  1. Was also told this tonight , McCoist and Whyte have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday , and Davis's , Whittaker's and MacGregor's deals will all be addressed with a view to staying , also the Cuellar deal is for real and there is a very good chance it may come of .
  2. League agrees to new Uefa financial regulations Page last updated at 09:03 GMT, Friday, 10 June 2011 10:03 UK E-mail this to a friend Printable version Swansea beat Reading in the Championship play-off final in May The Football League says its clubs have agreed in principle to adopt Uefa's financial fair play system. Uefa has introduced the rules to try to make sure that clubs balance their books and break even. The 72 league clubs, faced with increased levels of debt, agreed "in principle" to the regulations at their annual meeting. "This is a very important step forward for professional football," said Football League chairman Greg Clarke. "It will help our clubs exert greater control over their finances. "Much more work needs to be done, but I am hugely encouraged and impressed by the energy and focus of our clubs on this issue. PAUL FLETCHER ANALYSISContinue reading the main story Perhaps the impact of the recession combined with reduced television revenue from 2012 means clubs are more receptive to taking a long, hard look at their bottom line Read Paul's blog "They have been the catalyst for change and have shown a real desire to self-regulate in this area. I congratulate them on taking this bold step." The Football League clubs voted in favour of the new measures at the meeting in Cyprus following a presentation by Andrea Traverso, Uefa's head of club licensing and financial fair play. Debt in Football League clubs now totals approximately £700million, Clarke told BBC Sport's Paul Fletcher earlier this week, "and more than 80% of this is in the Championship". The Championship clubs agreed to work towards the new regulations being "developed and approved by the beginning of the 2012/13 season". League One clubs have also agree to introduce the Salary Cost Management Protocol (SCMP) from next season, where teams will only be allowed to spend a fixed proportion of their total turnover on player wages. The SCMP already operates in League Two at the 60% threshold, which will be reduced to 55% from the summer. FA chairman David Bernstein described the Football League's announcement as "very encouraging". He said: "I welcome the Football League's new cost control measures. The FA supports these regulations and they are a welcome step in the right direction. "While giving evidence at the Select Committee in March, (FA general secretary) Alex Horne and I called for such measures. "I would like to congratulate Greg Clarke and all at the Football League for their continued progress in this area."
  3. The papers haven't a clue and no one inside Ibrox is talking .. trust me on this one , when players are signed then all will be revealed hopefully just like the good old days
  4. You sure you spelled that right , is there not a "T" at the start of that word lol
  5. According to an Express journalist , Bougherra is now denying it , oh its a long summer ahead. For anyone on twitter his ff is scotburns75 , says he has " spoken" to Bougherra directly.
  6. It's being reported on all the sunday sites , looks like it came from algerian media , either way we need to move on , he has been wanting away for ever since he got plucked from obscurity , a bit like Cuellar , they will never learn the only way is down , all you need look at is the number of players who wished they had never left the RANGERS
  7. bye bye , dont let the door slam your arse on the way out . Yet another about to find out the grass isn't greener on the dark side , years of mediocrity against years of glory , all for a few dollars more , sad , sad , sad
  8. You really have to laugh , here is a guy who would see us shut down if he could and yet we argue about banning him from Ibrox , yet a reporter dared ask Sir Awex a reasonable question about Giggs and almost imediately Sir awex was talking about "getting him " , we have a real small club mentality about certain things .
  9. You can sign players just now , the paper work gets handed in when the window opens , in fact you can sign a precontract anytime and get the paperwork post dated
  10. stupid post , removed , found ma smilies:sneaky:
  11. :sn: MacGregor does what he does consistently and I would hate to see him go , but for last year it would have to be Naismith , he stepped up big time and especially after the Dundee Utd game he was immense in every game . This guy could go on to be one of the true greats if he can stay injury free , IMHO , ps how do you get a players picture up , do you need access to a secret bit or something
  12. I wish everyone would calm down to a frenzy , the window hasn't even opened yet , McCoist will sooon be making enough noises if he isnt getting the support he was promised . most players are still away or are just away on their holidays , remember with the 25 players squad introduction in England , there will be plenty of players looking for clubs that wil either have to accept deals or face the prospect of no money at all , also we will always be second choice to the EPL we just have to accept that .
  13. Zappa , it was the points about the positions of the players that we had released , some of those playing for the U19 were very young , possibly too young for that level and that was throughout the U19 's and brought about by next to zero investment for the last few years , however considering how close the U19's came to winning it's a testament to how good some of them can be , I think it was really only down to a few key injuries that scuppered them in the end .
  14. Zappa , our U19,s are very very young and inexperienced , also the likes of Shinnie is nearly 22 and never going to make it
  15. Cannot wait to hear the foreveroffended mob start greeting about this
  16. There will be some very highly paid players getting very very twitchy this summer , remember the EPL have introduced the 25 squad players rule and thats before the usual influx of over priced Europeans . Best wait till nearer the end of the transfer window .
  17. Read some of the usual pish on there , honestly why these clowns cant see that there is life outside thier beloved premiership is beyond me , the vast majority of clubs in the EPL are just there to make up the numbers despite getting over £40 million per season , our league might be rubbish but you cannot slag off team who get the square root of heehaw financially , compared to these wasters .
  18. He won all their player of the year awards as well as the supporters player of the year
  19. David Bentley was only on loan iirc , Larson I would take in a flash , nope to the rest
  20. sorry it should have read the "boy" , in fact he has already signed , Joshua Robinson , dont know any more about him
  21. David Vaughan would be an excellent player for us , in fact he would b e for the left side what Naisy is on the right , good pace , excellent passing , good at dead balls and very very brave , I really hope this one comes to fruition . In fact he is exactly the type of player if he did go to Everton , he would be turned into another Cahill and everyone would be lauding Moyes as an excellent spotter of a player , possibly slightly different since he has been in the premiership for a year but you get my drift .
  22. Celtic have spent an absolute fortune on their youth's they have bought players from all over the place , where as we have basically stopped bringing kids in , however that will change this summer , especially at u19 level , these 2 from Man City and the biopy from Linfield will only be the start , also we are far too slow releasing players like Shinnie etc who would never make it at Rangers level , Jordan MacMillan is another who springs to mind
  23. Because let's face it the old board were really excellent at running the club , NOT
  24. He was on the board for years prior to Murray running away for the second time
  25. He didn't have that great an instinct when SDM walked all over us and he said nothing or did nothing to stop it .
