With all due respect Pete I beg to differ. It's not a gamble on our part. The real gamble would be a call for mercy. They think they can pick and choose a punishment to appease the 'masses'. I say we should step up to the mark and give them more to contemplate than the short term hardship for the sake of 'sporting integrity' scenario they think they're dealing with. Would they want to lose us for good? If they did then would we actually be lost? I can't answer the former, but as far as the latter is concerned - no, I don't think so. If anything it would give us freedom to apply to another league ...wherever. Would we have a better chance in that vote - probably YES.

As we should have known at the time and now know for certain. NONE of the parties tabled a suitable bid
-
Just like some fans are quick to forget his wasn't the only bid on the table and I'm not just talking about TBK's
-
Now all we await is Sir Alex's endorsement of Murray and Zeus....
-
...not owned them though.

At the end of the day, the proposed date of the march might be too late anyway if any takeover is going to happen sooner rather than later. I guess we'll have to wait and see what spin & counterspin we're fed this week and then decide if it's worthy of our interference. Unless we're given good reason other than playing favorites I don't think the fans should be weighing into this one.
-
Can't argue with much of that. As much as the WS group would be my preferred option, I don't think we should be fighting each other over the power struggles. Just let them play out and back the club to the best of our ability
-
Finally some 'transparency'. Thank the gods

I don't agree with them either. We should be fighting our corner to stay in the SPL with minimal (in other words deserved) sanctions. My point is that this whole shit storm has been created by those who wish to see us completely wiped off the footballing map. I don't see anything dignified in bowing down to that crap and likewise I don't see the sense in cutting off our nose to spite our face.

Both Green and Murray carefully worded their statements on the board appointments to hide that Stockbridge was from Zeus. Murray even went further than Green in his mention of both Zeus and Stockbridge while keeping the two seperated.
-
Exactly. It might be for a different reason, but still the same reasoning. Those amongst our own support who want the SPL to vote against our re-entry are either being vindictive against our rivals or have swallowed the 'sporting integrity' bullshit hook, line and sinker. You've got to ask - What's the difference?
-
...and somehow has a previous working relationship with one of them (yeah that's the financial director who they've tried to hide being a Zeus plant) despite the fact that both he and Ahmad were only appointed by Zeus this year.

I think Walter's decided to front this group because he's heard what's in store for the club from people in the know who he trusts. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he held off until his 'friend' who he mentioned told him exactly how precarious our situation now is.
-
All what bloody stuff? Yes he's had to put in a fair shift to get us to this stage, albeit not significantly more than the other bidders, but we lost the CVA and are now just at the starting line with a whole shitload of newco hurdles to clear.

Ally's on that amount of money because that's what we've been paying our managers ...and then some. He'd also no doubt, be willing to stay as our manager for a good bit less. It's not about the money for Ally. If it was, he wouldn't even be here. He'd be sat with a lucrative golden handcuffs deal from the beeb and raking it in on the celeb circuit. I stand by my point as I don't really know what makes it 'not correct' mate.

Generally I would agree with you on that. Football as a business isn't one that's easy to make money. I wouldn't even like to hazard a guess at how the money SDM put in and took out of Rangers balanced out. I've never tried. Green and McDonald on the other hand have as much as admitted to their plans amounting to using the club for their own financial gain. Don't get me wrong. If it all goes to plan, they'll walk away with a healthy profit from their venture and the club will be in pretty good shape. We'll have cash in the bank and we might even have some decent players that McDonald has purchased for us on his behalf. The problem is if it doesn't go to plan.
-
Thanks for clearing that up, so I would assume that my remarks on Mike McDonald were somehow inciting another 'anti-Green fan-fest' as you put it? Do you honestly, think this man McDonald's plans that he's been trumpeting about amount to any more than using our club for his own financial gain?

Why, because they said so!!!? A good, strong, healthy business = profit. That doesn't need be reflected by results on the field. Man Utd hadn't won the league in the 25 years leading up to it's flotation in '91. I hope I'm wrong, but I can see a vicious cost cutting exercise ahead of us over the next year. Additional investment will likely be brought in, but that along with fans cash will be placed and remain in the clubs bank account, while the squad is crippled. As soon as that cash at bank reaches the desired level and the accounts look rosey, the club will be floated on the stock market. Soon after, the club will be sold and the Green consortium will walk away with a healthy profit, leaving the squad rebuilding exercise to the new owners. Before anyone starts jumping down my throat I'll repeat I HOPE I'M WRONG
