This article has Green admitting that Whyte was behind his consortium to take over the club. That if the CVA went through, Whyte would be majority shareholder. So for starters, Green's been lying to us. Of course the CVA didn't go through and the assets were transferred to Sevco 5088, the company of which Whyte was the majority shareholder. But wait a minute. Did Green not say that Whyte was Sevco 5088? So let me get this right here. Sevco 5088 under the ownership of Whyte purchased the assets and Green then transferred the assets without the owners permission to Sevco Scotland? Am I wrong?. Please someone tell me I'm wrong .

Although we got him on a free I think there would still have been a signing fee. Those do tend to be higher for free agents.

Generally speaking I agree with you there, but it's worth taking into account players that we might not have considered being released at the end of the season. Obviously in those cases there's not going to be much in the way of games to scout, but Murray's scouting contacts might have been useful for some information beyond bringing those players in on trial and taking a look at them in training.

I'd imagine Ally is probably upset to see at least one of them go, but only the last three have any direct bearing on him in terms of his appointments/decisions possibly being undermined. Kyle was only on a one year deal and continued to have injury problems while Sandaza didn't turn out to be as good a signing as Ally would have expected. I don't think he'll be too dissappointed to see either of them go. As for Murray we can't know for sure if it was even Ally's call to bring him in as Chief Scout, but I would think Ally would be annoyed on a personal level but moreso to see his preparation for next season already being thrown into turnoil. I guess that depends on the ongoing consultancy with Murray mentioned by the club and how quickly a new chief scout can be appointed not to mention hit the ground running. I don't see any evidence that Green is trying to force Ally out. I don't think Ally will look at it that way either as he was saying just the other day...

According to him, he was prepared to take a significant wage cut to negotiate 2 years. Maybe this is true. Maybe it's also true that by the time this was proposed Bell had been signed and it was too late leaving Alexander with the scraps as an offer. We don't know. If these situations were better handled in the first place though... What happened to 'my door's always open'?

I think Charlie likes making it appear that way. The club really needs a chairman you can comfortably put behind a microphone to help balance that one out.

Longmuir: SFL has not shown 'favouritism' to Rangers
UCF2008 replied to pete's topic in Rangers Chat
If it's good enough for the bottom... If we weren't currently sitting in Div3 OR the proposals were being put forward with a season's notice, I'd expect the size of the bottom league would be the proposal taking the least flak. Even as things stand I've not seen much in the way of objection or ridicule of a bottom 18. Why's it not good enough for the top then? 'Meaningless' games and a requirement for four OF fixtures seem to be the only reasons put forward. -
PM David Cameron backs Rangers and Celtic move to Premier League

I agree with a lot of what he's saying as well in principle. I just think the viewpoint he's putting forward is too heavily based on idealogy rather than reality. The facts and figures look great but they assume we can actually take everything that's rightfully ours. For the most part the politicians promises towards taking Scotland forward as an independent nation simply can't be delivered. Getting back to the OP, what annoys me here is the way we're painted as northern invaders as if to say 'look at the Manchester riots. Potential Rangers fixtures against our smaller clubs are a recipe for disaster.' Meanwhile the other lot are made out to be a group that need to be welcomed with open arms. That they just need to somehow be better integrated into British society . -
I don't think they would have been sacked. The club have taken about as extreme a course of action as they could have done here but at the same time they did have to show that the matter was being dealt with. It wasn't just a breach of contract. It could and probably would have been argued that it was a rules breach if the club hadn't acted.
-
I agree that some of the recent activity at the club does pose some questions. Although, if any player is desperate to leave the club I think it's for the best that they do so.
-
It does seem opportunistic from the club to some extent. However I can't see much in the way of arguement from Sandaza that he didn't breach his contract and put the club in the position where it had to act in one way or another. It's sad to see the player taking all the blame though. Hopefully Sandaza will see fit to take legal action against the real culprit here and not the club.
-
Or that it's not good PR to treat the club captain like dog dirt?
-
Bain did similar to a few players and he deserved to be slated for it.

