Makes you wonder why this wasn't done a while back. Is this Felix Magath and the cheese wheel all over again?
-
I suppose in isolation you can look at it and think, he's a quality players and it was worth the risk that he could get fit and have a massive impact. And its a fair point. Just like many are doing with Jack after the recent performance. But when you apply that logic to half a squad its not an ideal strategy.
-
I think that's a fair point, but he oddly seems to have this areal threat about him. We haven't seen much of it this season but he scored a few with his head last season. That always helps against the park the bus.
-
Who could have seen this coming. How many games has he played in this season, could you count them on one hand?
-
Agree with this, but I'm firmly in the thinking of if i dont have a car and really want a Ferrari, a Skoda will need to do for now.
-
They way i read it was that QIA who own PSG also own the Qatar Islamic bank who will purchase Man U.
-
Big loss to the team, he looked every inch a player with a killer instinct. If he plays a full season for us he will score 15+ goals easy.

Glasgow Cup v Celtic (Yilmaz and Souttar both start)

I like the cut of your jib. Good thinking! -
The whole PSG thing is a bit pointless. They should win the league at a canter every year but wont ever win the CL bar some miracle year. I expect the Qatar interest in Man U could see PSG turn into a Man U feeder club. Modern football sucks ass.

He's still taller than about half the Celtic starting XI. -

I think its a balance between unfashionable (lol) players like Sakala who just produce output and more cultured players who are great to watch but struggle to have that cutting edge. I think having different options is great and will benefit the squad. Throw the likes of Tillman, Hagi and Matondo (I still think he can come good..) and we have some good options to support Colak/Morelos/an other #9. FWIW Raskin and Cantwell have come in to the midfield as completely different players to what we already had(and i dont mean injured) and have added that variety to the midfield. I think the manager will want to pick different types of players for different games. So options are important.

Congrats to all. I have listened regularly for the past 2 years having caught the odd podcast before then. Particularly enjoy listening to Colin, John(hi John), David Fraser and Chris Jack but really all contributors are good. I only really listen to this and the odd H&H podcast. There are a few going about at the moment but feel this is one of the best. Keep up the good work.

Yeah a bit poor from the Athletic. As I understand it Celtic banned them after they were critical of Dick Dastardly so they haven't been covering them for some time. They have decided that it unfair to continue covering Rangers. The shrinking interest in Scottish football continues. Lots of talk of Espanyolification lately but I'd suggest Scottish football is the one being 'Espanyoled' by itself with terrible TV deals and a poor product. As an aside they are covering Wrexham now.

Interesting stat. Not sure anyone in modern day football has that kind of longevity at the top level game. Even the likes of Messi and Busquets who would possible have had a similar unbroken connection with Xavi who is now the manager there and could be for a good few years. But still pales in comparison to the Struth/Caldow example you have posted. In terms of our current squad Alan McGregor must be around 20 odd years of being involved with the 1st team. Obviously there was the few years away in-between but had that rubbish not have happened I doubt he would have left.

Scott Parker at Brugges eh, some laugh. A few months back we were looking at them as a well run club
