  1. Ambitionis a really massive one for me , you cannot always be the best but you can always strive to that aim . With our limited financial market we must make better use of our facillities at Murray park and more importantly get a proper scouting net work in place , I have been a supporter ever since I can remember and this has never been addressed , the scatter gun approach just doesn't work and you cannot continually rely on picking up the odd bargain from teams that we play in Europe who may be in a worse financial mess . Also marketing has been a massive dissappointment under Murray's reign , for a team of our stature to have the strips and merchandise we do is really appalling , no one will convince me that we shouldn't be with Adidas or Nike .

    Danny Kops It

The lure of the premiership is far too strong , add in all the uncertainty surrounding us and the fact that his agent will be on a massive financial payday and it's little wonder he's offski . He only has to look as who is getting a game for them , I would play him before the big greek anyday
  3. There is a massive difference ascender between a midseason Agm grumle , compared to an end of season clearout and no finance to bring in new players , let alone sorting out the management team . I still maintain that this close season is shaping as possibly one of our most important in our history , that may be over egging the situation but I dont think so .
  4. So what figure would you put on it wabash , or are you seriously telling us that there is no chance that fans will close any accounts

    Clearout

This is shaping up to be the most important preseason ever , and with the world cup it will only be more frantic , that's why many managers such as Wenger are tryin to get their players sorted before it starts . Also by the time it finishes and players get a break it will be the end of July before they return , that's not including any injuries

