Robertson for me , though Numan was pure class . Munro was an absolute star though very very much under rated , he was extremly effective and as per the usual with us his last year he was different class

Would take him in a shot , no settling in , great scoring record of big goals in big games , never surrenders , we need battlers in the coming weeks , what a lift he would give the place. I realise that in a way this would be a backward step , but Rangers are in the here and now , we seem financially incapable of planning ahead , every day is an adventure and next season is going the same way Davis and Bougherra will only have 1 year left , Murray needs dragged out of what ever cave he shares with Bin Laden and booted up and down Rose street , for the mess he has left us with

well go on then do it ..

Until Myurray breaks cover , which will be never , we will never get an answer ,( even then it will all be the usual pish as no news agency ever puts up someone who can take him on ). One thing is getting clearer by the day , the banks dont run us , we are making profits and healthy ones and winning the league and getting access to the C/L millions has actually hindered our sale not helped , the fact we are healthy means Lloyds are in no rush to get shot of us , nor Murray for as the debt comes down the asking price certainly isn't , and why should it , we are after all a massive fish in a small pond and if we keep producing and the fans keep turning up then as far as Murray is concerned Happy Days . Walter has actually IMHO done the fans a disservice in blaming Lloyds as all he has done is protect Murray and moved the blame , but he would never attack Murray , nor will Ally , in fact I actually believe Murray will return and my absence will continue .

This was copied from a much larger thread on another site , however it sums up my feelings yet again Here are the countries with populations within a million of Scotland's Slovakia 5.4 million - 12 Team League - Euro Ranking 23rd Denmark 5.3 Million - 12 Team League - Euro Ranking 15th Finland 5.3 Million - 14 Team League - Euro Ranking 30th SCOTLAND 5.1 Million - 12? Team League - Euro Ranking 16th Georgia 4.9 million 10 team league - Euro ranking 37th Norway 4.7 million 16 Team League - Euro Ranking 22nd Croatia 4.5 million - 16 Team League - Euro Ranking 27th Moldova 4.4 Million - 14 team League - Euro Ranking 34th ROI 4.2 Million - 10 Team league - Euro Ranking 29th Only 2 of the 8 countries that are similarly sizes to Scotland support a league of 16 or more teams. The only two in the top twenty ranked countries in Europe have a 12 team league. Why do we think a 16 or 18 team league will will work for us and suddenly and magically solve all of our problems? * The Euro rankings quoted above are the from the UEFA coefficients going into the current season. Seemed about the most realistic way of judging how the leagues compare to each other.

The one major difference with this game is that Hearts will attack and not rely on counter attacking , which should and usually does leave gaps that we can exploit .

£30 million as compared to what they wanted is but a drop in the ocean is it not , plus if his legal problems are going as they must be if he has just become chairman of a company again as H1ndy says time to put up or shut up Mr King

LIFTED FROM ANOTHER SITE Dave King Latest Tax Issues -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just an update on the latest situation which has been placed in the local papers in South Africa. JOHANNESBURG - Controversial businessman Dave King accepted the position of executive chairman of MICROmega Holdings (JSE:MMG) because he has settled his disputes with the SA Revenue Service (Sars) and the Reserve Bank. Only the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) today has any issues with him, he told Moneyweb on Tuesday, suggesting that his settlements render the NPA's case rather flimsy. Still, the standoff with NPA means he cannot implement the settlements. Much of the NPA's case involved the allegations of Sars and the Reserve Bank. Only last August, the NPA brought new charges against him and his long-time partner and co-director of MICROmega, Greg Morris. Those charges related to events in Specialised Outsourcing 15 years ago. "I've looked at the docket in this latest little skirmish and it raised not even a mild concern." Most of the issues being raised about SOS have been debated ad nauseum for the past 15 years. For more than ten years King has contested charges of fraud, tax evasion, and breach of exchange control regulations in the High Court. Legal costs for him and for the State have run to tens of millions of rands. Now he says he settled with both Sars and the Reserve Bank. He believes Sars and the Reserve Bank have come to understand his position better and have withdrawn their criminal charges. King is the most relaxed and outspoken company boss. He never goes off the record or pulls his punches, for instance stating that John Myburgh SC had messed up the State's case and he would be surprised if he played any further part in it. "The NPA is sitting naked now that those who brought the charges accept I am not a crook. The issues with the NPA are continuing. We'll see what happens but I feel confident enough to get on with my business life." Through HSBC, King owns 21.8% of MICROmega. He said the company has done extremely well without him. Its IT arm is a red-badge Cisco associate and is a pioneer in SA of cloud computing. Like Specialised Outsourcing, it is a financial adviser to 45 government and municipal borrowers and it also has motor interests. Says King: "I have some new business ideas for MICROmega that are more exciting than anything I have ever done before. He agreed that MicroMega needs more than the current two independent directors so that it not seen as a clique of controversial friends. Today Pete Henderson was named as lead independent director. How much did the settlement with Sars cost? "We indicated quite early on that we would be prepared to pay R290m. It worked out at more than double that but more than half of the settlement amount was interest. There were no penalties." King said the money owing to Sars and the Reserve Bank was safely put away earning interest until NPA issues were sorted. I asked if investors might be chary of following King, even if MICROmega does well, for fear of a replay of SOS with King selling his own shares quietly into market strength. "I sold nothing quietly. Those, like Sanlam (JSE:SLM)'s Kokkie Kooiman, who said I did are intellectually insulting. If they thought I was key to the company they should have watched the share register and the annual reports. There was no requirement to notify share sales then, as there is today. Remember that a lot of companies crashed, including DiData and RealAfrica. Why single out Specialised Outsourcing?" He said he realised that the controversy around his name would rage among investors but that made him more determined than ever to run a clean ship

Lets just face it , the whole things a mess , there is no leadership , the majority of chairman are driven by self interest , no problem with that , Sky aren't interested as they know they have us by the balls , we dont have enough strong teams to increase our top league and that is about that .

Details of Rangers fans meeting , today , with Neil Doncaster
rbr replied to rbr's topic in Rangers Chat
We currently have one of the highest % per fan to seat ration in British football , according to Bain at the last AGM , so any decrease would have to be minimal to make any great difference , I think from memory we were just over 90% capacity -
It would be very interesting to find out who has the final say on this decision , I happen to agree fully with your assessment , football wise it's a no brainer however if it's someone else making the decision then he's offski . He could of course decide to stay and see out his contract , remembering if he goes at the moment he is also due 10% of the transfer fee

Have to agree Frankie , the clamour to increase the league by bringing in even weaker teams is baffling to me , how many fans did Hamilton take to Ibrox on Saturday , lets face it the entire Scottish scene is underopinned by the Rangers and septic fans travelling to away games. If we had stronger teams in the championship/1st division then fine but these teams are very very weak both financially and fans wise , if in a few years we get these teams stronger then fine increase the league but now is not the time , amyone that thinks bringing Raith Rovers et all into the leaguie is going to make it better is kidding themselves 10 teams may not be the best thing in the world , but an early start and a winter shutdown is by far the best opition IMHO , I hate the split . I also fully accept that I am probably in a minority on this
