  1. I'd like to see the club challenging this by signing a free agent in between this transfer window and the next. Apart from having employment law on our side, it's supposed to be a 12 month embargo.
  2. We can sign them, but can't play them. AFAIK we won't be able to register any players over 18 until Jan 2014
  3. We'll never know if it would have made a difference, but at least Green's contribution to the outcome wouldn't be in question. Could we not have delayed the transfer of players to the newco for instance? Since the administrators held funds to cover wages - the same funds the club recently claimed were overdue in being handed over by D&P - Would it not have been wiser to hold off on the player TUPE until after they'd returned for pre-season. This would have given an opportunity for face to face talks and for the club's situation to become clearer before these decisions had to be made. Do you think D&P chose to rush it through?
  4. Probably a variety of destinations for that cash. Something tells me that it won't result in millions to spend on the worlds best 18yr olds over the next 18 months. With a bit of luck our first set of accounts will look very healthy though.
  5. Had me worried for a minute. Thankfully these idiots make it too easy to join the dots and trace it back to them.
  6. Appears to have been cobbled together by an ex-pat St Johnstone fan and a Tim. More here It's based on a combination of speculation and D&P figures. Also gives a nod in the direction of this character and his mythical set of figures. No, it's not reliable. This was actually conjured up as the most recent revised set of figures by the aforementioned tim with the help of the St Johnstone fan's analysis.
  7. Can't really say I disagree with much of that. I also agree that the fans and manager were owed that last bit of loyalty. However, surely you have to admit that the speculation the players were left to absorb in the absense of communication from the club could have put some question marks over the owners motivations and intentions and therefore what they were likely to do with any money brought in from the sale of those players. With the benefit of hindsight, do you think Charles Green could have approached the players TUPE in a better manner? If he had the opportunity to correct his mistakes, do you think he would?
  8. Who's going to give Green his £2m shareholding when the job's done?
  9. That's shocking, especially when you consider that McCoist is/was a partner in the agency that represents him. How the hell did we manage to con him into signing a 5yr deal on those terms? Any idea what he was on with the pay cut?
  10. Agreed on Miller and Boyd. Also, if it turns out that the PFA and the countless employment advisers & specialists who've chimed in on the subject of the contracts and TUPE rights were wrong and we win compensation for the likes of Naismith then I agree that there is a difference between that and what happenned with the likes of Boyd, Novo, Lovenkrands etc. Absolutely and sorry if it seems like I'm picking on you for an argument mate. Was enjoying the debate myself tbh, but I'm fine with leaving it at that.
  11. For the sake of pure speculation, how do you guys think the flotation is going to work? I've been wondering since Green says the fans will be offered up to a 50% stake in the club, then taking into account the 1st (£10m) and 2nd (£20m) rounds of fundraising, how that's going to work. Would it be safe to assume that a 50% shareholding will be floated at double the initial (1st round) share price. In turn all existing shareholdings would be diluted (halfed approx) but they get their money back and the club gets approx £10m?
  12. It's not a case of believing anyone's lies. There were a lot of different factors contributing to the players deciding to stay or go. It's not all black & white. Money was without a doubt a large incentive in some cases a lot more than others. I don't think any of the players appreciated being left in the dark. Even Lee McCulloch was commenting on that while committing himself fully to the club. I think several of the players who opted to leave would have TUPE'd if the club had handled things differently. I think a couple of them would even have stayed if we were in the SPL or Div1. Ironically imo the two most likely candidates on that front would have been the first two who refused to TUPE, McCabe and Aluko. Some of the players do deserve more criticism than others. Naismith made several ill advised comments in his leaving statement for instance, some of which are still being dragged up as ammunition for our enemies. However, one thing worth pointing out in terms of their refusal to give us the chance of a fee is that these guys aren't exactly the first to do so. Otherwise we would be similarly vilifying the likes of Boyd and Miller. Did they not deny us the opportunity to receive a nominal fee afterall?
  13. From reports I've babelfished on the Argentinian lad it seems like he could potentially be a really good investment. One in particular went more than a little OTT in praise of the kid while comparing his skillset to Christiano Ronaldo. He appears to have been a key player at youth level for Boca, earning a number of international caps at various youth levels. Strange that we're even getting a sniff at him tbh.
  14. On the Friday, just over a week after he himself threatened to quit, Ally McCoist issued an official press release in response to reports that 2 players (McCabe & Alluko) had refused to TUPE. Those two were to be the first of many. In that statement he asked for any players leaving to be honest with the fans. I agree that it has to be done correctly on both sides. My point is that it sadly wasn't. Green was publically saying the opposite to the PFA regarding the players TUPE rights and threatening recourse should they go. Meanwhile he had just sent the players a letter which halfway through a calendar month was threatening their right to object to TUPE should they accept their wage. Do you think that was the correct way of doing things? You clearly don't have any concerns about who owns the club, so why shoul the players? Am I right?
