I would rather keep them both. They're both players with a good few years ahead of them. If Adam can develop the weaker sides of his game and stay fit, he'll be a real asset. With Burke it's more a case of avoiding injury and playing to his abilities. He's one of the most talented players to come through in the past decade, but he is definitely too injury prone. However, it's still a worry that he could move to another club and reach his potential, staying injury free in the process.

Who cares? He scored. I couldn't care less if he scores half his goals with his knee and the other half with his chin so long as he scores. You don't get bonus points for execution.
-
I think it would be more worrying if they never disagreed. You can be sure that McCoist has a huge amount of repect for Walter. More than enough to know his place, but you can also be sure that Walter didn't bring him in as his assistant to be a 'yes' man. Walter even said as much himself and the same with regards to McDowall.

Papac and Broadfoot provide extra cover for the centre so that makes 5. If you count Edu and Hemdani (while he's still here) as additional defensive cover, then it balances itself out to some extent.
-
Hopefully nothing too serious. Would mean Dailly or more likely Broadfoot taking his place if he's not fit.

My point was that any of our strikers, including the worst in recent history could have scored against the Dhims. Scoring against Celtic doesn't make a poor or average player brilliant. Jeffers failed to score in 8 appearances for Rangers. He was however a hard worker ...just not good enough. Sound familiar? To be honest, I don't have too much of a problem with Miller, so long as we're not relying on him to score enough goals to win us the title. It was good to see him get his two goals on Sunday and hopefully he'll score a few more throughout the season, but don't expect too much - that's all I'm saying.
-
It all depends on your interpretation of 'winning over' the support. I was wondering about that myself when I voted. I don't agree with booing any of our players. That said, I voted 'Not Yet' as I'm not yet convinced he's good enough to be more than a squad player. Franny Jeffers or Egil Ostenstad could've scored 2 goals against that mhob. Still wouldn't have made them good enough to be a starter for the gers and hence to have 'won me over'. The jury's still out on Miller as far as I'm concerned. Hope he keeps it up though, for all our sakes.

I know what you mean. At the same time though, we wanted to have adequate cover in the midfield so that we didn't rely too heavily on Ferguson. Now that problem's solved it would seem. I think BF's finally got himself some competition for a place in the team and that should be a good thing. I hope it works out that way at least. I think Burke's been injured so much, we've got used to him being out of the picture. With him not having long left on his contract, his days could well be numbered. That would be a real shame for such a gifted player. McCulloch on the other hand ...where do i start?

It'll be interesting to see how many more sending off's we get in the SPL this season for the same thing. One thing's for sure, big Lee's not going to last long . It's a difficult one to judge though and no doubt there'll be a fair amount of play-acting going on, which will only make matters worse.
-
Agreed Well they're both the same age. However, Novo's scored 108 goals in 295 appearances. Not bad considering more than 1/4 of those he's been played on the wing ...and he'd NEVER wear the hoops. Miller's overall career stats don't look TOO bad (just his recent history), but with 91 goals in 344 appearances he's still got a fair bit of catching up to do.
-
Hopefully a word in the ear from Kenny Miller can make him see sense. I'm sure it's not much fun playing for the whipping boys of the EPL.

Couldn't agree more. As for Cuellar, it would be great if he was still a Rangers player, but he isn't. Time to move on. At least the money we got for him looks like it's been very well spent. Too late in terms of CL qualification perhaps, but I also agree that we should have been able to beat Kaunas regardless. IMO our current reserve side (or even under-19's) should have been well capable of beating that lot. We lost to an inferior side. It's not the first time it's happened and it definitely won't be the last. Again, time to move on.

