From what I gather the lack of respect for him seems to be because his wife and son work/worked for the club in some capacity and that we have been crap this year. Not entirely sure of the value he did/didn't add in his role so I cant really say I have an opinion on this one.

Not sure, talk at the start of the season when he had a run of 10 or so games was he was being watched by the top 6. IIRC he joined Everton at a young enough age to fulfil 2 years and become a trained in nation EPL registered player which adds to his value again.

I sense the frustration with Morelos is not so much at his lack of effort or application, but that his conditioning seems poor and his current ability is way below what he has delivered in the past. Could of course be his natural curve of ability. I think it is and I think we have seen the best of him as a player peak 2 seasons ago.

Even guys who were not good enough like Mo Ross, Bob Malcolm, Chris Burke etc have winners medals. Not everyone that comes though needs to be a Barry Ferguson or a McGregor. Some may be bit part players for a few seasons and that’s ok.

I agree but I think you and many other supporters are over thinking this. Basically anyone that played next to Davie Weir for us played on the left and most of them were right sided and managed it fine. Some players can take to it easily.

I’m not sure about this left sided cb obsession many of our supporters have. Didn’t hinder Cuellar or Bougherra in the slightest. Amoruso did ok but he was good with either foot to be fair. Why I think it was a lazy signing - guy was carrying injuries and not ready for pre season. Not sure anyone had a char to him before signing to check he had the mentality to play for us like Beale did with Cantwell and Raskin. And finally his profile doesn’t fit a player trading model like ours in any way. We were paying peak value for him and peak wages to get him from one of the worlds top clubs.IIRC Goldson had already committed before we signed Davies so not sure we couldn’t have looked for a younger player to potentially partner him.

Cantwell for me but Lundstram stepped up and played well so worth a mention.

Was a really lazy signing imo. we had Goldson, just signed Soutter, James Sands was someone the management had confidence at the time and our best young player is a centre back. If you are signing a CB last summer you go for a Bassey profile type player.

They have also brought through the best player of all time arguably and a whole host of generational talents often. Not sure you can compare that with a Gregor, Hutton and Charlie Adam.
