The Sun reports on Celtic Fans' Poppy Protest
Zappa replied to Frankie's topic in General Football Chat
Far point & I do think their actions were a disgrace FWIW mate. -
It should have been Boyd giving Burley the wanker gesture, but I guess that might not have went down so well. :fish:

I still don't think he's good enough. Put another way, I think we should have brought in better quality than KM. Credit where credit's due though, he's trying harder to succeed in playing some decent football than he's ever tried in his whole career. Nice rant Cammy.

Hi John, I think if it was on terracing at Ibrox it would've definitely been a more pleasant experience to say the least, but I do honestly think that I'd still have felt an element of unease & even danger with the swelling backwards & forwards of the crowd. That said, I was only young then, so maybe these days I wouldn't feel the same. I'd have to visit a terraced stadium with similar support to ours to tell though.. Mark

Sorry for selective quoting you BD, but if you step outside of our little media driven box for a moment, you'll maybe notice that countries & generally large numbers of people of all sorts of beliefs & religions all around the world are anti- British (more so anti-English to be precise), simply because the British governments have done some terrible things throughout the past few centuries. -
About 15 or 16 years ago my next door neighbor gave me a Celtic ticket for an Old Firm game at Parkhead. I was only 18/19 & he was 40 odds married with kids, but my dad had told him that I couldn't get a ticket & he ended up having a spare because his own son couldn't make it. Anyway, my experience was strange all in all & went something along the lines of walking into a warzone/rubble type area known as barrafields where 4+ year old kids thought that throwing bricks around was OK. It was very strange, but then I wasn't brought up in a slum. When I got inside (in plain clothes of course), it turned out that I was in the Jungle. Well, I can tell you that it didn't feel good at all. Despite the obvious fact that I was standing amongst the dhim support & people that I really didn't like, the terracing made it even worse. The crowd swelling, swaying & general disorder of terracing made for what seemed to me to be a pretty 'on-the-edge', dangerous experience. It felt like if I lost my footing I'd be trampled by loads of drunken or elated Celtic fans, which of course would've been a bad thing for me. The crowd were swelling back & forth so much that I honestly could never condone returning to terraces in football grounds in general because I think it would just be a disaster waiting to happen. You only have to look to the countries who still have terracing in their top club stadiums to see what goes on these days. Barriers & fencing between sections of fans can't stop likely candidates from throwing abuse across the divide or more importantly causing violence by throwing objects at the opposition. Video footage & history clearly demonstrates that crowd surges caused by these out-brakes of violence and animosity between opposing support can be absolutely deadly & result in not only casualties, but deaths. Deaths at a football match are unacceptable to me, so no I'm definitely not interested in returning to terraced stadiums or even stadiums with sections of terracing. Don't get me wrong, the seated arrangement doesn't please me much either, since you need to stand to actually see the match & that feels awkwardly dangerous as well, but it's certainly the better option.

ricky, you defended like your lifes were at stake from the 10th minute (apart from that wee slip up that lost you the lead, not to mention a few others) & Fat Bhoy Micky D's (that's my new name for him btw ) goal was good, but not astounding. A good touch, chip the keeper (that's well off his line)... well played, but nothing to write home about. Maybe I'm biased tho.

Anyone notice that the beeb article headline begins with 'Teenager'??? Call me paranoid, but it seems like they're subtly trying to play it down by insinuating that this was a kid or something. The guy was 19. Going by the Mhanks breeding records... by all accounts he could have 3 or at an illegal push, four children by now.

I think Aalborg will beat them & I think they'll be lucky to get another home draw against Villareal, so they'll be out of the European stage till next yeary-io. Don't really care what they do tbh, but it's always great (& a huge bonus for us) to see them getting beat in domestic matches whereas there isn't quite the same pleasure seeing them getting beat or papt out in Europe. Almost, but not quite.

If you put 8 players across the front of your 6 yard box it's always going to be difficult for a better team to score against you.

I voted no, but I would possibly drop him the next time he lets in more than 2 against an SPL side. Some blame definitely does have to go on the defense as well though. Sasa & Kirkaldhinio seem to get caught out of position way to often imo. They all make mistakes tho.

Forced to watch it on that fucking TICTALK TV stream on JUSTIN.TV at my brothers flat & FFS, what a load of shite that was. Crap stream that kept stuttering & the bawbag that streams it decided to commentate the 2nd half while eating his fucking curry. What a sack. Funny as hell reading some of the abuse going in the chatbox from ManU & Rangers fans when the dhims lost the goal in the last few mins though.

Would love to read that guy doing El Chico's blog on the beeb!! How funny that would be! :fish:

40 people that SDM knows about doesn't mean that it's actually 40 people. Seems like a pretty dim statement to have made by someone who clearly isn't stupid.
-
Agreed 100%. In fact, they shouldn't even have been allowed in the SPL, never mind being given the chance to decide on the matter themselves. No adequate ground & facilities should immediately equal no place in the SPL.

What Now for the Sectarian Songbook of Celtic Fans?
Zappa replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
To be fair I think that both sides have a large non-sectarian support, but both sides also have their share of complete & utter muppets. That still doesn't mean that there's a proper balance though, which is pretty much stating the obvious.- 37 replies

Still think we should just have changed that line to 'The famine's over, but you're welcome to stay' or something similar. :fish:

If he notches up 30 - 35 goals this season, you'll still be saying he's boz Gribz. :fish:

Looks like he knew he was going to die & didn't want to leave his family with any football related financial burdens. It was his personal passion after all, not his whole families'. Having said that, it did seem as if he stiffed Gretna & all the clubs' support in the end. Damn shame for all the fans that traveled and invested their own time and hard earned cash into it. RIP to him anyway & all the best to his family.
