Rangers Withdraw Cooperation With ET, Herald and Sunday Herald
rbr replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
Sorry, moving house , no broadband ,right as far as I am aware the Herald was told by the most senior of sources that this bill was being paid yesterday and that the only slight issue was over some expenses , the Herald refused to accept this and ran the story anyway . Paul Watson who is both a partner of the Law firm , is also a director in Media house our pr company , there is far too much going on behind the scenes here and why SDM is getting involved by calling newspapers is beyond me. Bain is also trying to muddy the waters even further , the whole thing is a mess. -
The £5 million was also in excess of what we had already budgeted for/profit wise this year
-
On a side note , and i have posted this before , after the last world cup , talksport had a serious of indepth reports on the major differences between Spanish and English football , in Spain they have over 650 Class A coaches who only coach under14,s , in England they have just about 90 who all coach adults , there are no figures available for Scotland

Since i have just managed to reappear from under my dark cloud of dispair , and after reading every forum and thread possible without the need for valuim, i just thought i would add my tuppence worth before disappearing again . We need a total overhaul of not just Rangers but Scottish football , young players from the age ( and I kid you not ) of 5 years old are being plucked from boys clubs and taken into Senior clubs to be coached , , at older levels (9,-14) they get taken away totally before the pro-youths totally screw the system up , We have boys desperatre to play but not being allowed to , its crazy . kids need to play and enjoy their football. Next all our coaches at Ibrox need to get their badges abroad , I have spoken to friends involved at senior clubs in England and the Largs course is seen as the easy option to fast track perople who will get jobs just because of who they are not because they know their jobs Third we need to change the way we as a nation play football , we have to learn to be patient , we need to learn to allow our young players to try something different before slaughtering them , and we need to realise that winning isnt everything , we may have won a world record number of titles , but , and I say this with heavy heart , so what ..........we have not moved on from where we were 20, 30 , 40 years ago , we need to change .

This will be the same guy who actually managed to score in europe , jezz..........
-
Its a double edged sword , no bear will ever want them to do well , however the reality is there only is us and them , the difference down south is that every team adds points and value , where as its always left to us two to keep the ship afloat . Damned if we do damned if we dont ... thats why we need a more competative league
-
Why haven't we seen more of McMillan and Perry until now?
rbr replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
We need to get into a position at the club where we are run on an even keel financially season on season without Europe , then and only then will young guys like those mentioned get the chance to progress without the pressure of getting results thrust upon them ,at the moment we are continually under pressure to bring in players to win in Europe and also win the league every year , the pressure is immense there is no breathing space for young players. Some will use the arguement that if you are good enough age doesnt come into it , but even in the EPL with their inflated squads young players are nurtured and eased into the grind of full on seasons , we dont need these kids burnt out or even worse getting too big for themselves , we have a hell of a bad habit of over hyping young players then turning on them after a few bad weeks ,I hope ally uses them wisely and we get the best out of them for years to come. -

The biggest threat Bluedell is that we fall so far ,that our C/L qualifiers would be against teams in the top 15 countries , the days of getting 2 teams back seem very distant , Dundee Utd have been a major let down and with Hearts almost certain to go out ......well it's left to the old firm yet again
-
More qualifiers will only weed out the smaller scottish clubs and carry on the cycle of decline , sorry I didnt get back to you about that article but my daughter is back from America , from Uni , and I'm moving house just now mate

Well said Calscot and they are Aussies and Yanks who take their fitness seriously
-
This is the market we are in at present and I am much happier with these type of solid pro's than your flashy see you players that are offski the moment some other club flashes their wedge at them . Americans and Ausies are always solid pros , we need to solidify the club and get it on an even keel financially in Scotland where we are living with in our meanswhilst not stifling the development of our young players , if it takes two or three years then so be it , to be honest I am actually pretty comfortable with our accusitions , well done the club , even if the first weeks were a shambles
-
I srtick by my original point we offered £400,000 when they had 10 games left why should we pay more when the now have 8 games left , remember their league is out of synch with ours
-
He had 10 games left to play in Sweden , he now has 9 , after this weekend it will be 8 , why anyone thinks we should up our offer if beyond me . If they dont accept the bid then wait till january , this is going to be a long rebuilding process that much is obvious , and as much a learning curve for the new owner and his team as it is for us fans

As a support far too many , myself included , for years blindly took Murray's word as gospel , well no more this bear , from now on actions will always speak louder than any words , the very fact that bailifs were allowed anywhere near Ibrox , easpecially as they had denied it the previous day , is and was shocking to me. We were meant to be in dialogue with HMRC ,they just dont send these guys in for a laugh , get real guys there is a massive difference between questioning tax demands and getting these arseholes sent to the club . This next AGM is going to be very very interesting , Murray was the master of being a slimy bastard ,, Whyte better have answers .- 29 replies

Not at all Calscot and I agree fully we should be investigating every single thing that is uncovered , but this was uncovered months ago and should have been dealt with , or do you just believe that HMRC sent in the baillifs for a laugh , as for acting professionally there hasnt been much evidence of that to date , especially transfer wise- 29 replies

I tend to agree with Zappa on this , and also dont see why the tax case can be used as any type of excuse , Whyte bought this club after extensive due dilligence and with plenty of press coverage on our difficulties , the deal was even restructured after this smaller tax issue came to light with Murray even reducing the price of his share s down from £6million to £1 to see this deal go through as long as Whyte paid the smaller tax bill. If as now appears the tax has still not been paid , who's fault is it . I am not for a moment casting Whyte as any sort of wideboy , and am extremly grateful and even thankful he took over , as the thought of where we would be with Lloyds/Muir still in charge fills me with dread , Davis , MacGregor , Whittaker sold etc ,however he and his team have to get a grip on this club and start to act in a more professional manner , especially regarding transfers and the media . There have been very welcome signs that this may be happening and in fact we may be in for a very long journey till we get to where we all want the club to be ,but to use the current situation as an excuse when it has been known for years and months is IMHO poor .- 29 replies

I know this is slightly off topic , but my mates who are Brighton fans , have been inside the new ground since noon , drinking , the bars are kept open till 7.30 when the leeds game finishes (they are all watching on the tv monitors ) , there is a band on every home game to entertain those that want to stay behind, talk about looking after the fans

In the world of football, are we now classed as a small club?
rbr replied to Gazza_8's topic in Rangers Chat
If you watch the highlights of matches outwith the old firm 9 out of 10 times it's like watching a game on a sunday morning at a local park , kick and rush no composure at all , we will never learn until we change our outlook on how we play the game , and that starts with the coaches , just as an aside , we played well last night but for individual idiotic moments we would be in the next round , it wasn't a better team that beat us , we did it ourselves
