One word will sum this game up.....attitude .... if it's bang on we have no problem's , if its aint we are struggling

Where did the whole Gordon Smith is in Italy thing come from anyway , no one even knows where he is..

The results dont bother me but the failure to reinforce the team is starting to get on my wick , the importance of having a strong squad for the C/L qualifiers is vital , a repeat of Kaunus is unthinkable , and tantamount to mismanagement given that we have been here before.

Depending on the outcome of the Fenerbache case , we may actually be due money from Bursapor qualifying for the c/l , they should be moved up to second now rthat Fenerbache have been stripped of their title , outcome is due by the 15th

He isnt the only one mate , and I still stick by my original point , until we start acting professionally , planning for the long term we will forever be in the same rut , this have to win every game nonsense is a total joke -

Excellent article and one that also puts to bed the myth that we as fans would be happy with a season of nothing , bringing through the kids etc ,if it meant long term success , yet here we have two preseason games and the whiff of panic is everywhere -
I had the same arguement/discussion with Andrew Dickson on twitter , just baffling decision to be honest , Andy Little wasn't best pleased but his comments today just backed up my point

We're 850 grand better off after Adam signs for Liverpool
rbr replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
The biggest problem is like everything else , we judge players on SPL games , if you look back at the European games he played in , he was excellent , scored and made goals , we are far too blinkered in Scotland , good luck to him. As for Craigs point above , Liverpool is tailor made if he is allowed to play slightly deeper , his passing and the way Liverpool play are totally suited , plus and it's a major point they have Andy Carroll who will love , Simply love Adam's delivery . -
About time too , it was an absolute shite hole

RANGERS; WE WILL NOT BE BLAMED FOR SECTARIANISM New boss promises "aggresive" fightback against critics Craig Whyte, the new owner of Rangers, has launched a robust fightback against the football clubs critics on sectarianism, making clear that it will "not be made the whipping boys for society's failings". Ahead of next weeks meeting of the Scottish Governments joint action group, chaired by First Minister Alex Salmond, Mr Whyte has tasked his friend Jack Irvine, executive chairman of Media House International, to spearhead a "more aggresive" response to Rangers critics within and outwith the political world. Mr Irvine said, "What we won't be is knocked around by knee-jerk politicians and by others across the coty. We're drawing a line in the sand. Sectarianism is a problem, but not the sole problem of Rangers Football Club" A decision to be more assertive was made following a meeting between Mr Whyte and members of the All-party Rangers group at Westminster, which includes chairman John Robertson, the Labour MP for Glasgow North West, Peter Robinson, the Northern Irish First minister, Lord Wallacw of Tankerness, the Advocate general, and Eleanor Laing, the Conservative back bencher. Sectarianism was high on the meetings agenda. Mr Irvine, a former editor of The Scottish Sun, said that Rangers views were clear: that it fully supported Mr Salmond and the SNP Government to ris Scottish society of bigotry and that it applauded the decision not to rush through legislation. Mr Irvine added: "However, we are clear in our own minds that there alre elements both in Glasgow and abroad, who are desperate to lay the blame of Scotlands ills at the doors of Ibrox. "I would have thought these poliyically motivated critics might use their energies to analyse the chief problems in our society such as poor education, unemployment, drugs and youth crime. "All respectable Rangers supporters, and that is the vast majority, condemn bigotry and sectrarianism but we will not be the whipping boys for societys failings. "For too long, Rangers have taken it in the neck. it's a new owner, new management, new rules. Craig wants a more robust challenge to ill-informed critics. He does not intend for Rangers to be pushed around." Without naming names, Mr Irvine added: "I have a message for those of you who would denigrate Rangers: if you stop telling lies about us, we'll stop telling the truth about you." Brian Donohoe, labour Mp for Central Ayrshire, who is the all party Rangers Group secretary, supported Mr Irvines sentiments, saying: "We should be on the offensive, not the deffensive. Our record is there to speak for itself. This has to be taken forward on the basis of fairness to all." In April, Rangers was fined £71,294 by Uefa for sctarian chanting and will not have any of its fans at the first away match of next season after charges of inappropriate chanting were brought in both legs of a Europa League tie against PSV Eindhoven. It has been estimated that Rangers could lose more than £2 million in lost gate receipts. The issue of sectarianism came to ahead earlier this year when Neil Lemon, the Celtc manager, bacame the victim of a hate campaign and was attacked during a match away to Hearts in Edinburgh. A 26 year old man was subsequently charged with breach of the peace and assualt, both aggravated by religious prejudice. In May, the high profile Glasgow lawyer and former Rangers chief, Donald Findlay QC, was targeted when a suspicious package, thought to be a knife, was sent to Cowdenbeath FC, where he is now chairman. Meanwhile, two men are to face trial after suspected bombs were posted to Mr Lemon as well as other leading supporters of the club.

Always remember John Mclelland playing center forward againt inter Milan , we won 3-2 but went out on away goals , what a night that was.

No one should be under any doubt how significant these two players resigning for us are and what signal this sends out .With the very real possibility of Davies following them , for the first time in years we have been able to secure important players down on new improved long term contracts , these contracts dont just work in the players interests it also strengthens our position should any other club come sniffing round them . It also reduces the usual January merry go round of players continually being out of contract and having the support worried that another Miller scenario is in the wind, the spine of the team is now secure , and hopefully the last real position ( center half ) will be addressed next . I feel absolutely great and am looking forward with much greater faith in our new management team and owner , well done to all .
-
We were told that the £5million was in addition to any profit we made , and did not include any money that was brought in from player sales or savings on wages . This £5 million figure was always an addition to what we had to spend .
-
What I dont really understand is , when we seem to be missing out on potential targets , ( I use the word "seem " loosely ) , why are we giving contracts to players who will not play any serious part this coming season . They may be on "lessmoney" however every penny appears to be a prisoner at the moment , we have C/L qualifiers coming up and preseason always throws up injuries , we are playing a very very dangerous game .
-
Thats the one before the new one which they are talking about , a 5 year deal , to be honest when it comes to Scotland, Sky out to just chuck it . If any one is confused , according to Mark Benstead they are talking about a new 5 year deal and are very optomistic
-
This is shaping up to be another gritty , backs to the wall , grind out results season . I hope I am wrong and we eventually get some quality reinforcements in , but we may just be asking the same players to go to the well once too often , still 8 weeks of the window left , optomistic loyal

Someone posted on twitter that he has played in 94% of our competitive games since he first signed , that is absolutely phenominal , also dont know if he has actually signed yet

For years we complained we over spent and over paid for players , now we have set parameters we wont go opver and the whole internet fans base is nearing meltdown , and there's still 2 months to go . The downside is the C/L qualifiers , but as we have been in this position before the board , manager cant use anything as an excuse , we just need to sit tight and hope they know what they are doing

If its true he's knocked back our latest offer then I would hold onto him on his current wage rather than sell him for £1 million , at least the current set up sem to see the value of letting players run their contracts down rather than give them away ala Miller , £2million minimum and it also sends a message out to other clubs
