Rangers: Sevco threatens administrator with legal action

If you're referring to the SFA, I think as far as their concerned it's just a case that someone (else) has to carry the can -
Rangers: Sevco threatens administrator with legal action

Technically, since that would be their duty as adminstrators of the oldco, you / the SFA are correct. However, their new testing protocol does get fudged a little with the oldco / newco situation -
Rangers: Sevco threatens administrator with legal action

'A consortium source' - WTF? Can you imagine tomorrow's board meeting ...'Right, which one of you three did it?'. Where's this extra £250k coming from all of a sudden? ...that's before we even get onto the disputed £500k. Also, why are they supposedly pissed off about this mystery sum and not the £milllions lost in the player registration purchase? -
Why nullify it when it's clear (at least imo) that Whyte, D&P and Ticketus were all working together on squeezing money out of RFC from square one?
-
That's the point though. D&P took no steps to null & void the PLC (oldco) Ticketus liabilities, despite there being a strong case in terms of financial assistance. Instead they did the opposite and established them as creditors.
-
Possibly for the same reason D&P didn't bring any legal challenge against Ticketus other than to firmly establish them as a creditor in the public eye via the high court in the guise of seeking legal advise.
-
I think he's wrapped up in it, to a similar effect as GWB being wrapped up in the war on terror. You could probably also compare the two with regard to level of intelect.
-
I don't think it's Whyte you should be concerned about on that front. I don't think Whyte is either intelligent enough or has the financial and political clout to have orchestrated our downfall beyond the simple witholding of tax. Any money that Whyte has made out of the fraud carried out against Rangers will be miniscule in comparison to the likes of D&P, LBG and various law firms involved. If indeed we have been the victim of a conspiracy, then you can be sure it's not Craig Whyte pulling the strings. He was the puppet, not the puppeteer. Therefore, I'm far more concerned about any hidden connection between our current owners and D&P and/or Ticketus than them being Whyte's 'end game'.
-
Probably not. Even though we're in Div3 though, it might still be worth the effort of trying to get a hold of some youth internationals. eg. Tià Sastre - Spain U18 international midfielder. Currently playing in Spanish 3rd tier for the Mallorca B side.
-
Agreed. Especially certain wealthy shareholders who claim to have seen it coming and could have afforded the best lawyers in the business
-
I think the problem here is that it hasn't been made clear enough to the voting clubs and their supporters not to mention our own players and coaching staff that we are not a new club and shouldn't be treated as such. Otherwise we wouldn't be having the problems with the SFA as we would have applied as a new club instead of applying for transfer of membership.
-
I've been checking out some under 18's who might be worth taking a look at: Kurt Zouma - St Etienne Samuel Umtiti - Lyon Kenneth Zohore - FC Copenhagen Lucas Andersen - Aalborg EDIT: made this list a few weeks back. Zouma & Umtiti are French U19 Internationals. Zohore has just signed for Fiorentina and Anderson is reportedly attracting interest from Ajax and Liverpool. Back to the drawing board then....

NO NEED TO SHOUT MATE!!!! You're correct of course. It's called a 'transfer embargo' but the SFA can only enforce it (albeit unlawfully) by refusing to register new signings as they can't very well control who we employ ...Unless their name's Craig Whyte. It doesn't really matter what you call it as at the end of the day the result's the same. It would be difficult enough to attract players to Div3, but I can't see any being willing to take a year out as part of the deal.
-
Was it not also speculated that the transfer embargo may be suspended to allow us to bring in replacements during this window?
-
It was under 18's and you're right about the registration. We could sign players and loan them out for a season possibly, although I'm not sure how the registration would work on that one.
-
No doubt any expected prosecutions / convictions of fraud against Rangers would be interpreted by the SFA as bringing the game into disrepute. Even though, same as last time we'd be the victims, you can be sure the corrupt SFA would want to punish us for it.
-
I've been saying that all along. Even if it takes 3-4 times as long to get to the EPL as it would do the SPL it would be worth it.
-
Not technically the same, as the transfer window doesn't apply to free agents.
-
If we can negotiate to allow signing free agents and under 18's it might be acceptable.
-
Thing is, if we don't accept the transfer embargo it probably wouldn't block the transfer of membership, but we've likely been warned that the alternative is a 1yr suspension.
-
Something to the effect that Div1 would have been pushing it Not now that he's made the Arsenal 1st team squad. We can sign players. We can't register them at present though.
-
Harsh. The lad showed some potential when given a chance. He's not the 'Rangers Class' of bygone years by a long shot, but he'd be a welcome squad player in the SPL and a real asset in the lower divisions.
-
Healy's gone. Kerkar's in negotiations to renew his contract and Edu is likely to leave. ...That's a best case scenario in Div3.

Leggat - Ticketus And The Season Ticket Cash Plea By Green
UCF2008 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If you were that concerned about your investment becoming public knowledge you probably wouldn't invest in us at this point in time anyway. -
The way events have been unfolding it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the SFA hold off until transfer deadline day to decide whether or not we can register players.
