The way that Wishart described it didn't really make a case for doing it so far in advance worthwhile either for the club involved nor the player , there were far too many possible outcomes such as injury , loss of form , regaining form etc however it can be done

If style of football was all that mattered , grounds the length and breadth of this country would lie empty week in week out , but the truth is we have an emotional attatchment as fans to what ever club we support , wee clubs get away with the "we play brilliant football" rubbish because they dont expect to win trophies end off , as N.L states Walter Smith is expected nay the support demand he delivers trophies , and none of us in lala internet land will ever appreciate the lonely and pressurised world that he lives in . The matter of pre contracts has been discussed before and in fact Frazer Wishart of the SPFA has been on record stating that you could in theory sign a pre contract with Club B , a day after signing for Club A , the 6 month time scale is a bit of a red herring with regards to the actual signing it refers to the time scale in which a player is free to talk to any other club without informing his present employer

According to Marko Vjetrovic who is the president of Partizan Belgrad and a member of the European Club Asscociation (ECA) the prize money for the UEFA club competions will increase. UEFA Champions League 2009/2010: Bonus for domestic champion: 200.000 € * 1st qualifying round: 130.000 € * 2nd qualifying round: 130.000 € * 3rd qualifying round: 130.000 € * Playoffs: 2.100.000 € * Group stage: 7.100.000 € Group match victory: 800.000 € Group match draw: 400.000 € 1st knock out round: 3.000.000 € Quarter-finals: 3.300.000 € Semi-finals: 4.200.000 € Final: 5.500.000 € Winning the final: 3.500.000 € * = These payments were only awarded to the clubs which quould not qualify for the UEFA Champions League group stage! Going out in this round has cost celtic over $1.9 million euros going on last years figures from UEFA , they are only due $130,000 euros instead of over $2.1 million as a parachute payement for dropping into the Europa league , and as their 4th round match wont be covered by season tickets they will suffer big time again , oh how I love Europe when it goes for you.

To be brutally honest , the C/L is but a distraction this season , everything should be towards the league , the league winners have one eeasy draw into next years C/L , stopping septic getting this will really damage them , and seriously aid our recovery , EVERYTHING must be towards winning the league