Well, it's apparently forgiveable for Gow IIRC Hemdani only has a year left on his contract. Obviously he'd prefer to be playing, but he seems to like his life in Scotland and at Rangers. Otherwise, Bougherra wouldn't have been saying how he sold him on a move to us.
-
'Reportedly' AEK Athens offered £400,000 for Darcheville last week and Hemdani turned down a move to Turkey. Personally, I'd like to see us hold on to JCD (especially if Cousin goes) and as much as I like Hemdani, I don't see him getting a game this season, so it would probably be in his best interest to move.
-
I think he just wants to play every week and that's the root of any 'want-away' issues. He said after the Fulham deal fell through that he wanted to stay at Rangers then reports and 'quotes' throughout the summer have suggested otherwise. However, at the age he's at, you can't blame him for wanting to have a crack at the Prem. As for the other stuff - Yes, he's gone AWOL in a few games, but that happens with most players. Then there's the head-butts. He only got sent off for one of them and to do the same thing in his next game was sheer stupidity, but it does make me wonder how we can hold this against him so much. Afterall, it's happened to the best of them (ZZ anyone??) and at the end of the day, us weegies invented the manoeuvre .
-
I would say 'Not Yet', but hopefully at least it will get the boo-boys off his back and he can push on from here and contribute a few more goals this season.
-
Best OF game in years. Well done to Kenny Miller for his his 1st (and 2nd) Rangers goal (second time round). Cousin was different class and was really unlucky to be sent off. Adam put in a decent shift as well, so the 3 players who caused a stir by being included in the starting line-up all played their part in a memorable victory. Whether it was purely tactical or just making good use of the squad, the way we set out our stall yesterday, really seemed to work. As for McGregor having a go at Miller, I guessed it was because he didn't follow McGregor's instructions properly for setting up the wall. Who knows ...who cares. I'm not going to be able to wipe this grin off my face all week now

Well at least that makes one of us. Personally, I think our support have been overcome by apathy on one hand and the mhedia onslaught on the other to such an extent that you couldn't tell them apart from the 'petty-rent-a-cause-reactionaries' from the east end. As soon as we missed out on 10-in-a-row the 'tide was turning' for us. Then through the millions spent during the Advocaat era and cash strapped famine of McLeish's reign we managed to win our fair share of titles, but as far as the mhedia propeganda was concerned we were the 'underdogs' to a 'dominant Celtic' ...and the worst of it is that we bought into their bullshit - Not just the fans mind you - The players and management joined in the chorus. I thought it was embarrassing enough for PLG to be declaring that lot as the benchmark, but then when Walter took over (the one man I would expect to stand up to the ba$$as) and spouted the same pi$h I knew we really had hit rock bottom. The truth (as far as I'm concerned) is that for the past decade there has been very little to separate Rangers and Celtic both in terms of ability and achievements. The mhedia however have persistently painted a very different picture and it seems virtually everyone has taken on board their biased revisionist history sensationalism as fact. As a result we're on to our fourth manager in a decade (would have been 5th if it wasn't Walter) and we're still complaining, rioting, protesting and generally making an ar$e of ourselves. At least we're not 'petty' though
-
I think that's exactly why. It's like throwing them to the wolves. One or two poor performances and they'd be written off by the 'support'. Don't get me wrong. It doesn't happen overnight, but it's become commonplace for the next 'great product of Murray Park' to be thrown on the scrap heap within the space of a season. Starts off with the usual F*kwits hurling abuse at them on the field, in the phone-ins and on the forums. Before you know it the whole lot of us are on their backs. Then we've got the cheek to blame the club for not investing in the youth.

It does read better with Boyd up front if you put it like: ------------------Mcgregor----------------- Whittaker-------Boogy------Weir------Papac ------Davis-------Mendes------Thomson----- -----Novo---------Boyd----------Aaron----- ...Makes him look a little less isolated Think JCD is a better option than Boyd for this formation, but just so long as it's not KM, I'll be happy. I'm looking forward to seeing this lad Aaron play, but I think for the OF game Beasley would be a better bet. Bring Aaron on with 10mins to go when it's already in the bag
-
No offence mate, but that's just crazy talk. Boyd - All the other strikers we have struggle to score half as many goals in a season. We couldn't afford a suitable replacement. Adam - Had a brilliant debut season after breaking into 1st team under PLG. Was one of if not THE top scoring midfielder in the SPL. Has faded badly this year, as have others in the past like Hutton for example. There's no doubt he's got talent, but obviously has had problems with form.
-
That's because having Adam and McCulloch in midfield is like playing with 9 men . Hopefully with us now having plenty of options, those two along with Dailly will get nowhere near the midfield this season ...except maybe the reserves.
-
In a word, yes

Excellent to see the Davis deal finally completed Our squad is now looking much stronger. It's amazing the difference a week can make. We could maybe still do with bringing in another defender, but overall I think we can feel very confident about the SPL title coming home.
