  1. These threads are just depressing but unfortunately like ground hog day , I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a pre season , I only hope the tims get a really hard draw come friday , mind you something that made me laugh ,Wabash wants Murray park closed , he's got a thread on FF about it , comedy gold

    This close Season

I agree with the formaation Frankie , I just worry about the players we have to play it . This is starting to get really serious , I understand the thinking if Thomson has intimated that he will not sign a new contract ( if we were ever in a position to offer him one ) but we are getting weaker and weaker . Also if we had offered Boyd a new contract how can we not offer Thomson one , yet again something is stinking in the state of Denmark , and were getting very very close to the mythical muir 14

    This close Season

I am starting too think that anything they can do we just have to better it , £2 million for Thomson is really pathetic , unless they have a player ready to buy , and eagles certainly isn't that player . Back to my previous doom and gloom mode , what's the betting davies still wont get played central
  4. No matter what transpires this close season ,one thing is becoming very obvious .The old Firm , yes both clubs are in the shitter , the downsizing at Porkheid is becoming every bit as much of a fire sale as anything that might yet happen with us . We are meant to be in the grubber , we are meant to be struggling to attract new players whilst attempting to stave off any and every offer for our " star " players , some of this in fact all of this may be true , however what is surprising is that in fact our so called esteemed neighbours are every bit as much in the grubber. The sale of borat is more than just moving a player in the last season of his contract on , it's a sign to the masses that they are downsizing , for Borat was the £15million Goalie was he not ,he was the player held up as the modern incantation of everything Septic stood for , the oppressed, the put upon by those bigoted Rangers fans . In fact along with Lennon he was held up as the very embodiement of the modern Septic . Yet now he is gone and for 2 million Euros , and with wee Aidridden being kept at home in case someone actually bids ( there is no real problem with his injury ,according to Ronnie Cully ) the new modern septic is taking place , like us cheaper short term signings , Bosmans and loanees . The future might just not be so bleak after all .( Domestically at least )
  5. What ever they get will not make up for the fact he is their best keeper , no matter how much I hated him , the other keeper is no match , yet again they have weakened their squad . They are in just as bad a state as us , however they manage to continually out PR us , wait for the multi million fee , which is trotted out . The italians are quoting 2 million Euros , Septic are quoting £3 million , no change their then
  6. This signing will be another to go down the myth route , the myth's that cardiff recieved several multi million pound bids for him in january , the myth's that there were several EPL teams in for him , the facts are Stoke wanted him on a swap deal , the fact that he missed much of last season with a bad injury and that he is very injury prone. He is quite a good player but giving any player the wages they are giving him , he better hit the ground running. I really dont see what they are trying to do with their squad
  7. cheers metlika , saved me posting the same , also last night finally did it for me with Hansen , total Knob who really hasn't a clue what he is on about . Also totally agree chilled bear the play acting was attrocious and spoiled what should have been a fantastic game , the Spanish believe they shouldn't be touched at all
  8. We wont miss Boyd per say but we will miss his goals , I wish him success I think he made the wrong choice . but it's his and his family who will have to live with it . And its up to our management team to get the replacements ( if any ) right.
  9. He' not worth it
  10. And that's your defence , you have slaughtered people and fans groups on here who have tried to attack murray for exactly what you are proposing , yet on another site under a different name you constantly try and start arguements and slither in comments to start rammies , if you are so Rangers minded post under the same name and at least keep your arguements constant and your belief's sound . Yet another internet coward
  11. As we speak Murray is heading for his vineyard to hide amongst the grapes for Silverspurs has him in his sights ,,,,,,, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Minty has had us all over, bank included, again. But he does have previous, so no one should be to surprised. The question is, what can we do to redress the situation. I would suggest that the supporters powers that be, get together and request a root and branch report of how the club is run and financed, i.e. who takes money out of the club and who puts money in. We should endeavour to have the club run in a self sustaining manner, all services from catering to stewarding owned and run by Rangers FC, with all profits going directly into the club and not some fly by nights hip pocket. The alternative of doing nothing , is a recipe for disaster of our own making. As AJ stated we are a going concern paying our way, now is the time to unite while we are in reasonable health, prevention is better than cure. There are surely enough people in various supporters organisations, to at least put up a reasonable and acceptable business model to what we have at the moment, by that I mean keeping profit in house rather than it leaving by the front door. The above post from a guy who constantly tells us that Murray is King , and also that as we are solvent there is nothing wrong at Ibrox ,but now he wants Murray to open the books to who ever to have a wee peak and decide what's best for the club , someone's been at the vino a wee bit early today
  12. Dont worry salvation is at hand , even as we speak wabash/silverspurs is galvanising the support to march upon the evil sir minty , well on FF he is
  13. Our biggest problem is that all these players will need replaced and we wont get all Bosman replacements . Now normally under usual circumstances losing some would not be a major problem but given the threadbare nature of our squad this will cause serious problems from january onwards
  14. If I understood the question I might reply
