IMO the bosman signings are a bit of a misnomer in terms of value. The club wont have to pay a fee but will likely over pay on agent fees, sign on fees and wages. Perhaps better value to be found in the ~£2 million bracket signings as they can likely command less in terms of wages and fees. Aribo was a good example of a free that turned out well, but I'm sure we spent around 2 million in fees to bring him in (development fee to Charlton, sign on fees for agent and player). Sakala, Lundstram and Lawrence will all be on a healthy wage as a result.

That's the thing - when people talk about Ajax in the player trading model, and they falter in the league its because they are blooding a team of young/new players who are getting up to speed and improving performances year on year. That’s a mega cop out. People follow this club no matter what. Charging the highest possible price for tickets then claiming no one is compelled to buy a ticket to our first CL campaign in nearly 20 years since everything we have been through and our extraordinary run in the EL last season. Hope someone at the AGM asks about the turnaround of recruitment staff and scouting in the summer. Been radio silence pretty much from the club about departures and arrivals in this area. Did the likes of scoulding and Stevenson leave of their own accord or were they moved on due to poor performance? Who has replaced them and what’s the overall structure?

We can’t compete, but BVB, RBL and Frankfurt who we could compete with have all given a good account of themselves. We have cleared regressed but why and who is at fault? Many questions. There is ‘we can’t compete at this level’ and there is getting horsed every game you play. The latter is unacceptable.

Will anyone at the club put their hand up and be held accountable? Will anyone actually recognise that it’s not just affluent supporters who ‘put their money in’ but in fact, many supporters without a pot to pee in during these hard Financial Times are being bleed dry by decision makers at the club. They know we will pay to follow on. Not sure how anyone can defend the club with this one. Very crass.
