I but they didn’t have 5 years in the lower divisions and parasites bleeding them dry for years. Our board and football operations have made mistakes sure but we have also done some things well. We might have only won one league title in a long time but it was the one they coveted most. -

They have a little more money than us. Not sure their player trading model is that good. they haven’t won a European knockout tie (post Christmas) for what? 20 years. They have lightning in a bottle with the Aussie and his wee Japanese pals. Not sure their current squad is worth that much nor is transferable to a different manager. Things change quickly in football. We need to do better with what we have sure but let’s not get too negative. They are riding on the 2012 wave as much as we are still held back by it. Let’s give the manager backing in the summer and let Ross Wilson earn his corn by moving on the duds and the crocks. Catching them this year was always a big ask. -
