  1. I appreciate what he tried to do as well. He could have been great for the club, but it wasn't to be. IMO he made a few poor decisions off the field which caused a divide in the squad and cost him his job.
  2. That's the part which makes the least sense. You could have a team in the Premiership lose 22 games and finish bottom, raking in £730,000. Meanwhile a team could win 22 games in the Chamionship finsihing top and only get £387,000 before their points tally is reset to zero. If the same teams ended up first and last in their play-off 8 league they'd get a further £200,000 and £25,000. So you'd have a team that finished last in both stages getting more money than the team which finished first in both. I thought this was supposed to be a 'fairer' financial distribution model.
  3. I wouldn't go that far As long as you can see the only badge that means anything, that's all that matters
  4. I don't see what a shirt deal has to do with ambition.
  5. iirc it was our senior players who were responsible for the 'mutiny' and as much as it's been speculated that Le Guen's training regime was to blame, I think it's safe to say there was a lot more to it than that.
  6. If true, then we could do a lot worse than Juventus who have one of the best youth setups in Italy. They also have a far better scouting network than our own.
  7. I agree with the sentiment and do think that we will have our part to play in reconciliation over the next few years. Like Murray, I worry about a lack of dignity being shown by those in charge of our club as we move forward, but we do need to keep in mind the situation we curently find ourselves in is far removed from anything the club has faced before. We have plenty of battles still to be fought and won off the pitch before we can be in a position to lay down our swords. Mr Murray would do well to remember we're not the antagonsists in this story and it's not over yet by a long shot.
  8. I really can't understand how this character's managing to stay in a job. He's chief correspondant for Channel 4 News. He's covered 20 wars in his 22 years on the programme. Channel 4 have never shown any interest at all in British football, let alone Scottish ...Let alone Scotland for that matter. Yet here's this joker carrying out a crusade against our club on their behalf. Seriously WTF. It's like if Chick Young decided all of a sudden he was going to devote all his airtime on Sportsound covering American Politics. It really is that off the f&*king wall
  9. or keep the club attractive to potential buyers when he put us into administration
  10. Green's comments on club website re: Fleck and Davis
  11. McCoist saying "We would like to keep Neil as well because I want to have two strong goalkeepers and then it would give me the opportunity to send Scott Gallacher out on loan" I'd accept swapping Bell for Alexander but to want both is a complete waste of money. At this level we could probably lose Alexander and get by just fine with Gallacher and Currie. The money would be far better spent in a position that at least offers entertainment value from a player who's been brought in to do more than sit on the bench.
  12. Green and his takeover partners didn't do enough to get the players on side. They didn't even have the trust of a majority of the support at the time. It was their investment so why were they going along with the threatening tone of D&P treating the players like a piece of meat instead of trying to protect their investment by treating them like people. McCoist was on holiday and as Jig said had his phone switched off. When he did speak to the players, if Naismith, Whittaker and Lafferty are to be believed he didn't try to persuade them to stay. The players aren't blameless. Like I said, I don't think anyone is, but this whole 'they weren't banging on doors' excuse is a bit flimsy to say the least.
  13. Yes and those two didn't try to persuade the players to stay either. If you're sure they were so approachable then why was Jig on the radio saying the opposite? Meanwhile you've got D&P and the PFA bickering over the legalities of the TUPE.
  14. Why are you getting so defensive about Green all of a sudden again?
  15. I think a lot of it stemmed from the negative reaction to Bill Millers Newco plan
  16. Which is probably what would have happened if the TUPE hadn't been so badly handled by everyone involved.
  17. 3 or 4 months off and avoid being called a traitor by your fellow supporters. Sounds like a good deal to me.
  18. He could have joined them. They just wouldn't have been able to register him to play until the transfer window opened. Like we did with Black and Shiels.
  19. ...Not to mention the fact he was injured at the time
  20. It was an offer to buy. It's not like we would have been paying his wages after selling him. We could have maybe kept him to the end of the season, but all things considered that would only have been doing West Brom a favor
  21. In some cases probably, but then there was West Brom who went in with an offer for Naismith despite not being able to play him.
  22. The ones that wanted the player in question the most I would guess.
  23. And would have been more dificult to sell which is why D&P didn't make wholesale redundancies in the first place.
  24. So that would have been OK then would it? Are you saying they only took the wage cuts for selfish reasons or am I missing something?
