  4. Ok cue the Bougherra to Germany stories , if sky sports is correct Arsenal are in talks to sign a center half from Stuttgart for £10 million ......hope this gets done and dusted quickly , to be honest I hope he goes
  5. Typical of our wee country attitude to sport that we still have 3 governing bodies overseeing our national game , nice to see self interest is still alive and well at Hampden.

The first time you see it your first thoughts are great free kick , it's only when you see it from behind you realise what a horrible mess Zaluska made of it . On another note tis game finally put to bed the "strong celtic squad myth" they are miles behind what they had last year , and hopefully our management will be wise enough to cash in on what will be a very fraught first few months for the lurgan bigot's gallowate gallacticos . It also highlights the lunacy/desperation for love/cash in taking part in the Emirates cup this weekend , two games they will not want to be humiliated in before the game that will define their season , absolute madness. And just to top it all off, another great piece of news is that their return with Braga at the glitterdome is free on their season tickets , so that should be a gig crowd NOT , all we hear is Radio Braga, Radio Braga ..............

    CL Cash??

We get the other half of Scotland's tv money , the amount has yet to be announced , probably down to UEFA not knowing exactly who will be in the group stages , they tend to be a bit anal about things like this and dont announce estimates. I will post it as soon as it is on the UEFA site , as well as the Group fee , win and draw bonuses .

