STV & other media org's are definitely going to browse forums like this to gauge the moods & opinions of football fans, so I don't see any real issue with them posting links to relevant articles &/or interviews as well. It's not as if it's spam after all. Having said all that, I'd like to point out that a direct link to the given article or interview would be the way to do it, rather than linking us to a general STV sports homepage which is either laziness, stupidity or crafty marketing. cheers

My local JJB shop has been sporting an all-Celtic window display this week. The other day was the first time I've walked passed it in months so I'm not sure how long it's been like that, but I couldn't believe my eyes. You'd think having a deal with them would at least secure a joint old firm window display, but it would seem not. What's all that about?

That's priceless....

Ah, so it's a speech impediment? Here was me thinking he was always just steaming drunk.

Totally shocking behaviour..

Permanent? :fish:

Fair enough. I've said my piece on Miller now anyway. I do want him to score goals if he's gonna be getting a game.

It's been said that when Kenny doesn't have time to think about the shot he's about to hit on goal he's got more chance of scoring it. Don't know if that's true or not, but there may well be some truth in it. If he's not the brightest spark (stereotypical thick as shit footballer maybe?) then it stands to reason that he's not the greatest thinker. That's certainly appeared to be the case many a time I've watched him play & the shock of Boruc spilling it straight to his feet on Sunday was no exception. How many touches did he actually take there before realising/remembering what he was meant to do with the ball? I know I'm being a bit harsh, but I can't help it. I've watched KM play often enough to know that I didn't want him coming back to Ibrox because I thought we should be looking for a better quality of player. Well, he's here now & 2 OF goals doesn't prove anything imo.

Shocker. I'm from M'well myself, but I don't know what the hell they've been feeding their players down at Firpark.

At least Cousin was honest about his desire to play in the EPL & from day one as well which I respect him for. I wish him all the best down there. As someone else said though, he's gonna get a culture shock when he lands in Hull. Hull - The place where people get on & off of ships on their travels between places they want to be.

I would never boo a Rangers player personally. There's a big difference between giving your opinions on a player in a forum, a phone-in or whatever & being either stupid enough or drunk enough to heckle him when he actually plays for the team. I'm definitely not a Miller fan, but it's purely based on the fact that I don't think he's a quality player & think that he's actually done less for the Scottish national team than he's given credit for. Being a good grafter & team player doesn't make you a quality footballer. For a supposed 'striker' like Miller I personally think that having an excellent scoring record actually does entitle a player to be given the 'quality' tag even if other aspects of their game are slightly lacking. The reason for that opinion is that as we all know, football is a results driven business & realistically a starting striker at a top club like Rangers (or for our national team for that matter) should be 'scoring for fun'. It doesn't matter if they're not the fastest off the blocks or the hardest grafter on the park. If they can regularly score goals to the extent of racking up more than just a handful over a season, then that's the sort of quality I think a striker in a winning team should have. Simply put, in Miller's position as a striker, if you don't rack up the goals & hence help get the desired results for the team over the season, you're not going to be much more than a passenger. Last season we had 4 players that managed to score a good number of goals, a good number being more than a dozen. A goal scoring record at Miller's age should be a lot better than what his is, otherwise he's not a quality striker in my opinion. This leads me on to the fact that I'm not saying we shouldn't have signed Miller. I'm just not yet convinced that we should have. I can understand that the strike force might have needed a fresh face or 2, but personally I think we could have brought in a better striker than Miller. So why was he brought in then? More to the point, why was he brought in for the fee we paid for him? Was it a good buy? well, I honestly don't know. I'm guessing he was brought in because Walter & Ally knew what they were getting & thought it would not only be worth the money, but worth the risk. It's a risky purchase that somehow might just pay off for them, but only if he makes a major contribution to getting the results that win us the SPL this season & to do that I think he better keep up the goal scoring that he started in the OF game on Sunday. Either that or he better be setting up plenty for Boyd to score. That's actually what they might have had in mind when they brought him in. Maybe they thought he would add the right sort of balance up front alongside Boyd & be a good partner for him. That's the only reasoning that I can understand, but it's a long season & It's still to be proven to be the right decision.

UCF, if you don't count Novo's sub' appearances he's almost got as good a scoring record as Michael Owen during his 8 year stretch at Liverpool. Just shows you eh.. .. Boyd's is a quality scoring record though. The guy's a legend in the making & nobody can convince me otherwise. I'll need to get his full career stats into my signature.

Bit worried myself, but as long as he doesn't take a place from Mendes we should be ok. I'm hoping he'll link up well with Mendes, but if he comes back in without stepping up his game & instead goes straight back to standing on the ball trying to dictate the pace of the game (or should I say slow it down to a pace he's personally comfortable with) we might have a problem.

He'll get what he deserves eventually.... one way or another. If you act like as much of an idiot as he does, you've got it coming.
-
Or he likes his mums home-made soup?
-
Did it a wee while ago. Misser has zoomed from 89 to 91 career goals.
-
Yeah his first was ok. It was his second that worried me. Looked like he took 3 or more touches to finish what should have been finished in 1/2. Still, a fourth goal was better than no fourth goal.
-
You have to wonder if it would've been the same fate for him if the ref hadn't gone into the match with preconceptions about his conduct.
-
No way Cousin deserved the red. It was a terrible decision. I think the ref started loosing the plot a bit to be fair to him.
-
yikes, you're better doing that into a tissue mate. cheers!!!!!!!

His first goal was a decent enough goal, but when Boruc spilled it to Miller's feet for the second it honestly looked to me like he didn't know what to do with it. I wasn't sure if he was going to put it in the net or turn round & run the opposite way with it. Not sure if he knew either, but thankfully one of the wee things flying around inside his brain told him to stick it in the back of the net, so well done to him for listening to whatever it is that's flying around in there.

Totally agree & it's been the way for many years now. They've aided/shoehorned massive change in the course of history by doing so. That's why the media is a weapon that can be & has been harnessed by people with that sort of mindset. Mainstream newspapers should know better than to allow the blatant preying on the weak & biased reporting though since they'd have to be mad to think that it doesn't affect the course of the clubs they're reporting on, not to mention their own rag sales. One thing that really makes me wonder what's going on in Scottish football though & with the SFA in particular is why should supposedly professional SPL team managers be allowed to have not just close links with press insiders, but actually write their own columns in major tabloids? Seems not just strange or cringe worthy, but a complete & utter outrage to me.
