It does look that way. Whyte brought in D&P or D&P brought in Whyte. Which ever way suits, they didn't see enough money tabled to give them their pay day so they brought in Zeus and let the fans and investors pay the costs

rangers statement on todays board meeting.
UCF2008 replied to the gunslinger's topic in Rangers Chat
"Mr. Green will deal with the pending S.F.A. charge on this matter on a personal basis" While he's the CEO he is a representative of the club. There's no way of putting distance between the two. The SFA sure as hell won't see him as an individual whether he's still CEO or not. As far as they're concerned he said it while he was performing his club duties. -

Seriously though. Does that statement not read as if the Green's going to be dealing with the SFA on his own and not as an active CEO of the club? -

Maybe it's just me, but the more I think about it the more that reads like Green and Ahmad have been suspended pending the outcome of an independent investigation. We just can't say they have until we've informed AIM. It's an independent investigation becuase the board's fractured and with Green and Ahmad unable to vote Zeus Capital have lost their majority Pure speculation of course -

I've got a couple of issues with this statement. Why only the non-executive directors? Does Stockbridge not have a say or has he already made his mind up? What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are they saying we as a club distance ourselves from Green on this matter? If so do they not remember how that worked out before? If the club isn't going to stand by any employee never mind our CEO in an SFA disciplinary matter then how can he still be in a job? -
That says Whyte and Earley have been directors of Sevco 5088 since 11am yesterday

Apart from this one? Granted there's a difference between being sacked and being made redundant.. Just as there is between being made redundant and leaving of your own choice. Interesting choice of Mhedia outlet to give an exclusive interview nonetheless

I can understand with Traynor he's a former colleague, a known shit stirrer and has no allegiance to the club. He's also the obvious prime suspect though and don't think he'd be stupid enough to be leaking so much. With the others you've mentioned I've got absolutely no idea what they think could be achieved by all of this. At least for Walter and Ally I don't think there can be any doubt they put the club first. I don't think either of them are foolish enough to fail to see the danger they would be putting the club in.

What a visionary Mr Forsyth must be. I think it's becoming pretty obvious we've not heard the last of this.
-
How do you know his sources are impeccable?. Do you know him or any of his sources personally?
-
Of course it is and our club has been put in a perilous position here. My own opinion is that a clearout of Green, Ahmad and Stockbridge would be an admission of guilt which could kill the club. They'd walk off gagged and be either unable or unwilling to defend themselves and in turn the club as the witchhunt ensued. That's not sensationalist nonsense. It's the obvious conclusion drawn from events last Summer and again over the past week. Howver despite the best efforts of the Mhedia and the dark forces at work in Hampden the fact remains we can only be our own undoing here.
-
Or it could just be more shit stirring speculation from the the Rhebel. Not a single quote. Not even a mention of a source.

I've decided I don't want to know the truth and I don't care if they lie to us. Just so long as they do a good job of it and do only what's in the best interest of Rangers. If they manage to make money for themselves in the process of bringing success to the club both on and off the pitch I'll be happy with that.

In fairness to Strachan the article is very misleading as he was talking down the prospect of Rangers and Celtic moving down south. Something which the article conveniently left out, but confusingly left in the comment about 'killing everyoneâ??s dream'. Strachan was only sticking to his guns and repeating a view he's held for a number of years. I'm surprised where we've got this type of sensationalst shabby journalism with predictable sh:te being spouted by one of our favourite hate figures that we would choose to have a go at Strachan.

Interesting you should mention that as I think it's the lines that Green was thinking along at the time. He was just finished talking about having no issue with signing players whatever their background and this led onto â??The sectarian element of the Old Firm has been a hard thing to get used to. That is something that Iâ??ve found truly amazing and hugely surprising to find this divide in Scotland. It is a completely new concept to me. I was brought up in a mining community where whether someone was black, white, Catholic, Salvation Army, Protestant, made no difference." This is the context in which he was discussing the use of the words and this section of the interview was even introduced with 'Green insists he hates the growing political correctness that is creeping into society...' Personally, I'd like to see a full transcript of the interview as it appears to me that he was trying to make a point which is actually relevant to Rangers. If this is the case though, Can you imagine the outcry if he'd got straight to the point and used the 'f' word? Getting back to the 'h' word, I think you'd find plenty folk on here wanting action to be taken if a Septic employee used that term in an interview.

You missed out Earley and Withey ...They'll be sh@tting it too

Financial blow for Scottish football's restructure plan
UCF2008 replied to bigy's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes they voted that one through. SPL clubs going into admin will receive the greater of a 10pt deduction or one third of the previous seasons points total. Since the proposed fixed penalties weren't voted through for newco cases, those will be dealt with on a case by case basis with the clubs voting as they did in our case. -
I don't think anyone without a bias against Rangers is questioning the context. His use of the words and attempts to condone their use while speaking as our CEO is the problem. Considering the response to his comments with allegations of racism you'd have thought it should have been a priority for him to do the right thing and apologise. At least he got there in the end.
-
He just can't take full credit for most of the things he's got right. Unfortunately for him the same would be said for the things he gets wrong if he didn't let his mouth do as much work for him.

Financial blow for Scottish football's restructure plan
UCF2008 replied to bigy's topic in Rangers Chat
If anything the SFL have a history of being far harsher than the SPL on clubs going into administration. The SPL let Motherwell, Dundee and Livingston off with warnings. Meanwhile the SFL threw the book at Dundee & Livingston . Even Dunfermline have now been given more punishment by the SFL than the SPL handed us for going into admin ...or at least that would have been the case if we'd successfully negotiated a CVA exit. -
I suspected this would be the case as soon as I read those comments from Green in response to Whyte. To be honest I'm surprised it's taken them as long. Maybe we'll also be hearing of some action being taken by the police to investigate some time around 12 months from now.
-
As far as I recall it was in response to us getting voted out of the SPL that a large portion of the support started calling for Div3 as opposed to dealing for Div1. Besides we didn't have to plead or negotiate. Some simple diplomacy alongside a clear picture of the clubs ownership and financial viability might have swung it. None of which Green and Murray were capable of delivering.
-
He's been calling the shots for almost a year now and he still seems to need reminding that he should be more careful with what he's saying. You say he started off with the club being demoted as if he played no part in it whatsoever. It could be argued he was a central figure in the process of our being voted out and didn't do what a really good CEO might have done and swayed the vote in our favour. I'm obviously not saying it was his fault as he was effectively thrown in at the deep end, but neither am I convinced that battle couldn't have been won.
-
Correct. The SFL had this sanction available to them. In our case, as was proven in court, the SFA disciplinary tribunal didn't have this option. Also, the reason for the initial sanction in our case wasn't administration but a disrepute charge mainly relating to the club's failure to pay more than £13m in taxes last season.