As some of you may have noticed I'm not Alexander's biggest fan and I'm not going to just take his (or the Rhebel's) word for it, but what he's describing here is not the right way for the club to be dealing with the players. I'm not fussed about holding onto him and it would appear the club isn't either. Business is business, but this is a team sport and mistreatment of employees doesn't fit well in this arena. I'm not particularly happy at Alexander blabbing to the Rhebel, but I can at least understand why he's done it ...If he actually has.

The figures are diverse between sources and do not remain static. As you can see from the article I posted, Scotlands financial centres are in decline and Glasgow is currently recognised as larger financial centre than Edinburgh. You said that the worst effects of the recession were avoided in Scotland with Edinburgh still ranked 15th in the world. Yet the chief executive of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce appears to claim the recession is the reason for Edinburgh falling almost 40 places on the global financial index to 59th. I think your SNP pamflet is a bit out of date TRPB. I think you'll find you're wrong here. Sure, the Scottish government could place it's assets in a newly established central bank. Ownership of the bank itself is not irrelevant as the cost for the government to go it alone would be huge. That's brilliant. Utopia is truely on the horizon. I can't be bothered arguiing with any of this. If your facts and figures hold up then that's great. Minus the 15% that the English stole in 1999. Do you think what remains of the UK would just sit back and let Scotland take the rest? We're talking about the largest industry in the UK here and a major contributing factor to those 'criminally stupid and immoral foreign wars' you referred to. I can understand why you think our future would be so rose tinted. The nationalist propeganda is effective. Facts of life mate. I'm not happy to stay in a country where people would kill me for my wallet or trainers either, but I don't see many options. It took people of that mind a lot of time and effort to infiltrate those positions of power. They've had Scotland covered for a lot longer. -

Since you mention it, to me it seems pretty obvious that the club wants to keep the reason for the suspension and dismissal under wraps. I expect there's good reason for this and have no interest in finding out what it is.
-
I'd assume when you suggest 3 more years to reach the top that you're referring to Europe Craig Boca will be 34 this season coming. By the time we're ready to launch an attack on the SPL title he'd be 36 which is the same age Weir was when we brought him up from Everton. Obviously Weir is an exception, but I'd still like to think we could get another 2 or 3 good years out of Boca. He's made no secret of how much he likes life at Rangers and I don't think he'll be short of a few bob so I suppose it might come down to how much he wants to keep playing
-
Many of the best Rangers players over the years have had less successful stints at other clubs. It works the other way as well. We've had some real turds who've done very well elsewhere. All we can do is trust our scouts and hope for the best once the signing is made because there are a lot of factors involved that even the best scouts can't know the outcome to beforehand.
-
Those others apparently don't count as domestic league titles ...at least not if you take wikipedia's word for it.
-
If reported figures are to be believed, Alexander cost us roughly that wage this season. We thank him for his service when he turns his nose up at an extension and yet expect two foreign players who showed the same 'loyalty' to just tear up their contracts? Or would we prefer to spend almost the equivilant of one of those salaries to pay both of them off and see nothing in return? An alternative (especially in the case of Boca) might be to try and negotiate an extension which is structured in a similar less pay now more later fashion to Sandaza's contract.
-
We won the title 3 years on the trot with a high wage bill while Lloyds kept spending in check. We were successfully reducing the debt over that period. The wage bill can be high as long as it's sustainable. The wage bill didn't cause the problems for the club. It exasperated them but it was poor decisions from the clubs owners which caused the problems in the first place. I don't think we'll be paying either of them £15k a week if we've got a choice in the matter, but at the end of the day if that's the contracts we gave them and we end up stuck with them then we can either pay the wages and play them or pay them off and get nothing in return.

Doesn't have a great league record despite managing two giants of Euopean football over a period of seven years and didn't do well at all the last time he left Holland for the Dortmund job. A UEFA cup speaks for itself and he did take Holland to the world cup final. Their performance in Euro 2012 was shocking though. You'd know a lot better than me what sort of system he likes to play with Pete.
-
Yes because I can't remember any other Rangers manager having done the same. He must be pi$h if he has to resort to that
