  1. Broadfoot as the best choice for lone striker? LOL, that's funny mate.
  2. Cammy, Boyd scored a header in one of the Cup finals last season. Think it was the Scottish Cup Final.

    Ulster day

Guys, sorry if my comments offended anyone. Maybe I just don't fully understand the Ulster connection. I'm just a Rangers fan that's interested in the team & club. I've got absolutely no interest in Ulster, red hands, flute bands, militancy or sectarianism. I understand that not all Ulster based RFC supporters are flute band playing bigots, but that's where it all gets a bit cloudy & confusing for me with our support because we talk about the plastic paddy element on the other side of Glasgow when in fact it seems we have the very same problem in a slightly different form. For example, if an RFC fan is born & bread in Scotland, why exactly should he be practically obsessed with Ulster, red hands, Irish flute bands etc? I just don't get it. No comprende.

No, that's not what I said. I'm not interested in Irish connections, red hands or bloody UVF shite. That's all.

I'm only interested in the team, the football they play & the press associated with it. I've got practically zero interest in the history or heritage in relation to any Irish connections. I'm a Rangers fan, not a red hand man. Is that alright with you?

TFFT. The last thing we need is bad press.
  7. I don't know how craig because he's not been given much of a chance in that role. He would need to be given a really good run out in that role before I could agree with you.
  8. I here you, but all I'm saying is that Boyd CAN indeed play the lone striker role. Despite individual performances, he DOES win a good share of headers when the ball is chucked up the park & he DOES get into goal scoring positions on a regular basis. To say that he CAN'T play that role when he's not really been given a fair chance is just all wrong imo. He's been tarnished by a media brush that'll take some serious washing off.
  9. Yep, it's a joke. It's like this myth that Boyd can't play the lone striker role. I'd put money on the fact that even when we had Cousin, Boyd could've scored or set up as many goals as Cousin in that role if given an equal chance. It pisses me off to see Scotland's best home grown striking talent being left out of the National starting line-ups as well.
  10. Now this is an interesting point Gribz. Firstly, yes they are a corporation, but more importantly, they're a corporation with undoubted & intrinsic links with our government. It seems to me as if they're actually the Governments' Broadcasting Corporation, so perhaps GBC would be a more appropriate title. If they're not being told what to spoon feed the 60 million sheep, they're being told what they're not allowed to tell them, especially when it comes to any issues of significance. It completely astounds me that the nation is dumbed down enough (not by mere chance) not to notice that there's something far wrong when so many important issues should be being reported in depth in news broadcasts and yet we're constantly fed insanely stupid & irrelevant stories designed to detract from the real stories & issues which should be being reported. There's no seriously in-depth reporting on the shifting of political & financial powers in the world because were not supposed to understand why stock markets are deliberately crashed & corporations bought over by one another. We're not supposed to be told that financial giants rule the world & have almost every government on the planet in their pockets. We're not supposed to be given any serious reporting on why or how the world's real rulers & financial elite got there or what they intend for their flocks. Instead we're spoon fed brief reports of rather significant issues followed by reports about some guy in the US that's dog called the cops when he took a fit... or other similarly stupid but cheerful 'stories'. It practically amounts to lying to us... lies, lies, lies. Listen, I'll stop rambling & just say good luck with the protest, but if you think you can really make a difference & cause change in a corporation like the BBC, you're not fully understanding what you're dealing with. It would take 30 million people protesting in the streets of Britain to cause any worthwhile change in the BBC & that change would only happen because the government says so or allows it.
  11. I'm thinking he'll stand on the ball looking a bit lost (as he does so often) & not play the game Mendes would like. If Mendes doesn't play BF's game the way he wants there could be an issue, but if they link up well consistently we're on to a winner. Fingers crossed eh.
  12. Crackpot might be a bit harsh, but given that we live in a wired world I think protesting in the way that Frankie has by writing an informed article on (or related to) the subject is more appealing, appropriate & potentially worthwhile.
  13. If I was standing outside the beeb with a banner, I'd think I was a crackpot.

Can they afford to pay someone 20 pints a day?
  16. Bottom line for me is goals, winning games & winning the SPL (in that order) and I personally think we'll score more goals in the season playing the 4-4-2, although I could be wrong. For me, we didn't play the 4-5-1 effectively enough last season. Yes it was a great season for the club, but it could have been better (as we all know). Points repeatedly going astray when they shouldn't be just isn't good enough. The 4-5-1 formation can be deadly when it's played properly & especially in the attacking sense with the wide men feeding the striker consistently, but for some reason I think we played more defensively in that formation than we should have been. Defend from midfield then attack on the break seemed to become... just defend. Ok there were a few glorious moments of counter attacking genius, but overall they were sadly lacking imo. If we continue with the 4-4-2 formation I for one wouldn't be happy at all to see Mendes replaced by BF & if they're played together I really wonder whether BF can step up his game to play the sort of football that Mendes aspires to. If he can then it could be an incredible partnership, but if not, it could be disaster with us loosing games we should never be loosing.
  17. Burke's a player I rate really highly & would love to have seen do better in his career, but unfortunately for him fitness statistics can't be questioned when it comes to value for money on a player cashing large wage packets. He's maybe been unlucky with injuries due to bad tackles, but not as unlucky as the club who pay for his medical treatment & rehabilitation year in, year out. The sad thing for me is that he had the potential for a great footballing career & to make RFC a LOT of money on a transfer, but I really can't see either of those happening now. I'd move him on with best wishes (so to speak).
  18. Aye, that scoreline put a smile on my face.
  19. Good point ...and a great article Frankie!! Hopefully articles like yours will make the right people think twice & wonder who fingers should really be pointed at in the current climate.
  20. My thoughts exactly. Realistically, it can only let the beeb know that RFC fans are pissed off at them (which they already undoubtedly know) & get general publicity on that fact. I suppose the general publicity might be worth it as long as it doesn't tarnish the name of the support & club, which may well end up being the case depending on how it's handled by the beeb & other Mhedia. Nevertheless, good luck & keep cool if you're taking part.
  21. Not as poor as sporting a tash & pointing to it upon scoring. :fish: It's a bit acrobatic for my liking (risk of needless injury), but it's up to him. I don't really care what he uses to celebrate as long as there's plenty of goals for him to do so.
  22. Agreed. You'd be likely to get some weird propositions.
  23. 2 for Boyd..... :D Signature edited.

I don't know for sure, but that's probably because people perceive them as doing the dirty work for a dirty government that's in the pocket of the businesses & financial institutions that run the world, (whether individuals in the forces realise that's what they're doing or not). They're trained to ignore their political views, but I think many of those actually serving in the armed forces are getting very tired of doing the work of the British government for a salary that doesn't pay them any danger money. The media won't publish it, or if they do it won't be available for much more than hours, but reports were coming out of Afghanistan from interviews with British forces where they were saying they didn't know what the hell the British forces were supposed to be doing there. Saying they'd either been sitting around getting heat rash or being sent out to patrol & protect poppy fields. Draw your own conclusions, but be sure that all is not what it seems. How many innocent people do you think have either died in Irac & Afghanistan or been contaminated by radioactive waste from depleted uranium bombs (aka bunker busters)??. Ok, I'll shut up before I get a chap at the door. Two last words - Nazis & Fascists
