  1. Oh the Dundee Derby = So fiercely contested you can call it a friendly:yawn:
  2. Especially if they represent more than the proposed 15% max shareholding or combined hold more than 49%
  3. I wouldn't say that we need a full 100% list of shareholders, but certainly once it's set in stone the fans should be given the identities of those who have greater than a 5% stake in our club.
  4. Funnily enough, you won't get much of an argument from me about PLG. He had his shortcomings and made some mistakes which led to his downfall, but I did feel at the time he was replaced with WS that in some ways it was a setback to both Rangers and the National side. Ironically, one of PLG's failings which was quickly rectified by WS was his defence. Our stability was restored and then solidified on that basis under WS. Ally then had the thankless task of doing likewise and restoring that foundation last season and imo did a good job. Considering that he was working to a limited transfer budget, Goian, Boca and Wallace were all sound purchases.
  5. First of all, I would have to again argue that last season in footballing terms was not a disaster. In fact the end result in terms of points on the board was probably about as much as could been expected from the best of our previous managers given the squad at our disposal. Bearing in mind that the squad was no stronger than the one which WS was so highly praised of winning the title with the previous season and points on the board (without the 10pt deduction) was higher than DA achieved with far far better resources in the 00-01 season, if you then (as you should) accommodate for off the field troubles, can you seriously call the manager's performance a disaster? As for the alternatives you've suggested, I'll admit Derek McInnes has done surprisingly well with limited resources at small clubs. He's however shown nothing to suggest that he could cut it (i.e. win titles) given an opportunity at a bigger club. Stuart McCall has looked impressive at Motherwell, as did the likes of Brown, McGhee and Butcher before him. Speaking of Butcher, how can you seriously criticise McCoist's early performance in his media duties and then suggest Butcher? It would be less embarrassing to bring back PLG to do the talking for him.
  6. It works both ways though. You probably don't see McCoist getting the praise he's due as a manager for the same reason. You did say before that you're not interested in other managers, but just out of curiosity, who would you replace him with?
  7. You and I aren't afraid to speak our minds on here mate. Why would you think it's a fair comment to suggest others are? By the same token though I admit that I did suggest fans who think our return to the SPL will be a walk in the park are deluded so, as much as it wasn't intended as such, that could also be perceived as an insult
  8. Most of the insults I've witnessed there appear to have come from rival supporters. Haven't checked today's responses mind you and if any of our own knuckle draggers have been giving him similar abuse then I would have to agree.
  9. I'm sure nobody will be taking it to heart (I doubt even Ally would if he was in any way interested in reading fan forums) but you did accuse fans who don't agree with you of being scared to criticise.
  10. I've been cutting Green some slack on that same basis so far. It would seem reasonable enough that such a large amount of potential investment is conditional that even he may not know what backers we actually have until we know if we'll be able to take part in any competition at all this season never mind what division and with what sanctions. Once we actually do have some certainty in these terms then I would be expecting an acceptable level of disclosure from Mr Green though.
  11. He's not half having a go at D&P then
  12. Was that a complement? Seriously though mate, like Ian said, everyone's entitled to their opinion and yours of McCoist has been made perfectly clear. You don't rate him. Fair enough. Doesn't mean that fans who disagree with you deserve to be insulted though.
  13. It wasn't the managers choice to leave us short of options up front. We had several signing targets last summer to bolster our striking options but they all chose to go elsewhere. We lost Naismith to injury and Jelavic was sold in January with no funds available to replace him. Can't see how that can be blamed on the manager. We lost a handful of games across all competitions that we should have won. Apparently, going by your logic, we've never had and never will have a manager who hasn't or won't be 'found out'. If you're assumption about us not playing in Division3 turn out to be correct, then I might agree with the rest of that statement. Paper over the cracks? Do you not think we might be just a little bit past that stage? We're facing a full scale rebuilding job here after all.
  14. It would be funny if, in the event that half the SPL clubs go to the wall, the SFL clubs rejected the offer to take their place and instead showed the SPL the door (via division 3) to join them.
  15. This blog seems a bit suspicious. What's with the 'Ibrox could be or is up for sale' nonsense at the bottom of the page?
  16. Interesting quote GS. Where did you get it from? Possibly deserves it's own thread.
  17. They've not forgotten. They just didn't agree with you in the first place.
  18. While you're at it do you have any idea where he's getting this £20m+ in fees from?. Had he maybe mislaid his specs when taking a look at the figures in the CVA?
  19. Found out how exactly? We finished a comfortable 2nd despite a 10pt deduction, despite playing half the season with a severe lack of options up front, despite having a bigger distraction of gargantuan proportions than chasing a last 16 spot in the champions league a la Eck. As for being more at ease. We don't have a team ffs. We've had no pre-season. We have limited funds to bring in players if and when we're allowed to. What sort of players do you think we'll be able to attract to Div3? As for the opposition, if certain SPL sides could have been accused in the past of raising their game against us what do you think the Div3 teams are going to be like? These are the teams that constantly cause cup upsets against SPL sides. Trouble is that most fans will be thinking that this is going to be a walk in the park. They're sadly deluded.
  20. Me too. I don't think it's going anywhere, mainly because I can't see D&P playing ball, but also due to the fact that I have my doubts over Di Stefano's sincerity not to mention ability to pull it off. If there's anything to it you would have to wonder why those who've already shown an interest in purchasing the newco haven't considered this course of action. Then again the short-sightedness shown by those parties has continually beggared belief throughout this saga, so you never know.
  21. I'd say you can probably count Hearts as well. Same problem as before though. Unless 7 clubs other than ourselves are prepared to vote yes, then it's a no-goer.
  22. Aye, well now that the precedent has been set, good luck trying to find a buyer for your soon to be newco Thompson.
  23. As much as I agree with that in principal, I don't think it would be a smart move for us to further involve the civil courts in any footballing matters.
  24. That's where it could get really messy. For instance if they determined that was the case for the 2001-2002 season, how does that effect our history since?
  25. Exactly. That's why the dual contracts (or documentation to such effect) are being used as evidence.