    Clearout

We have the basis of a very good team if the money is made available to strengthen it properly , however that is the million dollar question , if as expected Wilson and Bougherra leave will Walter be given funds necessary to fill the gaps . We need wide players and a new center half , even with Webster returning in fact possibly 2 center halfs .Also a decent physical striker would be a bonus , as neither Lafferty nor Naismith fill me with confidence , however since the league finishes this weekend and no meetings have been arranged as of 9am this morning between AJ and LLoyds I guess there is no rush .
  7. Possibly because Murray hasn't finished with him yet , lol , but yes I agree it's getting very very tiresome
  8. We keep saying this , he cannot hold the ball up , doesn't look like a striker and has no physical presence what so ever , plus he is rotten in the air , I have hoped to be proved wrong all seasoon I just dont see anything in the big man
  9. One thing it definetly proved to me was that lafferty will not make it as a center forward , if we get offered money we should take it
  10. You heard right , though I wonder if that was the night he was so pissed he was refused on his flight , lol , seriously this whole Ellis thing is getting ridiculous there is a 28 pager on FF that actually doesn't tell us anything . Hysteria is the order of the day :)
  11. just out of interest would there not need to be an announcement made to the city , as for the last few months we were getting told that was why no one could say anything about this proposed takeover , so what's changed
  12. looks like the shit has hit the fan again , especially after getting the engine manufacturers to alter their tollerances
  13. I understand your point mate , but surely it is much easier to get the feelings of the internet fans than fans from " real life " , I mean all you need do is log on and register . Just find it very strange that he made that comment , in fact it's almost Murrayesque and probably has nothing to do with the deadline for season tickets only being 4 days away , ooops cynical me ..
  14. EHH do we not have fans over there as well .
  15. Can I also point out I have been watching sky for the last couple of hours and they seem to have dropped this story ....hmmmmmm!
  16. There are plenty of fans that think big fat DJ is still a legend , again doesn't make it so and internet fans are just fans , there is a vast amount of our fans who are so apathetic to what is happening to our club it is beyond belief , just because you ( not you literally) think Murray is a legend doesn't mean they are right , to many ignorance is bliss , but hey we all have opinions
  17. ok we will agree to differ , but lets just watch this space mate
  18. Jus on sky news the Ash clouds have returned and Irish air space has been closed , poor buggers coming over are shafted again
  19. I agree there are plenty who refuse to see anything bad in the man , but 100's of years ago people thought the earth was flat , doesn't make it so .:)
  20. Can I just ask why is everyone so desperate for a guy who no one knows anything about or how much money he has to take our club over . He hhas never broken cover , never spoken about his plans and then to cap it all makes possibly the biggest faux pas possible re Murray
  21. Murray for life President , hmmmmm is Murray actually going mental and he has developed a split personality called Ellis , just when you thought it couldn't get any worse . If Ellis had his finger on the pulse of this clubs support he would never I repeat never have come out with the statement about Murray , like others I smell shite , maybe a final attempt to flush out King ,Park and Paul Murray
  22. Why are you using articles that are over a year out of date , you state the law is the law European Parliament , yet there is clearly a difference with your opinion amongst senior EU politicians: Vice-President P¡l Schmitt: "I look forward to the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, which represents historic recognition for sport and its specific nature and autonomy. It is my personal conviction that sport is part of national identity and culture, and the '6+5' rule is a symbol for all team sports and gives an opportunity to young talents to take part in the highest level of competition. I expect that besides football, other team sports will also support this initiative since local stars in the line-up make sport more popular and attractive, therefore it draws young people back to the grounds." FIFA is planning to move ahead with the phasing in of the 6+5 rule after receiving a massive boost in March from the Institute for European Affairs (INEA), which presented a 191-page expert report concluding that the proposal "can be implemented in line with European Community law". Next time try reading the posts before commenting on them .
  23. Wabash you are quoting from an article that was written before the treaty of Lisbon was ratified , further to that if you read through the two articles you will see that , one is the European Vice President , and the other was the French Secratery of State .This is strictly about sport and doesn't affect construction workers , bank workers or any other type of employement , only sport. Also the Institute of European Affairs (INEA) is not some random secret society but is made up of some of the most prominent business in Europe , which also gets direct funding from the EU , and as a body something that the EU listens to very closely and has used on many different occasions . This will happen .
  24. Yes I know but the articles that I posted above were from last year and not from some no mark , the EU has fully endorsed the 6+5 rule , citing the treaty of Lisbon as actually recognising the AUTONOMY of SPORT , now it's only a matter of time , also note that no individual club nor association can take legal action against UEFA as it is against their stautes , very smart UEFA when needs be .
  25. P¡l Schmitt '6+5 ambassador' to the European Parliament(FIFA.com) Wednesday 21 October 2009 During the Conference on the Specificity and Autonomy of Sport, which took place at the Hungarian Parliament today, 21 October 2009, the European Parliament Vice-President, P¡l Schmitt (Hungary), and the FIFA President, Joseph S. Blatter, met to discuss the situation of sport within the European Union and possible common steps to protect the values of sport in general and football in particular. Messrs Schmitt and Blatter, both IOC members, concurred on the urgency to recognise and respect the specific characteristics of sport in Europe in line with Article 165 of the Lisbon Treaty and on the basis of the document presented in 2008 to the European authorities by the Olympic and Sport Movement under the title of 'Position of the Olympic and Sports Movement on the Specificity and Autonomy of Sport'. Moreover, Mr Schmitt, who fully supports the FIFA-proposed 6+5 rule, accepted the role of '6+5 ambassador' to the European Parliament in order to promote and defend this rule intended to protect national teams, the training of young players, training clubs as well as the national identity of football clubs. Messrs Blatter and Schmitt defined an action plan to be implemented in coordination with the programme of the next three rotating presidencies of the European Union - Spain and Belgium in 2010, and Hungary during the first semester of 2011. At the conference, also attended by IOC Executive Board member and IIHF President Ren© Fasel, FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter made the following suggestions: the number '6' - which corresponds to the minimum number of players that a club must select at the start of a match in a club competition who must be eligible to play for the national team of the association in which the club plays - would include players, irrespective of their nationality, who have been registered for clubs belonging to the association in which the club plays on a continuous basis since the age of 12 or earlier. It would also include players, irrespective of their nationality, who have played professional football for clubs belonging to the association in which the club plays on a continuous basis for five years since the age of 18. Quotes Prime Minister of Hungary Gordon Bajnai: "I do support the specificity and the autonomy of sport. I and the Hungarian government wish to congratulate FIFA on its initiatives towards the protection of national teams." European Parliament Vice-President P¡l Schmitt: "I look forward to the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, which represents historic recognition for sport and its specific nature and autonomy. It is my personal conviction that sport is part of national identity and culture, and the '6+5' rule is a symbol for all team sports and gives an opportunity to young talents to take part in the highest level of competition. I expect that besides football, other team sports will also support this initiative since local stars in the line-up make sport more popular and attractive, therefore it draws young people back to the grounds." FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter: "I'm particularly pleased that such a high-level and diversified group of participants at the conference called for a recognition of the specificity and the autonomy of sport. We are not alone in sharing these views, which speak for themselves. The '6+5' rule which FIFA defends is nothing but a fair rule to maintain the integrity, the balance and the uncertainty of competitions. These values are crucial to football."
