Sorry mate but I dont agree with that anymore . There are clubs all over europe with smaller turnovers and bigger debts which seem to be coping ok ,we are in a position that Murray wants out and the bank want their money back pronto , we had a repayement program which seems to be ripped up , we are in the C/L again and have a wage bill lower than at any time in my memory percentage wise. Knowing our luck we will clear the debt and then Murray will still want mega bucks because we are such a well run club .AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH my head

Youth will get it's chance , just not at Ibrox lol . In fact it's getting to the point if you cant find a bit of humour in what's happening just now you would crack up .

The squad going to Oz comprises 14 senior players and in that is included 2 goalies , Wattie really needs to pull something out the bag and pronto
  4. To be totally honest it wont make ablind bit of difference to us , given the squad we have , if some how we can finish 3rd from what ever group we get it will be a miracle in my opinion
  5. But is that a cultural thing , is it just us , or does it go deeper . I am not sure I have the answer but agree that it will take a greater will than is currently at the club from the very top down . Right that's twice I have found myself agreeing with you , , who is this and what have you done with wabash .....:box:
  6. I have to agree whole heartedly with this , even going back years when we were in the midst of NIAR when mediocre teams from across europe used to give us a spanking as long as we beat Septic everything was rosey . Now the million dollar question is how do we change that attitude whilst allowing young players to grow . We have seen with Charlie Adam that when pressure is taken of young players then they flourish and develop , maybe not the best example I used but he is now valued very highly and rightly or wrongly was very highly praised from outside Scotland when ever he played C/L football , we are so blinkered in our approach we are nearly blind , how we change god only knows but change we must
  7. Well let's face it we only have one team really , even if we wanted to rest all out top players I dont know if we would have enough to make another team..............aint sarcasim great
  8. Just read your last post on the FF thread , and fair do's . I will try my best to temper my posts and agree we need to remember it's all about the club .
  9. He tried this line on another forum a few days ago and was give the same answers , but why let the truth get in the way ..
  10. It would be niave at best to believe that the HMRC "interest" hasn't had an effect on any ownership issue , also Murray and King's relationship is more than a little stretched due to King's so called exclusive's . We all know Sir Minty like's to stay in charge and doesn't like bad publicity

    Bullard on his way?

It was posted on a joke rumurs site mate dont sweat it
  12. Just thought I would repost this , this is the breakdown of last years prize money, this does not inclue ticketing (obviously ) . I dont think this included the Tv money either but not 100% sure Each of the 32 clubs that featured in last season's group stage received a participation bonus of ââ??¬3.8m plus a match bonus of ââ??¬550,000 per group game played. On top of that, clubs benefited from performance bonuses of ââ??¬800,000 for every win and ââ??¬400,000 for every draw in the group stage. The 16 teams that reached the first knockout round all collected ââ??¬3m, the eight quarter-finalists ââ??¬3.3m apiece, and the four semi-finalists ââ??¬4m each. Winners FC Internazionale Milano pocketed ââ??¬9m and the runners-up FC Bayern MÃ?¼nchen ââ??¬5.2m. It follows, then, that any side winning all six group-stage matches would have been entitled to ââ??¬11.9m, a figure that would have risen immediately to ââ??¬14.9m because that club would also have qualified for the last 16. Last term a fixed amount of ââ??¬413.1m was destined for teams in the UEFA Champions League from the group stage onwards and in the UEFA Super Cup. FC Barcelona, as winners of the 2009 UEFA Super Cup, picked up ââ??¬2.5m and runners-up FC Shakhtar Donetsk ââ??¬2m. Some ââ??¬55m was allocated exclusively to the UEFA Champions League play-off round, meaning each of the 20 sides participating in the play-offs earned a fixed amount of ââ??¬2.1m. As in the 2006-09 cycle, ââ??¬10.3m was also reserved for solidarity payments to clubs eliminated in the qualifying phase of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa Leaguethis year coming will be published in a few weeks .
  13. Going back over 20 years if we were linked with an Ian Ferguson now these internet boards would go into melt down , get real people
  14. There is a massive difference between improving your standard of living and just chasing the cash like a mercenary , we aint talking about guys on average wages here , and remember they also get a PFA pension that they dont need to contribute to . At the end of their careers they can still be rich but show their medals, but each to their own
  15. They are greedy barstewards and at the first sign of ££'s they are off quicker than a pint of milk on a hot day
  16. To be perfectly honest now I know it was down to his financial demands I am not bothered in the least . At least we had identified him for a position and instead of randomly buying players, are actively seeking to strengthen parts of the team. However when it comes down to money and they decide they dont want to come at least we are sticking to our guns and not being stupid as we have in the past , this post may fly in the face of some of my previous ones re player recruitment and our need for new blood but , not at any price .
  17. Any player that doesn't ask for a transfer is entitled to a 10% cut of the fee , that has always been in place , I suppose his agent could always be greedy as we do have a history of being soft touches

We can only imaine what was going on behind the scenes at that time , I am not for one moment trying to justify that performance , but the league was and is the biggest target and will be for years to come until our future is sorted and Murray departs . The C/L is just a money excersise and I will be very interested at what price the put the tickets at , given the mess they made of it last year .
  19. Firstly Miller has had his first ever 20 goal season I believe , he's nearly 30 years old and this is his first , secondly I had my season ticket way back before David Holmes and Souness arrived , and held it for over 25 years , I have a bond and shares did the strips and club merchandise every year , but a few years ago enough was enough and I cannot go back whilst Murray is still there , when he stood down YET again I thought things were on the up but nope ,listen mate this hurts me more than Rangers . The only way to get Murray away IMHO is for the rank and file fans to stay away , that's only my opinion

I used to be Smith's biggest critic , not so much for his domestic tactics but definetly in Europe , however I have to agree entirely with your post . What Walter has done especially in the last two years is incredible and I for one will never forget it. We can totally forget Europe as we will not be able to compete but at least I can accept that now .

    Quick Question

No there wasn't mate and Ellis has never spoken surprise surprise , also that was taken from end of business today . Not that it obviously makes any difference
  22. Why is the club still being shown as under offer , by the take over panel .
  23. We dont have strikers that will score consistently , and without that you dont win games , draws will kill us next year . We are top heavy with defenders , just about able to cover center mid , no width and very questionable up front AT THE MOMENT . This will be a long seaso and I am even debating whether it's worth paying for C/L football , as I dont take out my bond seat , the only time I may be inside Ibrox will be the AGM
  24. There is a difference between gambling and simply keeping a squad that is capable of contesting a championship , remember we are away 4 or 5 games right after c/l weeks , and most teams drop points after these games , we simply dont have a squad capable of contesting this title , I realise it's early days yet but the hard work is done now and we all expect more players to leave , what is worse we all probably expect us to be scrambling about for players with a couple of days to go
  25. What everyone seems to remember is that this years Scottish Champions get direct entry into next years C/l and we know what that's worth , but yet again short sighted management will possibly leave us with far too much of a disadvantage and then we all know what the consequences of that will be . I used to laugh at the notion that we were being run on a 7-10 day business plan , but the more things transpire the more that it is obviously the case Sorry I am wrong this years winners get to play a very easy qualifier from countries 16th and above , and we will definetly be seeded , appologies if any confusion
