Differing opinions to what our manager has said recently with regards too transfer spend. Is the board briefing against him?
-
Agree. It was put in place to stop the big clubs just going out and buying a player if they had injuries or so on. Instead it’s led to them stockpiling players. It was a worthwhile attempt but as always the authorities are a few steps behind. Players were always cup tied before it so clubs couldn’t add to European squads if needed. It worked fine as it was.

Billy Reid is holding him hostage until John Bennett calls and offers a job and a bag of cans..

I agree overall with your entire post there, I think he demonstrated how to have a vision, and how to implement it in a short space of time. What was key to him turning it around was the January transfer window and beating us in the league there after. No point moaning about the COVID stuff and moving games as its all history but it was a factor. But to the point I've quoted I'm not sure that's strictly true. They hired a chap as CEO to replace the outgoing Lawwell, he didn't last long to be replaced by their CFO. Recruited Gordon Strachan as some kind of DoF 'on loan' from Dundee and Mark Lawwell officially joined / got involved in their recruitment on the playing side. I suppose its subjective but i wouldnt see that as stability.

Was only a few weeks ago I got pelters for saying the same after Killie, what a difference a few games make 😂
-
The fact the transfer windows aren't standardised are a total joke.
-
He has made many mistakes (livi away, them away, Kille away) in a very small sample of games. It remains to be seen if this is just bad luck or a trend.

Anytime but August

None of the above. I'd rather just stick with Beale reading that.

Its either now, after the next dropped points if we drop some before Celtic do, or he sees the season out. Or Celtic could lose their next 2 games while we win and go top and we can all pretend he's a genius.

Scottish football buses: What changes are being proposed?
Sutton_blows_goats replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
How about catching and punishing actual criminals? Or maybe just stop people who have worked hard all week enjoy a day out at the football. Thats much easier. -
Gutter press is linking us with John Eustace as manager. Hes at Birmingham. Expect movement in 7-10 days(joke btw) Ex-Rangers trialist now managing in Championship is shock new name to replace Michael Beale as Ibrox manager | The Scottish Sun Its obviously celtc fans with typewriters making a joke btw

Recently with the trend of Rodgers, Gerrard and Fat Aussie, if successful then it is inevitable.

Good point.

Borna Barisic back from Rangers injury after missing Celtic defeat as Croatia boss chuffed it's 'nothing serious'. Great news for Borna. Chuffed for him.

I've been pretty clear on this for weeks. We look a slow, one dimensional, boring, predictable outfit under Michael Beale. We don't create many quality chances and we don't take many of the high quality that we do tend to create. I'm often left wondering what we are waiting for during games. Its like walking football at times. He hasn't wont a big game yet. In big games we seem to produce more individual errors than any other team I can remember. We are not being beaten by much better teams (PSV away apart) but against Celtic specifically in the league and cup games last season we threw those games away. Do I want him sacked? I don't want him sacked as much as I have lost all confidence in him and don't see any signs that he can turn it around. And the sooner we can make a change the sooner I believe we can salvage this season. But then we need to make sure the replacement is the right one. And the evidence suggests the board cant do that either. Gerrard was the exception to the rule. No manager will get a few trophyless seasons here again. I wonder if Beale expects the same level of time as Gerrard had to build something. When he came in as manager he made a lot of noise about how much he thought of the club, his connection with the support and how much he and his family enjoyed life here. It was a gamble putting that kind of information on the line as things can change very quickly here. Its a football club where winning is everything, life is on a knife edge. Its not a retirement village. Can he turn it around? Yes, of course he can. What does he need to do to turn it around? He needs to win. Quite simply. He needs to ensure the league cup is won. He needs to get this lethargic start to games we seem to have had for years now eradicated, and ensure we start games hungry with tempo. High pressing and high chance creation. He needs that team to go out and play every league and domestic cup game like its his last. I'd put Europe on the backburner to a degree as a run in Europe wont save his job if he falters domestically. Beating Betis wont win him back much of the support. Being close enough in the league to go top with a win at Parkhead in new year will. It looked like we were tentative and waiting for something on Sunday. It felt like that at Kilmarnock, Servette and at Ross County. It feels like we do that every week. That needs to go. We should have been more aggressive / physical from the off. The players could have blown themselves out and then had the international break to recover. We can also make 5 subs if players who are not fully match fit like Roofe get tired. I want him to be critical of referees if they make a bad decision. Call it as it is, if they make a bad call, tell the world. Complain about it. The next bad refereeing decision could cost him his job. Who cares about any touchline ban or fines that follow. He may be gone by the time the letter comes in the post. Don't do referees any favours by keeping your powder dry, they do none for us. Don't come out with 'I don't want to be critical of refs'. That just makes it easier for them to do us over. There were games at Tynecastle and Easter road last season where we approached games under Beale with a different level of energy. The evidence is there that we can do it. We just haven't seen enough of it. We need that every week. He needs to have belief in his signings. Back his own players. It worked last season with Cantwell and Raskin. Oddly both seem to have regressed massively this season. Get Danilo and Cifuentes in the team. Get Dessers sharp. Find a way to make Lammers effective. The club wont make a change yet rightly or wrongly. Everything is still in the managers hands. Its up to him where he goes from here.

Depends on the injury, if its medial ligament keeping the knee straight its actually beneficial to keep using it as it build up the strength elsewhere on the knee

How long out of interest?

The only way he can turn this around is to beat Celtic and win the league cup. Problem is we will lose more ground before then because he can’t set up a team to dominate and win and I can’t see us winning the league cup either. We are just so bad. I couldn’t care less about Europe.
-
Here's the thing, half decent football clubs, ones that operate at the top level tend to know the answer to this before they sack their current manager.
-
Instead of asking 'should he be sacked'. Ask - Why should he be kept on. The answers 'its too early' or 'he beat Celtic in that last dead rubber' don't answer the question.
-
yeah, complaining about refs never got Celtic anywhere
-
Wow. An alumni of Pacific Quay CFC going against the narrative?
-
ten Haag wont see out the season. Some dreadful signings and still playing with Martial / Rashford expecting to challenge for the title. Madness.