  15. I don't think many people have gone through what the Rangers staff have in the past 6 months. Just think what we as fans have gone through and then factor in that it's also your job. Still run of the mill everyday stuff to you? My personal opinion on this has got nothing to do with whether I trust Green or not. I'm actually starting to warm to the guy. I don't belive every word that leaves his mouth, but I do think he's starting to get a feel for the job. I also still don't agree with the decision those players made. I called them deserters at the time and I stand by that. I don't agree they deserve to shoulder all the blame and to be accused of acting out of greed alone though.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but was it not some time after these players refused to TUPE that Ally McCoist refused to vouch for the new owners and recommend that fans buy season tickets? The reason I ask is that if the players consulted with Ally what do you think he would have told them at the time? You say they would have been paid their full salary anyway. Did we have enough funds available to cover those wages? I'd assume your none the wiser than me on that one. We both know they weren't paid their full salary by the previous owner. What reason did they have to trust that the new owner was any different all things considered? Blind faith? Like I said before, I agree that Green & co had a lot of other things to contend with in those initial days of the takeover. That doesn't change the fact that they failed to properly secure their investment though.
  17. Don't know about his choice in footwear for his signing photoshoot but hopefully this put's you're mind at ease
  18. If you look at it from the player's perspective, you've got all this going on. You finish the season without knowing if you'll have a job to come back to. No communication from the club. Just media specualtion to go on - something they were until then trying to avoid having to get their heads round. Will Rangers survive? SFA punishments with more crimes to answer for. What is a newco? Who are these people who've taken over? Can we trust them? What does this mean for the players? Why are the PFA saying the opposite to D&P about the transfer. What league are we going to be playing in? Why do they all hate us so much? Are any of them going to let us play football next season? What does this mean for my career? How will I pay the bills? All these questions going round in their heads and the only correspondence they get from the club reads something like 'I now own you. You have 14 days to object to the transfer of your registration. By accepting your forthcoming wage you will waiver this right.' It's easy to say that they're Rangers players who claim to love the club and should have stuck around ...at least to give us a transfer fee, but their human beings, not cattle. When you actually consider what they were dealing with their decision is regrettable, but it's also understandable.
  19. There's different ways of looking at it. D&P are largely to blame as well. They're the one's who instead of letting players go, even to the point of turning down offers, decided to negotiate with the players over wage cuts. They're the one's who dragged out the administration process to the point where if reports are to be believed they ended up selling to the fourth or fifth highest offer, because they opted for a preferred bidder route. They're the one's who said they wanted to go for a CVA, but insisted on a newco proposal from all bidders. They're the one's who sold the club to a late bidder with a CVA proposal that was destined to fail. They're the one's who sold the player registrations to said bidder as assets while claiming that the players had no option but to transfer over. What sort of adminstrator doesn't understand TUPE regulations? Seriously, you couldn't make it up. Yes Green & co are largely to blame, but they were essentially dealing with a lot of logistics (not to mention all the other nonsense) over a very short timescale at the time of the takeover. They were dropped (albeit eagerly) right in at the deep end. More to the point (more than likely based largely on the advice of D&P) they appeared to be treating it like a simple takeover ...what could possibly go wrong?
  20. The players had their reasons for leaving. I don't agree with them, but in some cases I think it could have been avoided. Coisty could possibly have done more to persuade some of them to stay, but Green having had plenty of previous experience dealing with players and their agents should really have known better than to approach the TUPE transfer in the way he did.
  21. Yeah it's been confirmed on the Rangers website
  22. That was before we signed Faure though. Maybe his agent or national coach had a word in his ear. Or Coisty even asked him to go to free up some wages. Who knows. Personally I wish the big man all the best.
  23. Confirmed on official site that it's a 1yr loan to Spezia. On Edu, just says 'it's believed' Stoke are interested.
  24. If it's true that Goian's away to Brescia that's now 6. It could be argued that it's only five as we'd only play Broadfoot at centrehalf as a last resort. Considering we've been playing at least 3 centrehalfs for the majority of the past 5 years and so far this season we've been going with 3 at the back, I don't think it's too many.
  25. It's worth bearing in mind that 3 of those still haven't committed to the club and could be offski at the first decent opportunity over the next 18 months. Also IIRC Heggarty only signed a 1 year contract.