  15. Spanish team's get to secure their own TV deals and what is causing severe problems in Spain is that the other teams outwith the big two have had enough and are threatening all sorts of action even attempting to start their own league with out Barca and Real . It will never happen but it's holding up Barce's tv deal leading to the same problem as us Cash flow . Real were the biggest benificiaries of direct government help getting over $ 200 million euros' for land worth a fraction of the value , but hey it's Spain
  16. No you didn't miss it you just did your usual and ignored it , very naughty
  17. Hmmmmmmm , only one away from the number we were warned Muir was wanting , yet this was rubbished by some as scaremongering
  18. I think you've just hit the nail on the head , we wil probably bring in very few and attempt to negotiate new contracts with the likes of Thomson , Miller etc however the problem there is time is not on our side , agents will be well aware of what they can earn directly by getting these players to sign for other clubs , yet again bad management caused by minty and no one will convince me otherwise , the buck stops with him and him alone for this mess
  19. Naughty naughty let it go , you already started a rammy on FF , your getting quite the wee reputation on there , good to see your spreading the love
  20. Can you not make your own mind up , he's either doing it quietly or he isn't , but you dont like black and white situations
  21. Dont really agree with this bit , dont know if you have been watching the news or reading the papers , but they have been anything but doing anything quietly , every deal has been leaked and splashed all over the media , whilst they continually hawk their players around europe hoping for a buyers , oh and dont forget Lawell and the lurgan Bigot's tour of Scotland and Ireland trying to hawk season tickets , anything but quiet
  22. Very good post Frankie and to be honest it is just what I needed after reading the back pages this morning , no preseason seems to go by without our ambitions being deluted before we kick a ball , and as you say we cannot continue to pluck "average" players ( admittedly center halves ) and turning them into super players to be sold at a profit. Likewise the continual reinforcements at Porkheid is depressing , though I would argue that they aren't as great as being made out and whilst they are in a position to offer deals to players , giving Campbell a 2 year deal on £35,000 basic , Ledley a deal taking him from his current wage of £3000 to anywhere between £25-28000 doesn't seem to be the most efficient use of money but hey let them batter at it . They are still hawking wee Aids around but getting no takers , same for Borat and Hinkel , only the big DOO McManus looking likely. However my biggest worry is what happens if this status quo continues and the state we will be in this time next year , I have been prattling on about this all year , there is no long term planning and the thought of going through yet another season of takeover talk , with all the associated bullshit , leaves me decidedly depressed .Murray should be hanging his head in shame , however as per usual he will just bussshit he masses and everything will be ok . How close to the 14 senior players we were warned about, will we actually be is anyone's guess . What we cannot do is just buy for buyings sake , even if it's only one or two players , and I dont see the likes of jordan MacMillan or even Andy little making any serious impact next year , god it's going to be another long season One last thought that I am clinging on to is that wage demands that players make at this stage of the transfer window are usually a damn sight higher than what they want with a week of the window to go , but maybe that's me just being optomistic
  23. The dims wont be happy big Sol has been talking to Sunderland
  24. This was posted earlier on FF , and it's hard to argue with. The Unspoken Secret at Murray Park? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the football silly season gets underway and rumours abound about various comings and goings on the transfer market, the Rangers support is almost afraid to log on to its favourite website for fear of discovering that another first team player is about to move on. Boyd has gone, Novo has gone, Smith has gone, Beasley has gone and there`s talk that Kevin Thomson could join them. The club is now so impoverished that any half-decent offer will be looked at, and not just for the fee that comes in; the saving on wages is also an important factor. The club has announced that Kirk Broadfoot is staying and that a new deal has been agreed with Jordan McMillan and this news will generate about as much excitement and anticipation in the Rangers support as the pope`s impending visit to Britain`s shores. It`s early days of course and we can only guess at what the first team squad will consist of in the season ahead, but my feeling is that the ship is drifting aimlessly and will continue to do so until the club ownership situation is resolved - and even then there could still be problems to address. Walter Smith`s stock has never been higher, and this is probably being exploited by club and bank. While he remains in charge, any dissent will have a lid on it, and if the league is lost, Walter will take the flak and move on and let Ally McCoist take over. Had our former goalgetter taken over this year, it would likely have been his first and last year in the managerial hotseat. Failure would have seen him dismissed as a dud, but if he is brought in when we`re already down, the transition may actually be easier although still with no guarantee of success. It`s quite possible that the unspoken secret at Murray Park is that there is no real expectation that Rangers will win the league this season, and that the league campaign will be more about marking time until the off-field situation is resolved than actually being genuinely competitive. No-one dare admit such a possibility, especially in public, but Celtic won`t be expected to blow their financial advantage again this season. It desperately needs to win the league and will spend accordingly. We won`t even attempt to keep pace with Celtic`s level of investment, and the hope must be that Neil Lennon will be the next Tony Mowbray, and to be honest, I don`t think many believe that he will be.
  25. I agree totally especially about the wee runt , however all these players they are buying are only replacing the average ones they had on loan , and they will never replace Keane's goals and that is where their problems lie . However it would be nice to be able to start talking about our squad , because the way it's shaping up the doomsday scenario of Muir wanting a squad of 14 senior players is fast approaching .
