Can't believe anyone thinks McCoist had to build a team from scratch on a shoe string budget , he authorised contracts to players such as Sandaza and Black at £7000 a week each ( oh and we had been offered them 3 weeks prior for £1500 a week , before they both changed agents ) , this at a time when we were playing against part timers in the 3rd division. I still think they needed to buy those shares , at the end of the day this is yet another example of Rangers fans apathy , if this fails and club1872 s shareholding is diluted then it's down to us the fans and no one else , we are world champions in wanting someone else to do things for us , we talk a good game but don't follow it up with actions . Last night was a very decent meeting IMHO , this current club1872 spoke as one and were different to previous boards in that there is a decent amount of joined up thinking and adult thought going into the way forward . However one serious issue remains , the funding of the next share issue is going to be a problem unless there is a serious take up in either membership or donations , its currently sitting at £520 000 with a target of £1 million ( there is a possibility of £1.7 million being needed ) , we must avoid dilution of club1872s shareholding , and it may be that the money in the projects accounts is possibly used towards the share issue . I must stress that this would need to go to a members vote for this to be able to happen , however I would hope this would get passed if asked by the board .

I'm trying to look at this from a neutral stand point , where are we as a club , potentially 2nd in the league after one of the worst domestic campaigns in our history ,plenty of players will be leaving to free up wages and allow better quality players to come in , 2 already lined up on Bosmans and both are better than what we have at present . Magisterially we need a decent long term appointment that will fit with the D O F and direction that the board want us to take , in this respect I actually believe they are going down the right path with a younger manager who will embrace this type of philosophy instead of railing against it . Personally I would have went down the German route and tried for Wagner at Huddersfield , I tend to find German managers are tactically so far ahead of their counterparts however, I can see the appeal of Gerrard and what he will bring , also the appointment of Gary Mac makes total sense as a number 2. When you take the emotions out of this , it actually makes more sense than I originally thought , also I firmly believe there must be finances in place as there is no way he would put his fledgling reputation on the line without some promises .

Given that it's Mark Allen's job to identify possible managerial prospects , it's fair to say that there will be conversations based around what type of players are getting identified , if you seriously believe that we are going to wait and wait and wait for a new manager to sign before going for players your deluded .Oh and as point in fact , I believe Scott Arfield has been signed on a 3 year deal .

Thats the whole concept of the DOF , continuation in cases where there is no manager , look at all the top clubs across europe , they continually recruit with out managers or even in between managerial changes .

We hold our players to a standard far above any other support , and we are far too quick to rubbish players we as a support don't like .
