  1. IIRC not registering Home Grown or Nation Trained slots costs you a full slot as a penalty. So we could have registered King or McCausland and got an additional 2 slots? Here is the Celtic Squad as a comparison - doubt you will see Welsh or Montgomery but they have included them to get the extra spaces. They have filled the allocation of 25. Goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel Viljami Sinisalo Scott Bain (Nation trained) 1 Defenders Alistair Johnston Greg Taylor (Nation trained) 2 Liam Scales Auston Trusty Alex Valle Maik Nawrocki Cameron Carter-Vickers Reo Hatate Anthony Ralston (Home Grown) 1 Stephen Welsh (Home Grown) 2 Midfielders Luis Palma Kyogo Furuhashi Nicolas Kühn Hyunjun Luke McCowan (Nation trained) 2 Arne Engels Paulo Bernardo Callum McGregor (Home Grown) 3 James Forrest (Home Grown) 4 Forwards Adam Idah Adam Montgomery (Home Grown) 5 Daizen Maeda
  2. They might count as exempt as homegrown U-21 - Why wouldn't you just register them so you can get the extra space for a Matondo or Danilo?
  3. Not sure what it means in terms of Injury for Matondo or Danilo. I'm sure there are player registration problems. Squad limit 25. 4 nation trained (3 years in Scotland between 16-21) / 4 'home grown' club trained (3 years at club between 16-21) - any missing from this means a squad space must be omitted. So i read that as a maximum of 21 players can be registered. Not sure why we couldn't register Leon King and get an extra space? Goalkeepers Jack Butland Liam Kelly (Home Grown) 1 Lewis Budinauckas (Home Grown) 2 Defenders James Tavernier Rıdvan Yılmaz Robin Pröpper John Souttar (Nation trained) 1 Dujon Sterling Jefté Neraysho Kasanwirjo Leon Balogun Midfielders Óscar Cortés Connor Barron (Nation trained) 2 Mohamed Diomande Nedim Bajrami Kieran Dowell Nicolas Raskin Forwards Cyriel Dessers Thomas Lawrence Václav Černý Hamza Igmane
  4. Rangers | Squad | UEFA Europa League 2024/25 | UEFA.com Squad in link above. Illustrates the value of home grown players.
  5. We do, and I think that's what we were looking for with the chap Joan Jordan from Seville. But its only worth doing if its someone that's an affordable short term solution. This seasons already pretty much written off so I cant see us pursuing one at a high cost.
  6. We have 3 1/2 months until the transfer window opens again. We should be trying to arrange deals for young up and coming prospects now and have them ready to go in Jan.
  7. My criticism of him is nothing to do with chance conversion. Its everything else that he doesn't offer that is a problem.
  8. Not having the pressing thing mate sorry Not sure this ‘least of our problems’ thing is valid. A problem is a problem.
  9. Roofe was a bit aye. Goals has nothing to do with my point not sure where your going with this tbh.
  10. You'd sell another 5k season tickets easy. Don't care if the seats are empty on matchday or not. Cash in the bank. IIRC there was a comment at an AGM that there is 6k+ on a wait list.
  11. If you have a #9 that can hold up the ball, occupy defenders, make penetrating runs, win aerial duels etc You will get goals from other areas of the team.
  12. Its got nothing to do with goals in big games, its him complete lack of presence. He might as well have went for a nap in the centre circle on Saturday. He offers nothing in these types of games. He cannot. He is essentially a Kris Boyd when we need a Kenny Miller or a Jelavic. I dont expect Danilo to offer anything over Dessers. He is essentially a more expensive replica.
  13. When he was at his peak we made our peace with the fact his attacking output far outweigh his defensive frailties. Now he offers little attacking threat its time to go with Sterling / Big Kas / Leon King at right back in some games and see how we go. I think he has decided to stay to get his testimonial but I really worry that he will tarnish his legacy so badly that it will be a non-event. Dessers and Danilo will score goals against the diddy teams but neither offer anything when we are punching up. We need a big bastard up front, go get a Wout Weghorst or Luuk de Jong type who can be a focal point of play.
  14. Everyone is harping back to the good old days under Gerrard when we didn't lose to them as much. Gerrard also struggled to beat the dross. I think Clements shown the ability to create high quality chances against the dross and dominate them. That's why I have some confidence left in him moving forward.
  15. What i meant was my mind was made up after that Kilmarnock game that he wasn't the man to take us forward. We had a load of the ball but created no chances. That trend continued from that day forward. The loss to Celtic at Ibrox under Beale was a great example. What gives me at least a glimmer of hope under Clement is chance creation - we are still creating decent chances. As long as we are doing that we stand a fighting chance.
  16. It was nice of him to get Carter Vickers his pipe and slippers. Gave him a nice easy afternoon.
  17. He created a good chance for the McGregor goal to be fair.