  10. What an awful day , looks more like scotland cheers for the heads up gribz The pitch is awful , but we have the same problem as last year , no width
  11. I am going to be positive and say that Walter and Bain are playing a blinder , the press have no real idea of who we are after and what does come out seems positive enough , in that we are looking to strengthen specific positions and that we will not sign anyone for the sake of it . The other possibility that we have no money and it is all talk is just too depressing to even consider . The other entity that we have no power over is the EPL ruling on squad sizes which if worked properly could work in our favour , August will be a very interesting month's for many many teams
  12. The biggest problem for a lot of English teams is the new 25 squad number , with 8 under 21 year olds England's Football League clubs have agreed new rules on the number of "home-grown" players in their squads. From next season, clubs will have to name 10 "home-grown" players in a squad restricted to 25 players aged over 21. To qualify, players must be registered in domestic football for three seasons before turning 21. However, a proposal by Leyton Orient to relegate clubs two divisions for going into administration was rejected at the League's Annual General Meeting. But following the meeting of the 72 clubs in Malta, League chiefs will review the punishments for administration to see if they need toughening up. This year's summer transfer window has certainly become more interesting after this decision Other rule changes include clubs, who will be able to include as many players under the age of 21 in their squads as they like, being hit with a transfer embargo if they do not file their financial accounts at Companies House in time. The League's fit and proper persons' test has also been retitled the "Director's Test" to fall in line with the other football bodies. And a loophole has been closed so that clubs that go into administration are hit with sporting sanctions even when the club is part of a group company. Football League chairman Greg Clarke said: "This has been a positive and constructive meeting at which we've looked at many of the important issues currently facing football and taken steps to address a number of the most pressing governance concerns."
  13. This is lifted directly from UEFA'S guidance to clubs , it's from the Europa league regulations section X , page 26 http://ua.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/competitions/UEFACup/84/52/89/845289_DOWNLOAD.pdf 18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for the group phase of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League; moreover, as from the start of the round of 32 (round of 16 for UEFA Champions League), a player can be registered in accordance with paragraphs 18.17 to 18.20 below. For the avoidance of doubt, a substitute player who has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the course of the same season, provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in accordance with the present regulations.
  14. Yes I know mate , I aint blaming you . They have done this before , also the quote's about euro participation have been lifted from that report as well , and I am not 100 % sure they are accurate . I am trying to find out just now
  15. What surprised me when shown was that they acutally lost more players than us from the end of last season , I realise they have been signing players but they are no stronger imho than they were last year
  16. This was lifted from a german website , it was posted on another forum
  17. This was posted on FF last night, absolutely superb post . Just a shame I couldn't capture the picture that went with it. Tell it to the marines -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was tension amongst even the battle experienced Marines as they waited for the call. Even the most battle hardened of veterans were unsure what awaited them in the moments ahead. Nervous excitement coursed through the rank and file of these young men as to what awaited them in the next few minutes. But there was no last minute checks of weapons or ammo, no final smear of cam cream, for this was a very different theatre from what they had experienced in the previous 6 months. As theââ?¬Â quick marchââ?¬Â order came the time for questions was over. A media and a section of the public who at times had been less than supportive for the war in Afghanistan had given rise to the fear and uncertainty amongst these young men. But they need not have worried. Because this theatre was Ibrox, the home of the brave. The meeting place of the most loyal of the loyal. Those who defy populist opinion to stand steadfast to their beliefs, to that passed down from generation to generation. Where the teachings of our forefathers is not forgotten but embraced as a spiritual way mark for us, for our children and our childrenââ?¬â?¢s children. As the young marines marched out any apprehension quickly evaporated. The flags they saw raised and waved in their honour were they very flags they had served under and in some cases which those who made the ultimate sacrifice, had been buried under. The cheers, the applause the adulation created a crescendo of noise which even a Royal Marines Band could not have drowned out. But there was no need for a band, for booming down from every corner of Ibrox and echoing through the veins of everyone present was the sound of ââ?¬Å?Rule Britanniaââ?¬Â. The effect of this frenzy of appreciation could not be measured however. As one would expect from those who wear the Green Beret, they marched towards the centre of the pitch with a single minded sense of purpose. It was that same single minded sense of purpose and duty which earned this Corps not a few geographical locations as its battle honours, but the very globe itself. But when the ââ?¬Å?stand easyââ?¬Â order came all semblance of order evaporated. The young marines ran to the 4 corners of Ibrox to show their heartfelt appreciation. The government can spend millions trying to spin an upbeat message about the Afghan War, the MOD can make defiant statement after statement carefully prepared by those of eloquent tongue but in those few moments at Ibrox, those young Marines endeavours and sacrifices were put in a proper and genuine perspective. Any lingering doubts any of them harboured about their deployment were usurped by a section of people who recognised the risks they had taken, the dangers they had overcome and the sacrifices they had made. And were not afraid to demonstrate their appreciation. They grabbed scarves which had been thrown to honour them and draped themselves in them to emphasise the oneness of a people. They applauded their rapturous reception. They danced. They celebrated. They relaxed. Months of tensions, tragedy, heartbreak and struggle was recognised, honoured and appreciated by an adoring public. I would respectfully suggest what they experienced that afternoon was far more fulfilling memory than a circular piece of metal and ribbon which will arrive in a few weeks time with a name and number on it. And remarkably it did not go unreported with many Scottish newspapers as well as the wider media reporting the events that afternoon. It should come as no surprise that many of the military websites saw fit to report the reception these young heroes received at Ibrox. Itââ?¬â?¢s probably the stuff spin doctors and ministry of defence officials can only dream of. But its real value is in its integrity. For that appreciation those young Marines received is not contrived or manufactured by a desire to be liked or to be loved by everyone, but by a people who know what they stand for and are comfortable in what they believe even if it means ridicule by cowards with typewriters. The reception those young Marines received at Ibrox that afternoon has not been confined to a few moments...it has reverberated right through the consciousness of our armed forces, albeit assisted by those in the MOD who saw an opportunity that no government millions could create. Is it any small wonder that there are people out there who fear the Rangers support working collectively? Perhaps when we ourselves realise this, we will once again become a force to be reckoned with. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by Roger the Rabbit; Yesterday at 22:04.
  18. This is yet another internet story being taken up and becoming reality , however people within the club need to take a long hard look at themselves , the constant conflicting stories and press reports has left the vast majority just absolutely baffled at any apparent direction we seem to be going in . Again this years AGM should be made to be relevant and less questions about socks would be appreciated !
  19. That's a brilliant site , well done to all behind it
  20. UOTE=Bluedell;211123]Much of the criticism of Bain has been fair, although he appears to have stepped up his game when given more autonomy following SDM standing down as Chairman and has spoken very well whenever he gets the chance. As for the debt, although we make less profit in the second half of the year, we do get in a chunk of the season ticket money for the following season prior to the year end. The year end debt should ben lower than the £27m you mention but that in itself is probably too low as a half year estimate. The accounts normally come out during August, but it was November last year, partly due to the issues with the bank. Who knows when the accounts will be issued this year? It could depend on how successful we are in the transfer market. It should be a very interseting AGM this year and some very pertinent questions need asked , would it be possible to have a thread on here in preperation for this years ,avoidance meeting , or is that not needed . It would be much better if we could get some questions prepared instead of the usual rabble.

    Danny Wilson

He has only signed for 3 years , cant see what or rather how the deal could be drawn up in any way that would benefit us , considering we are £3 million out of pocket potentially
  22. Our team was predominately under 17's as the bulk of reserves/u19's are in Oz , there aint no one left
  23. Oh can this summer get any worse .....dont answer that
